The internet is an universal collection of millions of computers and networks combined in a larger network. Therefore, no one owns or runs the internet. There are providers controlling each network and each network is locally funded and administered. The internet provides a ton of information varying from games to food recipes. It serves general knowledge on any topic and is available to anyone who can access it. All the information we are able to access are organized by using hypermedia, which uses hypertext. Hypermedia is a document embedded with references to audio, text, images, video, and other documents. Hypertext is a form of codes for links consumers can click on. One of the greatest things about the internet is allowing us to socialize with others wherever and whenever we want. We are able to communicate with our family and friends all around the world. However, what happens if in ten years from now, the internet becomes the Boutique Network. The Boutique Network is a reductive nonetheless de-centralized model of all networks. Our government and service providers are beginning to take control and altering the internet into independent intranets.
The internet is becoming increasingly predominant in the daily lives of today’s society. We use the internet at both our homes and at work for personal and professional usages. People may instantly find specific information they need in a short period. On the other hand, most people use the internet as a form of communication within each other in the community. Back in the old days, we often have to send a letter and then wait for a reply. Nowadays, with the internet, it is easier to put our information up online, allowing more people to view them. ...r, it may not go back to being an unfamiliar store. For example, Macy’s department store was a small store, which opened on the corner of 14th Street and 6th Avenue in New York City in 1858. Macy’s was known for their first creative merchandising and was the first retailer to hold a New York City liquor license. By November 1902, Macy’s had outgrown its department store and moved to 34th Street Herald Square, where it attracted more shoppers all around the world. Similar to intranet, it is smaller and only few consumers or companies use this type of networking system. Intranet operators can use internet but not the other way around. So in the future, intranet will eventually become more popular and more widely used.
