William Sanford Nye, or more commonly referred to as Bill Nye, was born in Washington DC. His parents were geniuses like Bill. Fun fact, his mom helped out in WWII by breaking codes and his father was held at a Japanese prison of war. As a kid, Nye went to the private Sidwell Friends School. He later enrolled at Cornell University, where he studied mechanical engineering. Nye went on to begin his career at The Boeing Company in Seattle once he had earned his Bachelor of Science degree.
