Biography of Cesc Fabregas The rise to stardom of a young soccer sensation by the name of "Francesc Cesc Fabregas Soler" has been nothing short of remarkable. Better known as Cesc Fabregas, Cesc has achieved more in his career at the slender age of 20 years old then most soccer players have achieved in their whole careers, and yet his skills and stardom can only increase with more seasons behind him Cesc Fabregas was born on the May 4, 1987 in Arenys de Mar, Catalonia, Spain. He was destined to be a soccer player and was signed up by Spanish giants Barcelona FC at the age of 13 as a trainee. Cesc was being touted as one of the best of Spain's next generation of footballers. With this in mind, during the summer of 2003 and a few months after turning 16, the England based club "Arsenal" decided to make a plunge for the teenage sensation and poached him from Barcelona for nothing, due to the fact that he was still on a youth contract and that he could of only signed a professional contract with Barcelona when you turn 17 years old. Three months after consistent performances in both the Arsenal youth and reserve teams, Cesc made history in October 2003 when he became the youngest player to turn out for Arsenal, in the Carling Cup tie against Rotherham United aged just 16 years 177 days when he took to the pitch for the Gunners. His second appearance for Arsenal resulted on him becoming the youngest goal scorer for Arsenal in a 5-1 Carling Cup thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Cesc would not make another appearance for the senior squad that season as Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger seemed it necessary for Cesc to continue his progress through the youth squad. At the end of that season Fabregas was voted the player of the tournament at the 2003 FIFA Under-17 World Championship and won the Golden Boot after his six goals helped Spain reach the final. It was that tournament that finally made his manager finally decided to thrust him into the spotlight and the following season saw the Spaniard make the breakthrough into the first-team proper, when he was selected to appear in the Charity Shield match against Manchester United.
