One of my favorite character is the Hulk who is also known as Bruce Banner. Bruce Banner became the Hulk because of a gamma radiation exposure. Most people that were exposed to this chemical have died, but not Banner. He believed that because of his multiple personality disorder he was saved. He then called his other personality Hulk. Hulk and Banner has two different personalities. Therefore, I will be discussing the big five personality theory individually. The first of the five big personality is openness, Bruce Banner is a physicist which makes him a doctor. As a physicist he tends to think deeper, and analyze everything that surrounds him. He also tries to invent an antidote to his condition that transforms himself into a green giant monster. Unfortunately, he does not have any creative or imaginative traits. On the other hand, Hulk would score low …show more content…
Bruce Banner is more dependable, and reliable than Hulk. He is also more focused and efficient. As a doctor working in a laboratory, he needs to have all this traits because it helps him concentrate to do his work. However, Hulk’s personality trait is the opposite of everything Banner has. Hulk is more impulsive and careless. He turns into a savage warrior that is out of control all the time. For instance, when Hulk is around you can never have nice things because the will only destroy it. The third personality trait is extroversion, this trait is described to be more assertive, talkative and sociable. Banner does not have this type of personality. He is more quiet, reserved, and shy. He like to spend his time alone in his laboratory or his house. He does not like being around too many people. It took him a long time to meet someone, and then he almost killed her because he could not control Hulk. On the other hand. Hulk’s particular aspect is to take charge and direct others. He directs Banner to follow whatever he wants to do, whether it would be good or
From the first chapter of The Pit, it is very obvious that Curtis Jadwin will be a central figure in the novel. Jadwin's instant interest for Laura and Laura's almost immediate attraction for Jadwin confirm that there is more to see of these two characters. Norris, the author, characterizes Curtis Jadwin as a flawless, impeccable man who revered by everyone. Throughout the first five chapters of the novel Curtis Jadwin is characterized as a man devoted primarily to money, business and interested only in attaining all that he wishes. He is a man who wants to win in all aspects especially in money and challenges. Through the readings, it becomes apparent that Jadwin sees his Sunday school and Laura, not as something that he loves, but something that he wishes to attain to prove how strong he is.
Superman can fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes, Spider man can shoot webs, and Thor has a hammer. These superheroes rely on their weapons or powers. Hulk; however, doesn’t have powers to rely on, so in a man-on-man battle, he would always win. “His capacity for physical strength is potentially limitless due to the fact that the Hulk’s strengths increases proportionally with his level of great emotional stress, anger in particular.” Because Hulk's strength is controlled by how angry he is, he can never be out matched strength wise. No matter who the Hulk is up against, his strength will always be more than his opponent. Hulk doesn't need any super powers because of how enhanced his physical abilities
There are marvelous examples of transforming characters in the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. One of these is the book’s namesake himself. Victor Frankenstein, once a promising scientist, descends into madness. This happens because he goes too far and
This is due to the fact that Thor is a member of a team of heroes that go by the name of the Avengers. For example, one member of the Avengers who goes by the title of Ant Man has the ability to either grow or shrink at will. Ordinary people would not be able to pull off a feat such as this. Another example rests in a man who goes by the title of The Hulk. The Hulk is extraordinary because he is a large green man that possesses monstrous strength that is on par with that of Thor's strength. One last example of another supernatural member of the Avengers as well as an ally to Thor is Spider Man who possesses all the abilities of a spider which range from climbing up walls to shooting webs to get
Looking at Caesar, he is highly successful in his military battles due to his great organisation skills and strategic planning. Caesar values organisation since he receives hourly reports on how matters are abroad (Act I Scene 4 lines 34-36) and keeps detailed accounts of his battles. His logical thought also makes him so successful:
The planet (or the empire that’s on the planet) is led by an oppressive king called the Red King. Hulk was captured and enslaved to be gladiator. He tried to fight the guardians. Apparently, while passing the portal that brought him to the planet, he’s somehow weakening.
