The History of the Bermuda Triangle
Have you ever heard about the Devil's Mystery? Modern Scientists describe this evil mystery as the most anonymous event on earth. However, You may be wondering now what am I actually talking about, well it’s the Bermuda Triangle. The Bermuda Triangle has been an undiscovered mystery for about many centuries. In fact, it is the goal of many scientists to understand the anonymous theory or myth behind the Mystery of the Bermuda. Apparently, the search behind the true theory of the Bermuda the Triangle is still in process. The three main aspect of the evil mystery are: the discovery of the Bermuda, the reported accidents, and the various theories stated.
The Bermuda triangle is located off the Southeastern

In fact, More than 1000 ships and planes have vanished in the triangle area over the past five centuries. In addition, all these accidents happen when apparently there are no human errors, equipment failures or even natural disasters. Strangely, the ships and aircrafts just vanish when everything seems to be okay. For example, in 1918, The US Cyclops was a massive ship that supplied fuel to the American in WWI. One day, the ship set sail to Baltimore with 309 people on board. However, This ship never reached Baltimore; in reality, it was last reported on the route of the Bermuda triangle. Also, in 1941, two of the Cyclops sister ships disappeared along the same route. Another example is Flight 441 in 1954. Flight 441 was one of the US huge military aircrafts that was the most successful at its time. On the day it disappeared, it was just 400 miles away from the coasts of the Bermuda Triangle when the radar lost the plane. It was reported that 42 passengers died and that their life vests were floating on the surface of water, but there was no trace for the plane and the people. Furthermore, The most recent disappearance was reported in 2008 when the Trislander plane disappeared Only 35 minutes after takeoff the airplane ascended and went off the radar. The US Coast Guard launched a massive search operation but the airplane was never seen again. The plan went missing around the West Caicos …show more content…
The search to discover the huge mystery of the Bermuda Triangle is still active; however, many scientists have come up with different theories and expectations based on scientific experiments. For example, one-theory states, “tremendous hot and cold currents crossing the most active zones might create the electromagnetic gymnastics affecting instruments and vehicles." (Ivan Sanderson, 2011). Moreover, Sanderson stated that the Bermuda Triangle is not the place on earth that experiences this type of current, but these other places on earth are rarely visited. Another Theory about the Bermuda is called the Space-Time Wrap. The Space-Time Wrap clarifies that “from time to time a rift in space-time opens up in the Bermuda Triangle, and that planes and ships that are unlucky enough to be traveling the area at this time are lost in it. That is why, it is said, that often utterly no trace of the craft -- not even wreckage -- is ever found.” (Stephan Lucas, 2005). Additionally, Macgregor and Gernon (1970) reported “ We were flying their Bonanza A36 over the Bahamas. On our way, we encountered -- a tunnel-shaped vortex. All of the plane's electronic and magnetic navigational instruments broke down. As we neared the end of the tunnel, we expected to see clear blue sky. Instead, we saw only a dull grayish white for miles -- no ocean, sky or horizon. After flying for 34 minutes, a
In the scholarly journal, “The Bermuda Triangle Mysteries: An Explanation Based on the Diffraction of Heat Waves (2000)”, physicist Ernest C. Njau claims that the mysteries noted in the Bermuda region may be accounted by the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface as they cause changes in the weather and ocean patterns that could play a big role in the disappearances over the Bermuda Triangle. Njau provides the readers with another credible possibility that could be responsible for the disappearances and mysterious lost ships and planes in the Bermuda region in order to prove that paranormal phenomena may not be the cause behind these sudden disappearances. The research cited explains that the Eastward-moving heat waves along the Earth’s surface “to a large extent, account for the mysteries already noted in the Bermuda region” (Njau). In the academic journal, “Hydrates Represent Gas Source, Drilling Hazard”, senior researcher in geology and associate professor Elchin Bagirov and senior geophysicist Ian Lerche, purport that the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle can actually be explained by the phenomenon of hydrate crystals ruling out paranormal phenomenon. Bagirov and Lerche cite a variety of diagrams that they claim show the special properties of hydrate crystals and their effects to indicate their relationship with the mysterious disappearances of ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle. The authors provide a scientific and rational explanation for the numerous mysteries of missing ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle in order to persuade the readers that the mysteries surrounding the Bermuda Triangle can be explained by actual scientific
A skeptic once argued “trying to find a common cause for every Bermuda Triangle disappearance is no more logical than trying to find a common cause for every automobile accident in Arizona” (“Bermuda Triangle”). Although some theories may be more plausible than others, this implies that there is not one single explanation for these disappearances. While some researchers propose far-fetched theories, historical events as well as scientific observation and experimentation show many reasonable explanations to the abnormal phenomenon that occurs within the boundaries of the Bermuda Triangle. Background Information The Bermuda Triangle is best known for its strange phenomenon and unexplained disappearances.
