Recommended: Definition of character
Character is a difficult topic to discuss considering character is always changing to involve something more. Though organizations like the Beta Club attempt to promote character, millions of people believe that society today has a striking absence of character. People who attempt to strengthen society’s character by pointing out its shortcomings push progress.
Character is the overall collection of morals that any given person possesses. In my opinion, this definition of character indicates that people can have exceptional character or poor character; quite often, though, character is used only in a positive connotation. The difference between exceptional character and poor character is constantly changing, depending on society's outlook
on it. I have never had any large moral role model, so I was forced to develop my own morals growing up. Accordingly, I feel like I have a strong moral compass that I stick to consistently. Even the serious thought of straying from my morals is difficult. The idea of one action being morally better than another can be consistently difficult to argue. Sometimes it is not clear what “the right thing” to do is. There exists a character crisis in America today. Nonetheless, the constant examination of a society’s morals advances moralistic progress. Without large scale movements to point out character crises, morals would have consequently never been edited. A character crisis should be present for as long as society exists. Currently, two large character crises that endure in America consist of equal treatment for people regardless of race and rights for the LGBTQIA+ community. After these issues have been resolved and morals have been adapted, there will be yet another character crisis. As individuals, we can help settle the character crisis by allowing our morals to be flexible and open for the approaching character crises. To make a difference in the school, we could spread the idea of having transparent morals. Our society, in its entirety, is deficient in character: a concept that will force progress and improve morals. We are always at the forefront of a change and we can always be an integral part of it.

Lambert 1Lambert, Brandi(put course and section number)(put instructor’s name)18 September 2017A Characterization of The MisfitIn Flannery O’Connor’s short story “A Good Man Is Hard to Find,” the character of The Misfit is not easily understood. At times he is gentle, at times harsh. Some of his statements and actions show him to be wise, and some show him to be clueless and out of touch with reality. He is at times moral, and at other times completely amoral. His character is a combination of opposites. The Misfit first appears a little more than halfway through the story. His actions and words show him to be both gentle and harsh. He is gentle with the grandmother, saying “Lady, don’t you get upset” (147) when her son curses
Did you know that people all around the world are forced to battle with an ongoing illness every day of their lives? It is important for every patient to be looked after and offered the best options so they could get back to living a happy and normal life. Any individual should receive undivided attention and support through their long exhausting battle, which will lead them to a clean bill of health. In the book The Fault In Our Stars, by John Green, he develops the idea that young cancer patients must endure many uphill battles during their path to recovery. Initially, Hazel and Augustus prove that relationships are hard to keep up with, but they know they are devoted to be together. However, a true friendship can last forever if it is based on pure honesty. Hazel and Augustus's distinct personalities lead them to forget about their flaws and put their love for each other first which makes them contribute to their own hardships.
The Fosters makes me feel as though I am a part of the family every episode. Personally I do not consider having two moms is normal, but I can relate to some of the situations the characters go through because my family is not perfect. The Foster's deal with many different issues: break ups, hook-ups, romances, and important life lessons.
By definition the word character means moral or ethical quality. My definition of character is that what defines you as a person, your personality and how you act but to have a good character you have to have honesty, courage and integrity and generally being a role model to others. There are so many people out there that have goals that would not only benefit them but would benefit everyone around them and some of those people are Gandhi, Martin Luther king Jr. and Malala Yousafzai. These are just the few people who help me shape my ideas of character but also as a person. They fight for what they think/thought was right without any violence but they use powerful words and hey speak the truth we all deserve to be equals. They all had the

What words come to mind when you think of someone that has character? There are many different ways to describe someone who has good character and some of the qualifications are integrity, loyalty, and faith. Would you consider yourself a person of good character?
One of the meanings of the word character according to Meriam Webster (1828) is the complex of mental and ethical traits marking and often individualizing a person, group, or nation. Consequently, a conflict already exists in this definition alone. The conflict is between an individual’s, group’s, and the nation’s mental and ethical traits. Therefore, the Army uses the Army Framework for Character Development model to try to accomplish this task (see Appendix for the details of the model).
Character what is it? According to some definitions, character is defined as "the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing.” (Character, n.d.) N. T. Wright defines character as “the transforming, shaping, and marking of a life and its habits⎯ will generate the sort of behavior that rules might have pointed toward but which a “rule-Keeping” mentality can never achieve.” (Wright, 2010.
As I walked through the Healey Family Student Center last Monday night, I saw a gaggle of students all crowded in front of a screen. On it, there was a young woman sobbing and threatening the lives of twelve other, seemingly unhinged women. Many of the students appeared unfazed or amused by the woman’s pain. What I saw as a grossly disconsolate scene was simply the typical reaction seen on The Bachelor, a smash-hit reality television series in which thirty women compete for the chance to marry one man. Why do we accept this kind of behavior as “normal” from a reality TV star?
I suppose one could say there are two sides to every coin. The coin being myself, I know that this statement is true. Although I am a person of many different characteristics, I basically boil down to the person I am and the person I hope to be. What is the goal, I ask myself. So many people strive to be so many things. For some the aim is money, beauty, security, power, influence; who has the nicest house, who has the fastest car- the list goes on and on. Not that any of these things are bad in and of themselves, but the moral and ethical standards of our society have been left behind in the pursuit of these pleasures. So, what is important? Is character even needed in the new century? Here is where I have to believe that most people are in the same pickle that I find myself: how do I live a happy, successful life in the company of others? Is what I do and how I treat those around me going to effect the world I live in? I believe the answer is yes.
Many groups of society do anything that benefits them. These groups of people show poor character, also they interact with poor character throughout their regular day. Companies that employ these groups of people show the poor choices as well. Character is something you can build off of. When a person of character applies themself to the company they work for, the company promotes and the person leads with character.
