Bonnie and Clyde became so well known due to the fact that Bonnie was such an unlikely criminal, she was described as a dim romantic and self-styled poet who dreamed of appearing on Broadway but had to settle for waitressing (Hunter, 2009). From her association with outlaws such as Jesse James and the Younger brothers, she reached a level of fantastic infamy that today leaves the facts of her life not always distinguishable from the fiction. The 1920's was a time of great social change with new prosperity, new ideas but most importantly a time of heroes. These so called heroes defined the era and were the role models for the people of this time period. They brought on hope and enlightenment after the horrific times that they had gone through with the depression and the war. The role of women changed, sports and entertainment stars were celebrated and modern technology changed America's landscape. The twenties were a time when people laughed more often than cried, partied more often than worked, and dreamed more often than faced reality.

John Brown was an anti-slavery renowned abolitionist in the mid-1800’s. He was famous, or in other’s opinions infamous, for his violent roles in the Pottawattamie Massacre and the Raid on Harpers Ferry. He got his anti-slavery ways from his father. His first attempts to end slavery failed, but when he heard about “Bleeding Kansas”, he and his sons went to fight for a free, anti-slave country. His sons died heroically, and he was hung. I believe John Brown was a martyr who was fighting for an important cause.
Also, how can that relate to Johnny Cash?” Johnny Cash had a good life after a long bad life. Johnny had both bright and dark side in his life. Johnny was known as J. R. Then, his name changed to be Johnny. Vivian Liberto was his wife until 1966. The drugs, women, and alcohol were the main reason why Cash and Liberto got divorced. He got arrested and put into jail because he smuggled amphetamines into the United States! Johnny Cash said “All your life, you will be faced with a choice. You can choose love or hate, I choose love.”. (CASH, 2015). They have only one child, John Carter Cash, who was born in March 1970. Their child now became a singer, songwriter, and author too. John’s like that. He’s a very rare man, a very good man, and I’ve had a good life with him. I’m proud to be walking in the wake of Johnny’s fame.” (Shuang)
The films protagonists Kit Caruthers (Martin Sheen) and Holly (Sissy Spacek) are loosely based on the real life adolescent criminals Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate. Starkweather and Fugate become infamous after their murder spree through Nebraska and Wyoming in the 1950’s, however the story of two young fugitives in love is not one that is unfamiliar with audiences; the most notable is Arthur Penn’s Bonnie and Clyde (1967). The character of Kit also bears a resemblance to Jim Stark, James Dean’s character i...
Maya Angelou once remarked, “I think that a hero is any person really intent on making this a better place for all people.” Depending on who the inquiry is posed to though, diverse answers may result from the question of, “what is a hero?” I believe that a hero is someone who inspires through their phenomenal precedents, benevolent behaviors, and possesses qualities not ordinarily seen in our culture. Angelou aspired to convey the idea that kindness and heroism are not mutually exclusive, but instead fit together effectively to produce the heroes held in high regard in our society. No matter what one might admire about a certain hero-- bravery, patience, or strength-- kindness lacks not in these traits, but rather encompasses them. For why
Was Andrew Carnegie a hero? That is the question is it not. It is a question that makes even the most knowledgeable of historians a pause.
