Cake Pop Crush is a great book. Especially if you like baking. Here is the summary for this great book. Ali Ramirez knows that baking is in her blood. For as long as she can remember, she’s spent every afternoon helping her father in their family bakery, Say It With Flour. But when Perk Up, a hugely successful coffeehouse, opens up across the street from their bakery, it means trouble. Perk Up’s baked goods are trendy and delish, and Say It With Flour just can’t compete. But then Ali convinces her dad to try cake pops in the bakery and they’re a huge hit. There’s only one problem: Dane McGuire. He’s cute, smart, and as the son of Perk Up’s CEO, he’s her biggest rival. Ali can’t stand him, especially when she discovers that he’s making cake pops for Perk Up that are outselling hers by the dozens. Ali knows the only way to save Say It With Flour is to outbake Dane at any cost. Dane swears he’s not her enemy, though, and sometimes he can be disarmingly sweet. But if Ali loses her heart to Dane, will she lose her beloved bakery as well? In this essay i will tell you the theme of this book the internal conflict and what point of view this book is in. …show more content…
One of the themes for this story is keep your enemies close but your friends closer.
I think this is one of the themes because in the story Ali is always trying to beat Dane and she loses one of her friends but the good thing is she gets them back. Another one of the themes in this story is Try,Try again and don't give up because multiple times in the story she almost gave up but she pushed through and tried
again. One of the internal conflicts for the is story is whether Ali should trust Dane or not. In the story he sounds bad kinda because he threw away her cake pop and trashed her welcome note on his first day of school which is very disrespectful specially on your first day at your new school, so she hasn't liked him ever since. The second internal conflict in this story is if she should give up on her baking dream. So in the story when Perk Up comes her family is starting to lose money and they can't keep the bakery open any longer at one point in the story she almost gives up everything her bakery, her dreams and most of all her baking but eventually one of her friends help her and she ends up saving her bakery. This story is written in first person. I think it is written in first person is because you can only hear Ali’s thoughts you can't hear Danes or her father’s thoughts either just hers. if this story was written like 3rd person or something it would totally change the whole story then you would be able to see how Dane feels about his Dd and about just anything. You would also see how her Dad personally feels about cake pops and closing down the shop. It wouldn't be Ali’s story i it was written in 3rd person it would technically be everybody's story. If you really liked this story i think you should read because it's a great book for kids our age and after you read the book and you should go check out Suzanne Nelson's other books like You're Bacon Me Crazy, or Macarons at Midnight and Hot Cocoa Hearts. I haven't read Macarons at Midnight or Hot Cocoa Hearts, but the people who know me well know i am going to find those books and read the in a matter of to days. If you liked this essay you should go check out all f Suzanne Nelson books. And remember always TRY, TRY, and TRY AGAIN!!!!!
31 percent of children under 18 only live with one parent in America today. In Confetti Girl and Tortilla Sun, both kids are living with a single parent. In both stories, the parent and their kid do not understand each other's wants and needs. The parents both push interests on their kids and make decisions for them. This is most likely due t their lack of communication. In the stories Confetti Girl and Tortilla Sun, the authors use different points of view to create tension between the single parent and their kid when they are trying to connect.
The Perks of a Wallflower, written by Stephen Chbosky, is a captivating novel that follows the transformation of a boy referred to as Charlie throughout his freshman year of high school. During the course of the book Charlie, his sister, and friends fall in and out of relationships. Each one of them is seeking the love and attention of another person, even without directly expressing their emotions. Love is a recurring theme in this book, even though it is shown in different ways.
