Breast Cancer Abnormality Essay

The abnormality I have been researching is breast cancer type number one and type number 2. This abnormality is form of cancer that invades the breast tissue. A group of cancer cells form together to make a tumar, creating breast cancer. Breast cancer type one is found in chromosome number 17 and breast cancer type 2 is found in chromosome number 13.

Breast cancer shows many different symptoms, although the most accurate and early detection is a lump of tissue that can be detected by a mammogram. A mammogram is an x-ray that examines suspicious areas and lumps of tissue in the breast. However there are other signs of breast cancer including, swelling of all or part of the breast, skin irritation or dimpling, breast or nipple pain, nipple discharge other than breast milk, and nipple retraction turning inward.

Breast cancer progression is in the form of four stages, each of which describes different growth of the cancer. In stage one the cancer cells are confined to a very limited area. This stage is still early, but it shows that there is definitely cancer in the breast. Stage two is when the cancer has already begun growing, the cancer grows and spread throughout the breast. Stage three is

when the cancer is considered advanced. This stage shows signs that the cancer is invading surrounding tissue near the breast. Stage four, the last stage and the deadliest stage, the cancer has begun spreading beyond the breast to other parts of the body like the brain, bones, lungs, and liver.
Breast cancer has many different treatments.

The two most common treatments are a mastectomy, which is the surgery that removes one or both breasts, the other treatment. The other most common treatment is a lumpectomy this is where the surgeons remove the tumor and other areas around it to make sure the cancer is gone. There are other treatments such as Chemotherapy regimen, Chemotherapy ensures that all cancer cells are dead. Although the Chemotherapy has side-effects including the loss of hair and being very sick. Chemo acts as a poison to ensure all of the cancer cells in the breast are wiped out. Other treatments such as Anastrozole, Trastuzumab, Cyclophosphamide, Zoledronic acid, Letrozole, and Exemestane, aren’t as common but are still put in use to treat breast

cancer.
Is breast cancer fatal? Breast cancer is most definitely fatal, if the cancer cells spread to other parts of the body it becomes deadly. Early detection is key to surviving this cancer due to the cancerous cells spreading. The cancer can take over your body.

Research is being done everyday for breast cancer. The ost common research around breast cancer is the treatments, causes, and preventions. The research is being done througout many different medical centers around the world such as The American Cancer Society. Along with the medical enters, surgeons, and scientist are also researching this disease.
Breast cancer has been around since 460 B.C., Hippocrates, the father of Western Medicine, described breast cancer as a humoral disease.
