Her father Mathew Knowles, was a sales manager along with a great father. She had one younger sister, Solange, who was also extremely beautiful. Beyoncé was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She started out young and performed in singing and dancing competitions. In the late 1990’s, she enrolled at Parker Elementary School, which was a music school that she had entered in the schools choir class. By this point in her life, Beyoncé had won over 30 competitions for doing what she loved. At age 8, both her childhood friend and her had tried out for an all girls’ entertainment group. They were placed into a group with three others girls, and performed in a talent show in Houston. The group was honored and liked so much that the producer brought the group to his studio and placed them in a Star Search, which was the largest talent show on television at the time. The group unfortunately did not win, and because they lost, Beyoncé’s dad resigned from his current job to take over the girls group and help them win the next time. After this decision Beyoncé’s family had a lower-income due to her dad leaving his primary job. Also, the family had to spilt up and live in two different houses during this rough time.
