Taking the Briggs test it seems I am one of the rare types, INFJ type personality. This makes me somewhat of a complex person with a complex personality that is often misunderstood. When reading the results I could relate to each and every category results. While shaking my head yes as I read on, it was surprising to me that a simple test can out line me as a person. Let me start with the first indication of my personality type, I- . In this description I would be considered an introvert rather than an extrovert .In another words I would prefer to work alone even though I do like to interact with deep conversations and issues that matter to me I do find it more enjoyable to work alone in almost all of my affairs. To me it seems less complicated …show more content…
A form of human interest such as counseling is a great career choice. Knowing the INFJ types are more bound to more of a human relation rather than a technology based personality I could see why I have chosen the field of drug and alcohol counselor for my career. This will allow me to dig deeper in to the human aspect of life with the ability of understanding a person’s spirit. Even though I may be very complex or confusing to some I truly like the traits that I have in me. Yes from time to time I am misunderstood and that’s ok with me. I love the human interaction and understanding that so few understand beyond rhyme or reason. I find my relationships with other people are far greater in debt then most people. My circle may be small but they are genuine and I truly like that about my double edge sword of knowing the intentions of good versus evil. Though my personality has flaws such as when under stress I can create pain and discomfort and sometimes find myself at a tug a war game with in my own personality I do seem to find myself to be very unique and wouldn’t want it any other way. I think the Briggs personality test highlights so much with in me that I could not find one thing I could disagree with. I am an IFNJ with no
Having completed the Myers-Briggs Personality Test previously, I was identified as an INTP, which stands for introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. Accordingly, this personality is often labeled as “The Architect” or “The Logician.” Despite my previous results, I repeated the test as instructed in the assignment. Consequently, based on the outcome of the test, my personality has altered in the past year. Thus, my updated results based on this analysis were, INTJ (introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging). However, the two personalities are similar, as only one trait seems to have varied. Therefore, instead of holding a characteristic grounded in perception, it would appear that I am inclined to mannerisms that indicate
Myers-Brigs is a personality assessment that focuses on specific traits that allow a person to capture a deeper understanding of who they are and what exactly makes them an individual. These traits are the person’s core personality of who they are behind closed doors, not how they would desire to behave. These traits are inborn and are the natural emotional reaction to the environment around us. There are four sections of the Meyers Briggs with two options in each section. Each person who completes the personality assessment is assigned four letters that represent their personal personality type. A summary is given that delves deeper into what those four letters represent. The summary includes, but is not limited to, strengths and weaknesses, relationships, and careers.
The Myers-Briggs profile was based on the test developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers (“The History of the MTBI assessment”, 2017). There are eight letters that can make up your profile E, N, F, P, I, S, T, and J. “E” stands for extrovert, meaning someone outgoing or social. “N” stands for intuitive, meaning the person goes off of their reasoning or feelings about something. “F” is for feelings, which represent an emotional state or belief about something. “P” is the symbol for perceiving, which means the way you process or take in a certain situation. “I” is for introvert, someone who keeps to themselves. “S” is for sensing, meaning you use common sense. “T” is for thinking, meaning you use your intellect. Finally, “J” is judging, which is making a
By being an INTP, I have interpreted why some things work in my favor. Being a perceiver allows me to embrace change while keeping any ill-thoughts (regarding changes I do not agree with) to myself. This personality blend, also, allows me to participate in group settings when brainstorming is needed, and having a lower preference in introversion grants me just enough patience to play along with the extroverts to complete the task. When putting two letters together, I have better understood my temperament. “Temperament arises from the regulation of arousal and emotion reliably producing characteristic, habitual responses to experience”, and mine is Intuitive Thinking (NT), so I create many options in my head (Blandin, K., February 2013, para. 4). On the other hand, my personality leads me to situations where I make irrational decisions because I’m not granted enough time to think everything through. As viewed in the presentation, “Lesson 1-Worldview perspective on organizational behavior”, understanding my personality typology, others’ typology, and organizational behavior will allow the workplace to be more efficient because we have a better understanding of ourselves and how we can work together. I’m now able to function in the team because I understand what I offer, how it is useful, and my obligation to the group (Fischer, K. slide
