What is the Best Degree To Become a Coach?
The best degree to become a coach is usually a bachelor’s in physical education, but this depends on the student’s career goals, target age group and state licensing requirements. Generally speaking, coaches have an interdisciplinary degree that trains them in everything from athletics to nutrition to psychology to human development.

A physical education degree is one of the best majors for coaches because it offers the broadest range of skills. This degree teaches coaches about the science behind sports, the psychology of athletic performances and the progression of motor skill development. Physical education degrees also contain coursework about athletic leadership, sport and philosophy, adapted physical education and the principles of coaching. No coach can openly ignore the health implications and performance risks of poor nutrition during intense athletic training. A nutrition and fitness major will empower coaches to help their athletes maintain their general physical health. Students take classes in nutrition life cycles, healthy lifestyles and common nutritional problems. They also take basic classes in biology, chemistry and biochemistry, so coaches understand the relationships between nutrition and general fitness.
As part of nutrition, these programs teach students about human growth, physical development and motor learning. These classes train coaches to understand what constitutes normal and abnormal growth and motor functioning of children and adolescents. Coaches will know how to develop and implement activities that improve strength, agility, balance, coordination and movement. Coaches also learn how to assess physical skills, fitness levels and developmental motor coordination
It's almost very necessary to have been on some sort of team at your high school to learn about the environment you'll be working in. Also volunteering will look good on an athletic directors resume, you could volunteer for the YMCA or umpiring a youth athletic team. You must have a bachelor’s degree in sports management, but a lot of athletic directors don't Start out being an athletic director usually they start as a teacher or a coach to gain some traction in the field. Getting a certification from The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association is key and it'll show that you are a registered athletic administrator, certified athletic administrator, and a certified master athletic administrator. The top three sports management degrees in the nation. The third best sports management degree in my opinion is the University of North Carolina. The program there prepares students for careers in very competitive settings within the sports world. The course offers training in sociology, sales, economics, and communication, licensing and marketing. The second best sports management degree is the University of Texas. This major prepares students for managerial, marketing or administrative careers in a variety of settings within the sports industry. The number one sports management degree program in my opinion is Temple University. The program at Temple University focuses heavily on internship requirements, in no small part because a degree in this field can be used in so many different sectors of the sports industry. Nobody in life ever said anything was easy, but with hard work it'll come easy. Athletic directors have a very big job to do in inspiring students to be the best and giving them all the tools they need to
A big question in today’s society is “Will a coaching philosophy improve performance or provoke a lifelong commitment to sport, or develop character, etc.?” I believe that all can be affected by a coach’s philosophy and the way that coach does things. The reason I say that is because there are so many different coaches out in the world that make the game easier, but also crappy for players.
The purpose of this research is to first define physical education. Then, I will explore the history of P.E. In the following section, I will compare and contrast the PE curriculum from past to present. Next, a description of the schooling requirements to become a physical education teacher will be given. In the book, Radical Women in Latin America, Karen Kampwirth discusses the role of women in the armed struggles of Nicaragua and compares the efforts of women from both the Sandinista and Contra movements. She uses interviews to recount the stories of women who participated in these guerilla movements and to learn more about the motivations of these women, how they were treated by men, and if their participation ultimately changed traditional gender roles constructed by the Nicaraguan society. Kampwirth advocates that the structural crisis aided women with an opportunity to participate in the guerilla movement, which ultimately altered the gender roles and norms of the Nicaraguan society, and successfully justifies her argument using interviews

Collegiate sports vary from gymnastics to soccer and the level of competition ranges from multiple divisions in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to community college. One similar aspect these intercollegiate athletes experience is nutrition. Nutrition will continue to dominate these individuals physiologically and impact their performance. Many athletes will go through a rigorous day of training, but the time not training will be used for diet and nutrition. This will allow for the athletes to refuel and recover so they can continue to improve performance and strive for excellence. There are several factors that can either improve or decline an individual’s performance. These factors include the amount of education on nutrition

Whether it is on a track, a pitch, court or rink, nutrition is of vital importance in the development of a healthy, competitive athlete. Athletes must depend on highly nutritious and vitamin rich to keep their body at their healthiest, their mind focused to maximize their performance.
In today’s society being a coach can be extremely complicated especially compared to earlier years. Coaching requires not only many technical and personal skills but also has to include positive psychology that will affect all athletes regardless of gender, age, and race. After reading various articles this leads me to the question, what is a coach? How do coaches differ from one another? In addition are we forgetting the importance of not only coaching but the sports psychology aspect of coaching overall? Regardless of what you may have read or heard I believe not only do all coaches have their own coaching style but every coaching technique and style is different. Coaching styles and positive psychology are two techniques that can provide

Becoming a coach has different ways. It can take some college, often teachers must teach in a field that matches their bachelor’s degree. Now there are coaches that teach as well or athletic coordinators. Athletic coordinators are coaches that deal with just sports and do not teach. Those have to go through a different process that regular coaches. For becoming a coach some have to know some health levels. With being a coach , athletes often get hurt and need to know how to properly take care of it. Sometimes when wanting to coach a specific sport you may have to have some background with that sport. Why would they just throw someone to teach kids something when the coach doesn 't know what he is talking about. It better to have a coach with experience to pass good skills to
Physical education time is being cut in schools to give more time for students to focus on core courses such as Science, Math and Reading. Some districts have eliminated the course or do not even provide it. These courses, although are very important, should not take away from a student’s well-being. Physical education provides a foundation to a student’s future lifestyle and good health habits. Physical education should be treated like every other foundational course because it is a necessary part of a student’s lifestyle that will benefit from every day. Physical education provides: 1) a variation of motor skills aimed to enhance the physical, mental, social and emotional development, 2) an understanding to improve and maintain their physical well-being and 3) opportunities to advance developing social and cooperative skills while gaining a multi-cultural perspective.