A person’s personality has been the subject of psychological scrutiny for many years. Psychologists have drawn up several theories in an attempt to accurately predict and determine one’s personality. Foremost amongst these, is the “Big Five Trait Theory” which stemmed from Raymond B. Cattell’s theory.
Would you just drop thousands of Ed Nortons into enemy territory and count on them getting so excited by free-fall that they became Hulks? (This transformation actually happens to Banner in "Hulk" 2008, by the
Kryptonite Every great character in history has layers. Every great villain has human characteristics that inspires empathy from the audience, and every great hero has his fatal flaw that kindles doubt in every reader.
“I'm Wolverine. I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice,” is a significant quote recited by the remarkable superhero, Wolverine. Before becoming the death- defying Wolverine, the man behind him was actually a mutated figure, allowing him to have surreal potential within him. Wolverine is definitely the optimal superhero to exist, for he has an accelerating healing factor, razor sharp adamantium claws and a gutsy personality leaving those who witnessed him in a state of shock. Wolverine has the capability to easily regenerate his damaged body tissues. He is unlike any other average human in the world considering he has bones created from a special substance known as adamantium in the world of Marvel. Not to mention, Wolverine or James Howlett, is a Canadian born in Alberta, Canada. During the day James is recognized as Logan, an alias name he desired after withdrawing himself from the Weapon X Program. However, when trouble is lurking, James suits up into the renowned Wolverine to fight crime and bring justice to the people. After completing a well sought for task, Wolverine is greatly praised by citizens for his immense aura of honour and dignity.
The second major theory is called the trait or five-factor model. Often referred to as the "Big 5". The five personality traits described by the theory are extraversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness and neuroticism. Beneath each proposed global factor, a number of correlated and more specific primary factors are claimed. One strength of the trait perspectives is their ability to categorize observable behaviors. In other words, observing the behaviors of an individual over time and in varying circumstances provides evidence for the personality traits categorized in trait theories. Another strength is that trait theories use
Hans Eysneck suggested that personality had three dimensions: extraversion-introversion, emotional stability - neuroticism, and psychoticism. Today, after the findings of Robert McCrae and Paul Costa, that theory has been expanded to include openness to experience, conscientiousness, and agreeableness. The positives of this theory are in its clarity. Being able to pinpoint traits and tie a personality to it are very advantageous. The big disadvantage is that trait theory fails to address the development of traits, and gives no theories into personality
The Big Five is the most widely accepted and used model of personality. The model consists of broad dimensions of personality traits. These dimensions are: Openness to Experience/Intellect, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism.
Donald Duck came into being in 1934 to fit a voice which had interested me a couple of years before. He first appeared in a bit in our The Wise Little Hen, and proceeded to steal the picture. He squawked and strutted his way into the production until he was practically the star of the film. He was a character we simply couldn't keep down. And the public took him to heart completely after his second appearanc...
The Hulk fought against a Russian agent, Mongu, who wanted to learn about his strength. Then later saved Betty from an underground ruler then battled with the Chinese General Fang (Incredible Hulk #5). Yet, despite doing all this good, the Hulk was blamed for espionage and the Fantastic Four were called in to take him down (The Hulk vs. the Thing!). Another example of this clash is during the Avengers’ Initiative. Despite being a founding member and taking down multiple villains, the Avengers still did not trust the Hulk since he was too unpredictable (Journey Into Mystery #112). After losing to his friends the first time, the Hulk came back and fought against the Avengers and the Fantastic Four (Avengers #5). Even after helping the Avengers stop the a group’s attempt to eradicate human life, Hulk was still never fully back with the Avengers. Especially after the Hulk fought with Spider-Man, and against the Avengers again (Amazing Spider-Man #14). In this fight, Spider-Man defeated the Hulk by telling him a joke that made him calm down enough to revert back into Bruce Banner in order to laugh (Amazing Spider-Man #14). Through these examples, the Hulk is humanized as he struggles between being in the
