My informative speech, I believe went well. My speech was about the microsoft billionaire Bill Gates. I informed the audience about his life and how he overcame the obstacles he had in life to be in the place he is right now. Also I talked about his life as a kid, young adult, and his present life. This speech was very important to me because Bill Gates is one of the few people that I try to follow as a mentor due to his success as an entrepreneur, work ethic, and also never giving up.
The preparation for this speech was critical in order for me to have a successful informative speech. From learning about him a few months back, I had a basic idea on how he was like. But after really getting to know him I had more of clear idea who Bill Gates

As a wise professor once said “ The part that people remember the most is the beginning and the last” (Dubois) . So I tried to make this parts the best of my ability. So I looked the most interesting information about him and apply it to my introduction and then I told everybody how Bill Gates can influence their life in a way in the conclusion. Moving on, Some of my strengths in this informative speech I believe were speaking in a proper tone of voice, having lots of information about the topic, and finally making the speech interesting to hear. However they are some things I need to work on such as being on proper time, better sources and also trying to be more relax when I present so I don’t breeze through my speech. With some more work and making a little adjustment. I know that I could give a better and more informative speech that people would and love and be interested about. In conclusion, they are some things that I need to work on such as time of speech and being more fluid. But also they are good things that I did to prepare this speech as time management and appealing to the audience by making them feel interested in the topic. With a little bit more work and preparation, I know I can make my next speech the best it can
adequate. Hickam did use good transitions between his main points. The speech did expand my
Bill Gates has had a mammoth effect not only in America, but also the world. Bill Gates is the man people credited for creating the success of Microsoft, and the Xbox gaming console. However, Forbes magazine says, “The world will remember Bill Gates”(Forbes). Yes, the world will remember Bill Gates not because he was the richest man in the world for 14 years straight (Forbes), but because of all his efforts overseas and how he encourages other wealthy people to share their money with the less fortunate. If we look just in our own houses we see the effects of Bill Gates, almost every computer has Microsoft word and PowerPoint. In this paper, we will talk about all the impact Bill Gates has had not only in America but also the world.
Biography of Bill Gates. Narr. Harry Smith. PBS Channel 13 Special Presentation. Class Film. HSS 100-022. Spring Semester, February 8, 2002.
While watching my video I did notice that I was able to understand and clearly know what the main point was. I spoke in a clear and a tone loud enough for everyone to hear. The speech was organized very well, so one idea or thought flowed to the next. I don’t think I need to change anything in regards to my central idea being clear. I was satisfied with that part of the speech.
However, I did notice that there were a few faults in the presentation, one being a fault that I personally consider may have negatively impacted our presentation. It seems to me that I was not able to deliver the presentation to the best of my ability as I had let my nerves get the best of me when talking to the staff. The reason for this was that I was not comfortable with taking on the speaking role that I was given and that there were last minute changes made to my slides right before presenting. Bruner, (1996) stated that the learning process for staff relies on the “meaningful dialogue” that is presented by the presenters. In this case, I think that my speech was not strong enough to grab the audience’s attention, thus not being able to portray my message about what an Ofsted inspection is and what the results from an Ofsted inspection mean. Nevertheless, although I was not able to present to the quality that I had wished, the feedback received was reassuring that I had not done terribly bad. I was able to see myself grow as a presenter as I noticed that my
Overall the speech-structure, sense of wisdom, and experience, topped by his widely recognized success, empowers his speech to be strongly convincing. Meanwhile, the fallacies and faith requiring combinations of propositions Jobs’ gives, topped by a bit of contradictory context in the eyes of the audience, deducts from the intensity of his overall persuasion. Given the circumstances, the audience, and the situation, Steve Jobs was able to deliver a notably strong, somewhat inspirational and lifting final word to the Stanford graduates that day on June 12th 2005.
Steve Jobs played a huge role in revolutionizing technology. He is considered to be a major role model for people and has heavily influenced many lives. I was able to witness some of the techniques he uses to inspire and push people in his speech. I consider the graduates, who were present on that day, lucky to be able to hear a few words of wisdom, inspiration and character from him.
My public speaking class has already enhanced my knowledge and my ability to give speeches greatly. I know that with time and experience in public speaking, I will become a more skilled and professional public speaker. I will be sharing my first thoughts about my public speaking class, my strengths and weaknesses as a speaker, the speech I am most proud of so far, the speech that was the most difficult so far, and areas I know I need to improve on in order to be a skilled public speaker. Although I have had previous engagements with public speaking in high and middle school, none can be compared to the nervousness I felt about speaking in college level classes.
I have also learned about different types of audiences and speeches including persuasive, informative, entertaining and delivering special occasion speeches. It came to my attention that whenever I was making these presentations or speeches, I needed to do so with confidence, consistence and practice before the actual presentation and completely eliminate the element of panic. It was also clear that capturing the attention of the audience and engaging them in the whole process, it was necessary to have a very strong introduction and also try and use visuals to deliver the message. It was therefore vital to respect each person’s diversity and cultural values (Lucas, 2011).
The global leader I have selected has so many qualities that words are not enough to describe his success and his effect in the way we live and see life. His name is William Henry Gate III or as we all know him as Bill Gates. William Henry Gate III was born in Seattle on 1955 and was raised in a wealthy family. His father was a successful attorney and his mother was a top executive at a national bank. This upbringing gave him the opportunity to study in the most prestige school on his state where he discovered his love for computers.
So here I present you the path that gave us the Bill Gates we have today. Firstly, Bill Gates was fortunate enough to be born in a fine and educated family, where his parents were an educator and a lawyer. He had the privilege to all the essential necessities, such as clothing, food, and water sources which many other kids do not have. More than that, his family was wealthy enough to buy him toys and games and other things which would be far too extravagant to others. These small things created a stronger foundation for Bill Gates’
This speech did not make me nervous nor did it stress me out. I felt comfortable talking about color blindness because I had a good understanding of what it was, making it super easy to talk about. The informative speech stuck out in my mind because it was one of the speeches that I made really good eye contact, and I felt like I was saying very useful information unlike many of my other speeches. I am so glad we did an informative speech because it help me gain more confidence in my speaking abilities. I remember during the speech, I looked at the crowd and I actually saw them being attentive, and seeing my classmates like that made me feel like I was presenting my speech very well while being
Gates has always taken a utilitarian approach to leadership in business, spending substantial amounts of money and time in humanitarian efforts in order to benefit the broader community. In return, he receives satisfaction by knowing he is providing benefits that can potentially create the leaders of the future who will then shape the world for the generations to come. He has made such an astounding impact on the world. To imagine a world without the advancement of technology or the critical decisions that Bill Gates has made is quite perplexing. Such decisions serve to attest to the true character of

on how well you treated people a world away who have nothing in common with you but their humanity”(Gates, 6). A literary character that I feel I can relate to the reflections and suggestion of Bill Gates ' commencement speech is Rand al 'Thor from my favourite book series The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and finished by Brandon Sanderson.
