Before every thing that happened Beowulf was persuaded to make another baby with Grendel’s Mother; however, Beowulf did not know that the decision he made would haunt him years later. Before Hrothgar decided to end his life and before anything else happened, Hrothgar cheated on his wife with Grendel’s Mother. When Grendel first came to the Herot, he attacked all of the Danes except Hrothgar. Hrothgar talked to Grendel to get him to go away and not fight him; therefore, Hrothgar’s wife knew that Grendel was Hrothgar’s son. The tension rose when Hrothgar’s wife confronted him about sleeping with Grendel’s Mother.
