Good attitude isn’t something everyone inhabits. Through poor starts to big riches Beyoncé Knowles has learned to stay humble. Her caring attitude and helping hands have made her a great philanthropist other than her already well known singing career. Knowles’s great attributes to help communities have been very beneficial in handing them what they’ve lost.
For example, Beyoncé doesn’t suppress a superhero trait that allows her to read minds, but she does have a great character within her. “She participates in plenty humanitarian work such as being an Ambassador for the 2005 World Children’s Day, and released, “Stand Up For Love,” the anthem for the event” as looktothestars.org comments. Looktothestars.org stated “Knowles also loves to empower her females and what greater way than

Beyoncé Knowles flew all the way to Haiti for a hand in need. The Haitians were highly affected after their 2010 catastrophe and who better to help than Beyonce? Cnn.com reported, “She spread the word as she took pictures with aid workers, tours communities and passed out coloring books for the younger children”. It might seem that she’s only doing it for the likes, but as Knowles takes her pictures she spreads a message to her fellow high class investors that could lend more than just helping hand to those who have lost all their heart felt possessions. Clearly the woman can do it all! Wouldn’t you want your kids to lend their helping hands? One person can start a change to make a movement and with Knowles’s great publicity she’s on the right track.
Overall, from charity work to flying higher a woman’s job is never done. Beyonce is one of the few who sets a prime example of humble endings because she shares her riches to improve the well-being of someone in need. Surely, helpful hands and an open heart are the characteristics that make the hero, not the power or money they may
We all might not admit it but we have a favorite author that we must always read and follow. Something about them will make you still want to follow in whatever they write or say. Sister Souljah is one of those influential authors. Souljah is a strong, educated, opinionated black woman who sometimes is a threat to others. Some people consider her as racist because of her opinions and thoughts but she is entitled to a freedom speech, therefore she should not have to worry about people saying she is racist. This paper centers on Sister Souljah and her works. She is one of my favorite authors and one of the most amazing person one has ever came across. Sister Souljah books draw you in because she doesn’t hold back anything when she talks or speak.
Grace Vanderwaal has accomplished many things with her talents and her life as a pop star has just begun. First of all, when Grace was 12 she had tried out for America’s Got Talent! On December 13, 2013 Beyoncé - who was named by the Time magazine as the most influential person of the year 2014 - unexpectedly released a self-titled visual album that went viral on the Internet, that is, it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and sold 828,773 electronic copies in three days becoming the fastest-selling album in iTunes Store history. After the release of the album the artist posted coupe of videos where she was walking her fans through her songs and music videos in the album explaining what was intention and the idea behind each song. In one of those videos she speaks about how she was looking for some videos on feminism on YouTube, and when she saw a TEDx video from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie talking about feminism, Beyoncé decided to use it for her new single – Flawless - as in her opinion the music and the Adichie’s video suited very well with each other. By the end of the explanatory video she talks about ‘imperfection’ and embracing one’s imperfections, which she links to her another single Pretty Hurts. This song features the issues of sexual objectification of female bodies and the culture of perfection where women are valued only for their beauty. In another explanatory video she talks about owning her sexuality and body, especially after her pregnancy. As she explains it was her joy and her confidence that allowed her to show her body to the public. In the video she mentions that she is very well aware of the fact that she is showing her body, and that she is doing this partly for other women as well to empower them, and give them an example that you can own your body and your sexuality, even after body goes into a lot of transformations during pregnancy.
Beyonce is known for glamour, makeup, and for dancing around in nearly nothing. She is an extremely prominent pop star, but she’s also known for being a coveted victim of the male ogle. Feminist is not a word normally used to describe Beyonce. Her recent declaration of her feminism has left many wondering if Beyonce really is a feminist. From booty shorts to hair weaves, most argue that Beyonce doesn’t look the part; therefore, she is not a feminist. She may not look the part of a feminist, but Beyonce is a feminist.
Motivation provides the driving force for direction and persistence toward a defined goal. Beyoncé has a high need for achievement that motivates her to keep working on new material. In an interview with MTV Beyoncé said, “I am a workaholic and I don’t believe in no. I don’t believe in I need to sleep” (Lepore, 2011). She has earned many awards, honors, and accolades because of her determination to be one of the greatest performers. In the last five years, Beyoncé has used empowerment as an essential motivational key to continuously progress in her craft. In 2011, Beyoncé fired her manager of fifteen years and she began to take full responsibility for her creative and financial obligations. From this experience she has become self-determined and has a high influence on her career path (Lepore,
On the night of December 13, 2013 Beyoncé, released her fifth self-titled album on ITunes. The album caught many people by surprise because Beyoncé did not set a date for the album, nor did she use any promotion; she did release a video on her Instagram asking her followers if they “were ready”. The buzz spread through social media like a wild fire. With no promotion or no warning, Beyoncé album took the world by storm and made it for her audience and critics to take in the album and it contents. Many people loved the album for not only its catchy songs, but also the growth and “looser” conservative Beyoncé. On the other hand many people did not feel that her album was growth, but a way to catch up to the overly sexual generation. Beyoncé has always been aware of her sexual side, pop side, and feminist side; this has been documented through her four previous albums. Yet, a lot of people have questioned if Beyoncé a feminist because of the content of her newest album. In order to answer that a person must ask him or her self; what is a feminist, why some people believe she is feminist, why others do not believe she feminist, and whether or not Beyoncé think she is a feminist.
