Chart toppers from the album like “Heartless” and “Love Lockdown” were the only songs to truly get radio success. On the night of the “2009 MTV Video Music Awards,” Taylor Swift won the award for “Best Female Video” for the song You Belong with me.” During her acceptance speech, Kanye walked on stage, asked for the microphone from her and continued to say "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." This was referring to Beyonce’s video for the hit song “Single Ladies.” Kanye would then get booed off of the stage and kicked out of the award show. He had apologized on his blog that night and the morning after, but the apologies were never accepted by the masses. The following night he was a guest on “The Jay Leno Show” to perform the song “Run This Town” alongside Jay-Z and Rihanna. Before they performed, Kanye was interviewed by Leno. He was asked what his mother would think of the incident if she were alive, he responded by explaining a dream he had about her and broke down into tears.
