It seemed as Beyonce and Jay-Z were the most perfect couple to ever be alive. Yet, like the majority of celebrity couples, infidelity is involved. On the contrary, Beyonce is not to blame, it is Jay-Z.

The speculation of infidelity began in 2014 when a video was released by TMZ showing Jay-Z getting attacked in a elevator by his sister-in-law Solange Knowles. However, It wasn’t until Beyonce’s 2016 record “Lemonade” surfaced, where these speculation had started to become popular. Throughout Beyonce’s record, it touches on aspects of cheating. For example, her song “Sorry” it references, “He better call Becky with the good hair.” It was until November 2017 where Jay-Z had admitted to cheating in an interview with the New York Times’s T Magazine.

In the interview, Jay-Z mentions how making records like “Lemonade” and “4:44” were like therapy sessions to Beyonce and him. By trying to gain these emotional tools, it has inspired him to write his song “Song Cry.” Jay-Z concludes how it is hard for men to express their emotion. This song is a way of letting people know he wants to be open and wants to have the emotional tools to help keep his family together. He then begins to state how Beyonce and him love each other and have put a lot to keep their marriage together. In particular, they have put a lot of hard work on therapy he mentions. Jay-Z also shines a light on how people are likely to give up in a relationship, instead of working it out.
