Meherma Saeed Professor Sean Ferrier-Watson English 1301 - S35 16 May 2014 Sales of Human Organs: Helpful or Harmful Sale of human organs is the one of the most popular argumentative and ethical issue of today's world. With the every passing day the world is heading towards more modern and technological era leading people's life towards easier and faster way of access to each and everything. Impossible things and acts have been turned possible due to the advances in science and technology. One of the science's miracle is organ transplantation mainly kidney, the most commonly transplanted organ of a body which can bring hundreds of dying people back to their normal life. For transplantation, availability of organs is the main issue because there are many individuals for and against the sale of human organs which affect the supply of organs and as a result people die due to kidney failure and unavailability of organ at the right time. Many individuals are not in favor of legalizing the sale of vital human body organs as they fear about the black market where buyers obtain organs illegally and take advantage of financially weak people who sell their organs to fulfil their daily needs. What are the benefits of organ sales and does legalizing this sale could help save people's life? Before knowing each and everything such as benefits, affects, I had no opinion on it and the word organ sale itself is not that impressive which led me to think about the disadvantages of it but after reading an essay "organ sales can save lives" written by Joanna Mackay I had a bit different opinion. I agreed to the arguments which the author made that how legalization of organ sale can save thousands of dying people in need of organ transplantation. In... ... middle of paper ... ... other hand there are many points and reasons which are unethical and forces one to think that the sale of organs are not good as they would be misused and exploitation of the needy and ignorant people may take place. Crime rate will increase in killing persons for obtaining an organ. In addition the proponents also believes that it's their moral duty to save lives of countless people by providing them organs and hence reduce human sufferings from kidney failure disease. According to this point of view the sale of body organs becomes ethical and helpful as it would bring happiness to the effected ones.