Amir’s development from being “a boy who won’t stand up for himself,” to a man that stands up for the morally responsible thing to do (22, Hosseini). When Amir was a child, he tried to escape from his sins in the past by hiding them with lies. However, this only made it worse for Amir, causing him to be an insomniac for much of his life and putting himself through constant torment. Only when Amir became a man, like Baba wanted him to be, was Amir able to face the truth of what he done and put himself on the path of redemption. Even when Amir was suffering a violent beating from Assef, Amir was able to laugh because he knew he was doing what he should have for Hassan years ago. Amir’s development from a child, who lies in order to cower from their own mistakes, into a man, someone who is not only able to admit his sins, but atone for them, is essential to communicating the theme of redemption being the only way to settle with your
The major themes related directly to the entire context of the story. The formidable mother-daughter conflict going on throughout the story exposed the clash of their cultural roots. The conflict showed the theme where the mother does not understand the game of chess and does not accept Waverly playing it. Also, it showed it when Waverly felt embarrassed by her mother using her as a trophy metaphorically. Another theme is the symbolic games of chess that Waverly played. Without the use of symbolism the story would have lost a major impact on the plotline. Also, Amy Tan used setting to her advantage to fully show the tone of the story and created a scene of emotion. Its major theme of mother-daughter relationship made it possible for young children to relate the short story to their own
a reason for Hassan's death. This sin of theft is also one of the thing that really humanizes Baba, and shows him going back on his one rule making him more like Amir, so in a way the sin of theft brings them closer even after death. Another theme shown in the book is redemption. Redemption is shown in Amir's beating, “Another rib snapped, this time left lower. What
Love, one of the biggest aspects of human nature, affects everyone in different ways. In the novel by Stephen Chbosky, “the Perks of Being a Wallflower,” the main character Charlie, negatively affected by his loving relationship with his aunt Helen, develops many social issues. The novel, a coming of age story about overcoming many obstacles as a teenager, follows the main character, Charlie, and the challenges he faces. Throughout the story, Charlie struggles with the loss of his beloved aunt. When he begins High school, he has a harder time than the typical teenager for many reasons. His close relationship with his beloved aunt is the source of his companionship issues, depression, and insecurities.
The theme is supported in the whole story and Jesus help to support the theme. The direction of this story follows good and evil with a criminal situation that most be destine to happen. I think the Misfits will be punished, but I would have loved to read about it in this story. The grandmother's hope in God seemed to be coming to the end. Flannery O'Connor brings her reader through a tuff time to let them understand the theme of our society and how it’s constantly changing.
The book “This Boy’s Life” by Tobias Wolff is a memoir written about the author’s childhood memories and experiences. The author shows many different characters within the book. Many of them are just minor character that does not affect the author much in his life choices and thoughts throughout his growth. But there are some that acts as the protagonist and some the antagonist. One of them is Dwight, the protagonist’s or Jack’s stepfather. This character seems to be one of the characters that inhibit Jack’s choices and decisions. This character plays a huge role in Jack’s life as it leaves a huge scar in his memory. The author here spends the majority of time in this character in the memoir to show the readers the relationship between Jack and Dwight.
A large part of the novel deals with Amir trying to redeem himself. First with his Baba by trying to win the kite fighting tournament because Amir feels as though his father blames him for his mothers death. The the larger act of redemption occurs when trying to rid himself of the guilt of letting Hassan be rape...
... the theme of a story can be seen in the three short stories Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, What You Pawn I Will Redeem by Sherman Alexie, and The Moustache by Robert Cormier. In the first it helps develop the theme that we truly do not want equality among all people, in fact we want all people to have the same opportunities. In the second it helps with the theme that generosity can get you far in life and that helping others can in turn help you. Finally, in the last it helps develop the theme that one should not attempt to grow up faster than they already are. That is how symbolism can be seen being used by authors to help develop a theme throughout a story.
An example of a theme that Rudolfo Anaya focuses on is revenge. "It will only end when blood is spilled" The character that states this is named Samuel and is wise beyond his years, and explains that once revenge is sought, there is no peaceable end to it and once violence becomes the reason to settle something, it will inevitably lead to more violence. This connects with the reader through the repeated mistake that history has repeated throughout time and time again, that violence, which eventually leads to war ends

The irony of the story is that her husband is alive, but she is dead when he reaches home. The tragic death of her husband help her to grasp the beauty of life and the fact that she does not have much more time to live it. In an hour of time she comes to peace with herself and wins her "battle".
In the end of both stories no matter the efforts they use to obtain their desire, both fail miserably in their attempts to win the young woman over. It is the lesson of rude awakening that Joyce and Updike show in these crucial moments of despair. Both stories teach a life lesson that sometimes the painful road is needed to gain a life experience.
The characters in this book are very round. They each have their own story and have their own problems in life. Let’s start ...
