Recommended: The braveheart's main plot

In an epic battle to avenge the love of his life, William Wallace battles the entire English army in the suspenseful movie Braveheart. William Wallace’s newly beloved wife is shopping in the town square when the town bishop attacks her. The king of England had just declared prima nocta, which states the nobleman of the land had sexual rights to the bride on the first night of her wedding. William Wallace and his wife were married in secrecy because he would not share her with anyone. When the nobleman discovered she had been married and he hadn’t had her first he became enraged. Wallace’s bride fights back and eventually has her throat cut. This causes uproar in the village after her death. While avenging her death, Wallace gathers up the free …show more content…

The director’s use of scenery, accents, and the story line are far superior to that of similar themed movies such as Gladiator and Troy. Although all three are great, Braveheart has a way of drawing its viewers in until the last seconds of the film. While the movie is lengthy, the story would not be as remarkable if even one plot had been left out. Braveheart has won numerous awards, including some at the Academy Awards and the Global Globe awards. A few of the awards Braveheart has received at the Academy Awards include Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing, and Best Makeup (Braveheart Awards). Braveheart will go down as one of the greatest movies in any genre and in any decade. Although my opinion may be viewed as biased due to my adoration for this movie, I believe it would be difficult for another movie to compete with Braveheart. “After Wallace’s victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, against a far larger English army, the people gave Wallace the title ‘Guardian of Scotland’, and he even led his forces into England. However, he lost later battles, resigned his Guardianship and went to France, where some say he tried to gain the French King’s help. Finally, the photography surrounding the waterfall is unconvincing. Other than those few things the film was great. From beginning to end, there isn't a weak performance. Finally, there's the story, which, while not all that complex, is of epic nature.