Understanding why people do what they do has baffled people for centuries. The Myers-Briggs Personality test has answer a few of these questions. Are you an Extrovert or an Introvert, Sensor or iNtuitive, a Thinker or a Feeler, a Judger or Perceiver? Once you have the tools to understand yourself, you are capable of understanding others. How does your personality complement a coworker, a family member? How can I be more understanding based on my knowledge of how a coworker comes to conclusions about life and their surroundings? The Myers Briggs personality test to my sister, Karli Brewington. Karli Brewington is a ninth grader at Rock Hill High School in high academic achieving honors classes. Her rigorous class load and reading comprehension allowed her to understand a large majority of the questions on this test. Her results came back as ENFP ( E: extroverted, N: intuitive, F: feeling, and P: perception). This feedback is actually quite accurate for my sister. She is very curious and observant. My sister is also great at relaxing and being popular and very sociable. Her negative attributes are also very accurate. She has trouble focusing, overthinks in any circumstance, gets stressed out very easily, and is highly emotional in which
The Myers and Briggs personality test is unlike many of the personality tests you will find randomly online because it was designed to examine the ways in which you focus on the world and make everyday decisions. After taking this test myself I have found out a few things about myself that I did not really notice before. According to the Myers-Briggs test my personality type is INFP, which stands for Introversion, iNtuition, Feeling, and Perceiving. At the start of this test I had no idea that I was considered an introvert because as far as I can remember I have always loved being around people and never really thought about things before acting, which is the exact personality of an extrovert. The end of this personality test has a section that describes the different traits of those under that category and as for what it says about me I do feel that it matches some of my traits to a tee, but at the same time I feel like there are a few traits that are a bit off. Perso...
After taking this personality test I could not decide if I felt that my results were accurate about me or not. The personality test resulted in describing me as an extravert, intuitive, feeling, and judging (Humanmetrics,
Earth is populated by billions of people – one person different from the next. While physical traits like fingerprints and DNA give people their individual identity, there is more to identity than physical traits. The experience of tragedy and joy also plays a critical role in giving people their individual identity. Personality is the other factor that separates one person from others, and the personality of an individual depends heavily on his or her beliefs, culture, and the environment in which he or she is raised. There are several different types of personality tests that one can take to identify certain traits of his or her identity, and one of them is the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). According to MBTI and my life experience, as an ISTP I possess an inquisitive mind, an adventuresome spirit, and a desire to be active.
Throughout the beginning of this semester I have looked at how individuals behave within business organizations. Through various exercises and results, I have found a number of patterns within my behavior and interests. I have become aware what interests me, and a number of skills/abilities I was oblivious I had. This reflection and in class exercises has allowed me to expand my skills, abilities, and behaviors, well fitting them into prospective future employment.
I think overall the test was very accurate in describing my personality type. I am a nurturer, kind-hearted, and want to believe the best in people. The portrait of ISFJ’s was spot on, however, I disagree with some of the relationship weaknesses. They described my personality to be very emotionally needy, with a difficult time leaving a bad relationship, or moving on from an ended relationship. I have to disagree with this because I feel I am the type of person that once you lose my trust in a relationship, I am done with trying to make that relationship work. Once I have something against a person, it’s hard for me to over-look the issue, and just keep staying in the relationship. I am very independent and don’t rely much on others for my
After taking the online personality test I learned that I am an INTJ personality. Consequently, this was not a big surprise for me because I had already taken a similar test in my psychology class and ended up with the same result. I did not learn how accurate the test was the first time since I did not do further analysis on the exact meaning of my personality type. The 16 personality type’s website de...

Before taking the Myers-Briggs Interactive Test, I didn’t really know what to expect or what kind of questions I would be answering in order to determine what my personality type would be. Afterwards however, I wasn’t too surprised with my results of the test. Out of the sixteen different personality types, I got the INFJ personality type which simply means dominant introverted intuition. All of those letters were pretty self-explanatory and accurate according to how my temperament and personality are. The statistical conclusion was 67% introvert (I), 38% intuitive (N), 50% feeling (F), and 56% judging (J). Therefore I had a distinctive preference of introversion over extraversion, a moderate preference of intuition over sensing, a moderate preference of feeling over thinking, and a moderate preference of judging over perceiving.
I really love personality psychology, so one of the best ways I know how to describe the type of person I am is to say that I am an INFJ personality type. My primary mode of living is focused internally, where I take things in primarily via intuition and instinct. INFJ 's are empaths, so we have a great and pretty unique ability to feel and understand what others are feeling with little to no explicit information given to us at all (sometimes we are actually compared to psycics). My secondary mode is external, which is how I made decisions, and it is where I deal with things according to how I feel about them, or how they fit with my personal value system. I would like to think that I am an intelligent, patient, caring and compassionate, encouraging, highly intuitive, gentle,
