Have you ever watched someone who for some mysterious reason puts you in the most relaxed and peaceful mood ever ? Maybe you know such a person in real life or perhaps such a person you may not know personally ,but you see him or her on TV or the movies. Well, that's my case. Although it would be very nice to actually have a person like that in my life (although I do have some friend and family members who do put me to ease), I used to watch a certain celebrity on TV years ago who actually had the power to give me an ultra-relaxed attitude. In fact, he was a very good painter and artist as well, and I'll always be a fan of his work AND calming demeanor. Some of you may have heard of him. His name was Bob Ross, and he had a painting …show more content…
For example, he had this technique for painting mountains. To paint a mountain, Bob would usually use a knife-like tool to "outline" and color the mountains in usually a brown color. He would then use a mixture of a tannish-white color, and use it to paint a second coating on the mountain's outline. The result would look like a real mountain, with shadows and a "Frosted" white look. Another example was Bob's technique for lakes and other bodies of water. He'd first paint the lake and then put little touches on the lake such as reflections and little ripples. Of course, when I did it, it was a challenge at first. Bob made it seem so easy, and how the heck did he do it in 30 minutes ?! Sadly, Bob Ross passed away at the age of 52 on July 4, 1995. But in my eyes, Bob Ross's legacy will never die, and his work will always be a part of my life and happiness. I owe him a lot of gratitude for how he inspired my life, and the calm and ease he has always given me. If I ever had the chance to meet Bob in person, I'd tell him something that he himself always said at the end of his shows. I'd say "Thank you Bob, and God Bless". ...e morphed it into the quartzite that is seen surrounding the butte (4). Rocks that undergo this process are called metamorphic rock, which is the same as the rock seen years ago by dinosaurs and other extinct creatures. The quartzite rocks were formerly seafloor sediment that was forced upwards, and then surrounded by lava basalt flows. Once erupted through fissures and floods through out most of the area, lava flow eventually created enough basalt to form a thickness of about 1.8 kilometers (1). All of this basalt flow eventually led to the covering of most mountains, leaving the buttes uncovered. The igneous lava flows and loess is reasons that the Palouse consists of such sprawling hills, and rich soil for farming (2). In result of the lava flows, the Precambrian rock Quartzite was formed. And lastly covered by the glacial loess, which were carried by the wind.

The colors are very specific, and there are sets of colors expressly grouped together for various types of paintings. There are sets for landscapes, flowers and wildlife painting. His style can be emulated using other brands of paints, but if the artist uses different shades of a color, the mixture will not result in the same tone found on a Ross painting. Lamp Black and Ivory Black may not blend exactly the same. Mixing green from yellow and Prussian Blue will not be the same green as yellow mixed with Phthalo Blue.

Don Imus had a radio talk show. One day he was discussing the NCAA Women's Championship and the Rutger's women's basketball team. He and his co-worker were saying very inappropriate things about the women's basketball team. They called them thing such as, "hardcore hoes," "rough women," and "nappy-headed hos." Imus was trying to defend himself by saying the term, "nappy-headed hos" came from a black community. They weren't fired at first but only suspended shortly after his apology statement. Apparently this hasn't been the first time Imus has said some racist thing. causing some people to believe he shouldn't be able to come back after the suspension. Imus ended up getting pulled from his talk show.
