Christopher Lee Rios, better known by his stage name Big Pun, was born on 10th November 1971 in The Bronx, New York, USA. The American hip hop artist died on 7th February 2000 due to obesity-related heart failure. He is best known for his debut album entitled “Capital Punishment”, which was ranked #No. 1 on the hip hop charts. He was an active member of the music industry from 1990 to 2000. Talking about his personal life, Big Pun was married to Eliza Rios, whom he left behind with their three children, after his death. Big Pun had a very unpleasant childhood, as his father passed away, when he was a baby .His mother was a drug addicted, while his stepfather was very abusive. But, he couldn’t gain success, until 1995, when he appeared as a guest on the Fat Joe’s second album, “Jealous One’s Envy”, under the name Big Punisher. The very next year, he renamed his alias to Big Pun and started recording music for his first album. He soon produced the song “I’m Not A Player”, that became a hit, followed by another new song, entitled “Still Not A Player”, which again became a huge hit. This success launched Pun into the rap scene and became a contributer to his net worth. In 1998, Big Pun’s debut album got released, entitled “Capital Punishment”, and was an accomplishment by the rapper, as it reached platinum certification, bagging 5th place on the Billboards top 200 chart. This increased his net worth by a huge margin. Later, Pun joined the Terror Squad and in 1999 released their only album , entitled “The Album”, but it went flop. Suddenly, on 7th February 2000, Pun’s career came to an abrupt stop, as he got a heart attack. However, after his death also two more albums were released .
