Recommended: Boyhood movie analysis
To me, the movie Boyhood, stuck out to me for so many reasons. The most important reason for why it stuck out to me is because it changed the way I thought about life and people. It made me realize that I should be grateful for what I have, because not everyone has the same advantages or luck that I have in life. Another reason as to why this movie opened my eyes, is that it made me stop comparing myself to others, and only worry about myself, or those that matter to me. Nobody is identical and we are all different in our own ways. The last reason this movie stays in my head is because it does an amazing job teaching you life values and showed me how someone so comparable to me can be so different. The reason why it taught me to be grateful for what I have and for who I am, is because the main character Mason was dealt an unfortunate hand of life. From the start of the movie, we get to see that Mason grows up in a broken family. His mother is …show more content…
It follows the life of Mason, from his child years all the way until he becomes a young man, and goes to college. It shows the struggles that he faced in life, and showed how it shaped him into the man he became. It did an amazing job in teaching me life lessons. It made me rethink my life choices, and opened my eyes about the real life. When I think about it, the struggles he faced were considerably similar to the ones I have faced. I noticed this when I was comparing myself to him, which I no longer do, I saw that he was very much human like all of us. I thought Mason was an amazing character, he was independent, intelligent, and strong willed. Even when he had to face his abusive father, he remained strong and stayed himself. Personally, I think this movie would stick with most men, more than woman, considering the main plot is following the life of a boy for 12 years. This is why Boyhood has stuck with me, it taught me amazing life lessons, and improve my life
For me I found that to this day, the Native Americans still lead a rough life due to what the white man has done to them in the past. However, instead of buckling under the pressure of centuries, much of their culture still struggles and lives on inside each successive generation. I would recommend this movie to anyone, and I'm sure that I will end up sending it to my family back home. Not only would I recommend watching the movie, but I would urge all to see beneath the surface story and find the hidden messages underneath.
It 's not always about how things look on the outside, but more about your inner self. More about getting those individuals to believe in themselves. The film helped me to see the value of building up self esteem. I know in math some of the kids that say they don’t like math just had a bad experience with it. Usually I’ll try and give them something simple just to start to let them feel a sense of accomplishment. Then I usually will continue to build from there. This film never gets old. It’s still very relatable today and a young audience would be able to see themselves in any of those characters. This film reminded me that kids are coming to class with many different experiences, emotional phases, as well as insecurities. I must remain cognizant of them along with continuing to be that positive role model they need. I would recommend this film to anyone that has kids they would like to keep encouraged as well the ones they believe are
There are many more examples throughout this movie that can be connected or assessed to the many different concepts that was learned. There are many real-life events and these concepts are important because they allow people to see how different types of people and families deal with stress and problems and it is important not to judge or jump to conclusions and maybe take a step back and take time to consider what others may be going
The movie Night John was incredible with its expression of such realistic telling of slave lives and the passion they had to be free. The movie which centers on the young Sarnay from birth through an amazing journey of learning to read. John is the Harriet Tubman of the movie standing as more of mythical figure rather than just a man. He was bent on freeing other slaves so much he returned from the North to help others see the light. In my opinion the light, or freedom, that John was trying to bring and instill was that of knowledge and the power that could arise from this knowledge without fear of the consequences. He uses a pupil to instill power, but also confidence to stand up and want more freedom. After being showed how to read there
The movie Crash educates the viewers on the effects of racism, and the negativity it places in our society. The interpersonal communication that was played out throughout the movie, made me more conscientiously aware, of how I interact with different ethnicities, so as not to offend
This movie was inspiring and encouraging to anyone who is struggling with something. Overcoming his controversies in life became the main point of the movie. Knowing that this movie was based upon a true story inspires the people even more.
The movie teaches us to look beyond the cover and into who someone is as a person. We also learn that sometimes contact with people makes us reconsider our judgement towards them, to find out the real person underneath.
Who we are as a person has a lot to due with the various kinds of influences that we may encounter through different events, personal experiences, stories, and by others. Surprisingly enough movies can have a large impact on us, that can really change who we are. The Blind Side, August Rush, and The Devil Wears Prada, are among the many different films that have had a significant impact me on how I live my life and see the world. Films have a way of influencing people into thinking and believing in ways they may have never thought in before.
In the film Babies there are four babies from four different cultural backgrounds, languages and socioeconomic statuses. While each babies’ development is different, they have one thing in common, they nurtured by those around them. The first baby is Ponijao who is the youngest of nine children from the village of Namibia, South Africa; baby Baya from Mongolia, East Asia; Hattie Bradshaw from San Francisco, California in the United States, and Mari from Tokyo, Japan.
I believe this movie does a good job incorporating what we have discussed in class in terms of adolescent development. Although the movie is greatly exaggerated and blown up, the movie does emphasize on key factors to the development of an adolescent. Aside from the self-identity and friendship, the film incorporates parental relationships, academics, teacher-student relationships, risky behaviors, and moral development during adolescent
I have chosen to review the film Boyhood written by Richard Linklater that took twelve years to film. In the movie Boyhood, it illustrates the life of a boy named Mason Jr. through the many stages of his childhood to adolescence to becoming an adult. The movie follows Mason Jr.’s life through his years of kindergarten, middle school, high school, and to college. Through these milestones in his life encounters society with socialization, culture and norms that are exhibited through his family, friends, and others. With factors of social classes, and gender that influence Mason Jr. as he grows and fits into the society that is formed. From the events and milestones in Boyhood, it is able to show human behaviour in society from our
The lion king I believed can be forever remembered for the impact it had on the world and they way it took the world by storm. It was an epic and memorable movie that took my imagination by storm. Talking lions and singing blew my mind away. As I got older I could appreciate the amazing story telling and impact this movie had on my life and the way it made me look at the world. Watching the movie sometimes I forget that its an animated movie because the voice actors and the storytelling is so convincing that it could be a live movie. This movie grabbed my imagination as a child and still holds my attention to this day when I watch it.
The movie Sicko evaluates the medical services and shows the U.S. government 's role in policing the medical profession. Before I watched this movie, I thought that living in America was living the American dream. However, this American dream is only a façade or an illusion that takes my mind away from some of America 's flaws. In this documentary, the director and writer Michael Moore exposes the dysfunctional health care system in the United States, which sacrifice essential health services in order to maximize profits and insurance companies, which pay bonuses to employees who are successful in denying coverage and claims. They are in the business of finding reasons not to spend money. Health insurance does not protect you from not paying.
Mason was throughout the movie a continually evolving character, both biologically, cognitively and socio-emotionally. The film takes place over the course of 12 years, and it was shot over the course of 12 years. So basically, we watched Mason and the actors getting older for real for 12 years. It makes the movie and characters more original. Ellar Coltrane was a 6 year old boy when he was casted to be the character as Mason for the movie “Boyhood.” Mason was just entering in middle childhood, and basically the next 12 years of his life was already planned out for him. Mason was a little skinny child at the beginning of the movie. His older sister Samantha; was taller than Mason, and she loved to frustrate him. Mason did not like that. Samantha
Not only does this movie deal with the issues of society, but it points to biblical scriptures that help lead us in the right direction. The biggest lesson that this film taught me was that if I put my complete faith in God, then no matter what happens, he will provide, watch over, and take care of me. I learned that expressing belief in God is not enough. I have to live everyday believing and trusting him and I have to show my trust and faith through my actions and my words.