Superstar Beyonce Knowles was People magazine's 2012 World's Most Beautiful Woman. She is also a spokesperson for L'Oreal cosmetics. Beyonce is happily married to Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, one of the most successful entertainers in rap history. Although Jay-Z is a behemoth in the entertainment world, he accomplished this based on talent, not looks. He and Beyonce are a true American power couple.
Oprah has been known as “one of America’s top 50 most generous philanthropist” as she continues to contribute ten percent of her income ($385 million in 2008) to her favorite charities, related to education, youths, and literature. She had donated millions to Tennessee State University which is her alma mater as part of the scholarship funds, The United Negro Fund, to encourage young black Americans to pursue their dreams, and the Harold Washington Library, which is a program for economically disadvantaged Chicago-area young girls.
Women earn significantly less compared to men in the workforce, usually around 23% less. Although this is a publicized statistic and is blatantly unfair, little action is taken to ameliorate the disparity. It is time to step aside, the Beyslayers are coming through, we run the world, now countdown and let us upgrade you. Power is in the voice, and, the power of the voice can energize a nation. Fortunately, Beyoncé is that voice. Taylor Swift is a prime example of someone who uses her voice to deliver a message to society; however, her message is one that weakens the female character and undermines the capabilities and strength of women. This behavior is unacceptable and we the Beyslayers say, “Renounce Taylor, reinstate feminism.”
Oprah Winfrey, famous talk show host and philanthropist, can be considered a hero by any standards. Her life is an almost perfect representation of the mythological hero archetype. Commonalities include; overcoming extreme obstacles through her rise from a rough childhood, early recognition of talents in her career and an accomplishment of great deeds through her work as a philanthropist. Oprah is an inspiration to young women everywhere, proving that anything is possible. She will be remembered as a great social hero of our time.
Taylor Swift is one of the biggest pop-country sensations of the 21st century. With over billions of sells, she is also one of the top selling artists of our generation. But what makes her so unique? Are there not other pop-country artists out there? This is the story of Taylor Swift, and how she came to be.
During her childhood years living with her mother, Oprah had very little money and life was difficult. She wants to help as many children as possible grow up in a sound, safe, and educational environment. Oprah has changed the world with all of her organizations and charity efforts. Oprah Winfrey has helped thousands of children attend school with her scholarships that she has funded. Many of these children would never go to school or continue their college career without her amazing efforts of providing financial support to these children. Oprah also helped build homes for families through her efforts with Habitat for Humanity and her donations after Hurricane Katrina helped families start their lives over again after the mass destruction of the hurricane by providing the financial support to rebuild many communities and neighborhoods(“Oprah Winfrey”). When researching Oprah Winfrey, I now realize why she is such an incredible person. The world is a better place because of Oprah Winfrey. This is another example of a person that has worked very hard to achieve her goals in life. Oprah strived for her dreams of being able to give back to the community and world. Oprah came from nothing, built an empire and became one of the most influential people in the world. While building an empire, Oprah has influenced millions of people achieve a better way of live. Oprah has positively
When people hear the “first lady”, they automatically assume the wife of the president of the united states. However, they are numerous first ladies in and around our country, like the first lady of talk shows, Orpah Gail Winfrey. Born January 29, 1954 and raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi, 63-year-old African-American, Mrs. Winfrey is one of the most influential people around the world (Oprah Winfrey,2016). Her primary occupation and what started her long, successful career is being host of The Oprah Winfrey Show from 1986 until 2010. The same year she began her show, was the year she became the chairwomen and CEO of Harpo Productions. Ending her talk show, she also developed the Oprah Winfrey Network and was the CCO, chairwomen, and CEO of
... devote your life to causes. It’s not just lending you face. It’s giving yourself.” States Natalie Portman. (http://angelinasource.awardspace.com/) Growing from a rebellious actress into a beautiful world-changing humanitarian, a goodwill ambassador and a motivated mother, Angelina Jolie proves to the world that no matter what we are doing now, anybody can make a difference. Millions of refugees around the world are better off because of her dedication and hard work. Children who were starving, homeless, and sick now have a place for education and homes. Women from all over are inspired by her bravery for getting a double mastectomy. Although she likes her life to be private, Angelina Jolie chose action despite the risk. So the next time there is a problem that can be stopped whether it is big or small, remember how easy it is to do nothing and then do something.
Although Oprah has experienced excruciating periods of her life, she still has proved that anyone can make a difference no matter what his/her background may be. Oprah is living proof that anything is possible, and dreams do come true. Oprah has proved to people everywhere that true joy in life comes from giving to those who are in need. “I define Joy as a sustained sense of well-being and internal piece – a connection to what matters” (Oprah Winfrey).
