Welcome to Brazil, it has awesome events and foods to enjoy, come and discover with Jason Kan. There are six categories I'm going to talk about, they are geographical features, economy, culture, tourist attractions, hotels and restaurants, and the exchange rate. First, the geographical features of Brazil is the Amazon Rainforest, it is 2.124 million sq miles. It is a moist broadleaf forest that caps most of the Amazon Basin of South America. It extends pretty long it is 2,965 mi north-south, 2,691 mi east-west, and bounds every country on the continent except Chile and Ecuador. The exports is transport equipment, iron ore, footwear, soybeans, and coffee. Then, the culture of Brazil has the three main foods, which are Misto, Pastel, and Tapioca. There is 80% Roman Catholic in Brazil. The ethnic make-up is that white is 56%, mixed white and black are 38%, black is 6%, and other is 1%. Their main language is Portuguese. After, is the tourist attractions, which consists of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and Copacabana Beach. The 2014 FIFA World Cup started on Thursday, June 12 and ended on Sunday, July 13. There are 64 matches, one team plays with another team and the winning team advances. The final match was Germany against Argentina and the winner of the whole World Cup was Germany. Copacabana Beach located at the Atlantic shore, stretches from Posto Dois to Posto Seis. There are historic strongholds at both ends of Copacabana beach. Fort Copacabana was built in 1914. Next are the hotels and restaurants, the first hotel is called Crowne Plaza Belem, which costs $93 per night. The second hotel is called Quality Hotel Petrolina, which costs $56 per night. Brazil is bound to host in a two-year span the largest sport events in the World, The 2014 Soccer World Cup and The Olympic games in 2016. The country will attract a lot of investors looking for some brand exposure since the whole world will have their eyes turned to this tropical country. These events present opportunities for Brazil to benefit from tourism and prove to the world that it is ready to take its place as an important piece of global governance. Although Brazil has a flourishing economy, it still has many characteristics of a third world country. Social issues remain present in the country’s politics. There are several concerns regarding the capability of an emerging country to host events with that stature.
The first chapter focuses on Brazil’s founding and history up until present. When the Portuguese were blown off course to Asia onto the coasts of Brazil in 1500, the Portuguese knew they had found a land filled with opportunities. The main attraction was the abundance of brazilwood which could be used for manufacturing luxurious fabrics in Europe. Over the centuries, exploration led to the discovery of more resources such as sugar, coffee, and precious metals that had made it a sought after country for colonization. Even to this day, Brazil maintains the image of a land with limitless resources since the recent discovery of oil and gas reserves and other commodities.
Brazil with a population around 201,032,714, is the largest South America’s country. Brazil’s most important components of its GDP are service revenues, wide industry sector and its successful agriculture.
Did you know that Peru is one of the top ten countries to visit in the world? (UNWTO) Peru has unique music and energetic dances that are fun to see. The people are friendly and charming; they would be happy to help one find their way if they need help. But, the main reason Peru appears on the top ten list is because of its unique geographical features. Some examples are the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu and Cusco. The art and culture of the Peruvians, as well as the people themselves,and the popular places to go, are what tourists like to see in Peru.
Northeast Brazil has limited vegetation as it is the driest part of the country. While most of the country experiences hot temperatures in general, some regions do experience mild to cool winters however never cold enough for snow. Brazil is home to the famous Amazon rainforest which is home to many exotic plants and animals. Some challenges to agriculture growth and animal life is deforestation as well as acid rain.

You probably heard of Brazil but, do you know much about it? Brazil is a beautiful place or country, in South America. It’s great for tourists’ sites; it has amazing land features, and especially cool culture and history. Brazil has a tremendous amount of nature and folktale. Brazil was found actually, over 8,000 years ago. The Portuguese were the first European settlers to arrive there. The journey was led by Pedro Cabral who began in the 1500s. When they finally got there they found Native Americans living there. They were around the seven millions.
Should a teenager who made a critical mistake have to serve a life without parole sentence for one moment’s mistake? Nathaniel Brazil did and he is still in prison today. I agree that the majority of supreme court justices who passed the law making mandatory life sentences without parole for juveniles who commit first or second degree murder are unfair and even unconstitutional because they are still children which make them immature in all aspects. Their brains are still not fully developed, and they make rash or quick decisions without thinking about long term consequences due to this. To give a juvenile a whole life sentence without parole for a moment's mistake or decision that was made when they haven't fully developed or learned what

The definition of literacy being those who are aged fifteen and older who can read and write, the literacy rate in Brazil is 83% for the entire population. Before 1930, the Brazilian economy was dominated by a number of agricultural and mineral products for export.
Brazil is both the fifth largest country in the world based off of land size and population (World Factbook). Brazil has used this demographic as a strength in its efforts to find some sort of stability in a very unstable economic climate. Brazil is the largest national economy in Latin America the world's eighth largest economy at market exchange rates and the and 10 in purchasing power parity (PPP) or GDP, according to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank (World Fact Book). There are many factors to the development of the Brazilian economy, each having an impact, but the development is not complete.

Brazil's economy has a lot of potential. Throughout Brazilian economic history, the government has had an economic policy based on import substitution and it was also trying to switch from agriculture to industry. To insentivate domestic industry, the government established protective tariffs and import quotas. Most of the enterprises were owned by State such as: steel, oil, infrastructure, and others. These firms also received subsidize "long-term credit expand." For these reasons it had been difficult to establish ventures in Brazil.