In my opinion, the Bermuda Triangle can not be proven real. It also can’t be proven fake either. All the incidents that have happened in that area can’t be explained. If there is a reason that all these things are happening, then someone might find out. It might just be coincidence, or it might actually be a real problem in the middle of the ocean. One thing about the Bermuda Triangle that caught my attention was that a lot of incidents happen in December. It might be the weather that affects the ships and planes that pass through at the time. The weather could affect the way the ships and planes function and cause a failure of somesort. There has to be a reason that everything happens only in December. That is my opinion on the Bermuda Triangle. the main thing i think is that it might be real or it might be fake, but we won’t ever know until it is proven.
Along with scientists, conspiracy theorists have also been trying to crack the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle for years. Their ideas ranging from aliens, to the lost city of Atlantis, the different possible causes of this mystery are endless. Some writers have blamed UFOs for the disappearances, as they believe that aliens can use the Triangle as a portal to travel to and from our planet Earth (Christodoulou). This is suggesting that the area is like a gathering station where they capture people, ships and aircraft to conduct their research. Theorists believe the fabled lost city of Atlantis could reside under the Triangle, and that the mystical crystals which powered Atlantis are still resting on the seabed sending huge waves of energy that
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is the cause of many unexplained disappearances that happened within its boundary. One of the many mysteries of the triangle is Flight 19. Five Avenger planes vanished without even a single trace. What happened to Flight 19, did aliens actually abduct the planes? Or is there another explanation as to how they disappeared?
“‘The ‘Bermuda Triangle’, or ‘Devil’s Triangle’, is a mythical geographic area’, states a fact sheet issued by the U.S. Coast Guard” (Gaffron 17). One of the most influential groups in the United States believes that the Bermuda Triangle is only a myth. “Most rational explanations for the incidents in the Bermuda Triangle, including the explanations given by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard, include human error and environmental effects” (Obringer). The U.S. Navy has lost quite a few ships in the Bermuda Triangle region and believe that the reason behind those disappearances involved either human or technical difficulties. “Plane ditchings or explosions in flight may result from many causes; lack of visible evidence being explained by the truism that ‘It’s a big ocean’” (Berlitz 6) The reports from the people that actually lost lives believe in that something bad but normal happened which is a sound explanation for the
“In total, six airplanes and 27 men appear to have vanished” (How). On December 5th of 1945, five U.S. Navy bombers went missing without a trace of why. Later a rescue plane was sent to search for the plane and the survivors, but those planes disappeared as well. That incident is one of the most famous and well known disappearances in the area (How). The Bermuda triangle is an area in the Atlantic Ocean which many people believe mysterious disappearances have taken place. It reaches Puerto Rico, Florida, and Bermuda in a triangle shape that covers approximately 500,000 square miles (History). The mysterious disappearances in the Bermuda triangle are myths as evidenced by people who travel the area safely every day, there is no scientific proof of the mysteries, and there are scientific reasons why people have disappeared.
What is the Bermuda Triangle? The Bermuda Triangle is an area around Florida and Cuba that form the shape of a triangle. There have countless disappearances of ships, planes, and people in this area, causing people to either investigate or write tales about the area. The Bermuda Triangle has been through a controversy of fact or fiction. According to some, planes, ships, and even people have been disappearing since the late 1400’s. Based on scientific theories there is no paranormal activity that explains the vanishing of ships, planes, and people. The ‘National Transportation Safety Board and the U.S Coast Guard’ say that the percentage disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle is the same percentage for every comparable place in the world. There have been many written books and articles about the Bermuda Triangle explaining the reasons of the disappearances of ships and plans on paranormal activity. For example, there was a ship found in the Bermuda Triangle named “Mary Celeste that was found by another ship, the ship Mary Celeste was drifting with absolutely nobody on the boat. Several stories say when they found the ship there was meals still cooking on the stove. The captains stuff was still in the captain’s courtiers and his daughter’s toys were still on the captain’s bed as if they were still there. The ship’s cargo was untouched, so no pirates raided the ship. All of the ships papers were gone except the daily log. There was no explanation except paranormal phenomena.”
The mystery of The Bermuda Triangle has proven time and time again to be one of the world’s most bewildering phenomenons, and has kept scholars and conspiracists alike scratching their heads. It has defied all aspects of logic, science, likelihood, and probability. According to a late September, 2017 article by Holly Christodoulou, a writer for “The Sun”, “The Bermuda Triangle seems to have laid claim to at least 1000 lives via the mysterious disappearances of massive man-made vessels such as planes, boats, and cargo ships that remain unfound to this very day” (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2021520/bermuda-triangle-ships-planes-conspiracy-theories/).
This is an area where countless amounts of ships and or planes are said to have vanished due to odd conditions that nobody can confirm. In fact, over 1000 lives have been lost, 50 ships, and 100 airplanes have vanished here within just the last 100 years. There is large amounts of theories and reasons people have come up with to describe this phenomenon but the three most plausible ones are Methane gases being released into the water, lowering the buoyancy, electromagnetic fields messing with any electrical equipment and compases, or causing ‘time travel’, as well as natural causes such as weather. The area within the Triangle is one of the most often traveled shipping lanes and flight patterns in the world. I don’t personally believe there is any singular answer to what actual happens within the Bermuda region, but I do believe that it is a joint operation of many different factors depending on the situation at hand. As long as those theories exist, the Bermuda Triangle will remain a source of fascination and mystery until science proves
You might know that the Bermuda Triangle is a legendary place where numerous disappearances have occurred, but how much do you really know about it? Some people don’t believe in such a place, but some do. Research has been conducted to try and figure out what could possibly be happening here, but with no hard evidence. The mysterious Bermuda Triangle may be more than just a myth though; the Bermuda triangle has a long history with disappearances, few people live through it to tell the tale, and possible theories have been made over the years; leaving scientists questioning this strange phenomenon.

The paranormal activity and substantial amount of ships and planes missing reported suggests that the triangle would be a deadly place for ships to travel across. However, the area is passed through daily by multiple cruise ships along with planes as well. The “World Wide Fund For Nature” created a list of the 10 most deadly waters for shipping, but the bermuda triangle was not included. Research has hinted towards reports of several incidents being exaterated or imbellished. Despite the evidence, the majority of people still believe the triangle is not deadly, and in fact, is completely safe to ship through, or fly over. On the contrary, over the past 5 centuries, more than 1000 ships and planes have dissapeared unaccounted for in the triangle(http://www.history.navy.mil/faqs/faq8-1.htm). Therefore, the aura of mystery surrounding the triangle is alive and well.
The universe is a vast expanse of mysteries and unreachable knowledge that even the greatest human minds cannot begin to comprehend. Despite all the breakthroughs in the scientific community, we still do not understand many things. One phenomenon that causes such bafflement – especially in popular culture – is the Bermuda Triangle. Known for the mystifying disappearances of various aircrafts and vessels, the Bermuda Triangle is one of the greatest mysteries on Earth. However, what is the Bermuda Triangle, why is it such a popular topic, and is it as inexplicable as the rumors say?
During these two hours radios on land were trying to get a hold of the squadron but had no luck until they heard an unclear radio transmission at 6:20 p.m. from the leader of the squadron, who was telling his men to jump off the aircraft (Edwards 1 of 15).... ... middle of paper ... ... Without a doubt, there are many incidents which have taken place around the Bermuda Triangle that nobody in the world has answers to.
