The role of a leader is often inaccurately defined as an individual who is in a position to give orders. However, there are enormous differences in the attributes of an outstanding leader, and one of mediocrity. An outstanding leader, above all else, is a role model for their peers. In doing so, a leader of the highest caliber is trustworthy in both their peer’s trust for the leader as well as the leader’s trust of their peers. A leader must also display exceptional skill in communication which transcends speaking and, more importantly, includes listening and consideration to the ideas presented to them. Furthermore, a leader must be supportive of and willing to help their peers build their own strengths. The attributes listed above represent only a small subset of what makes an outstanding leader. Yet,
I feel that the importance of service is to help a person in need because you could change someone's life, not because you feel that you need to. People who love what they are doing are the people who effect everything around them.Service has impacted my life because it makes me a better person. My family feels the impact, the community feels the impact, even servicing for a few hours a week affects the people around you. It makes the community a better place to live.

To be a member of this prestigious organization means so much to me just to be invited to be one of its members. Leadership is a great skill to have. “Leadership, dreams, scholarships, service, pride and character”, the first words that come to mind when I hear “National Honor Society”. Being chosen for National Honor Society is a great honor, as it has proved that from my childhood till now my hard work has paid off. From the beginning of high school, as a freshman to now a junior, I have always pushed myself to do better, but not better than others, better than myself. I had competition with myself and my past grades, as I emboldened myself to do better than each of my past marking period grades. I heartened myself to get stronger grades, because since the day I found out in freshman year that there was National Honor Society I was determined to get in. The day of my sister’s graduation
Being a potential candidate of the National Honor Society is a distinction that I greatly honor. I wish to be a member of the prestigious group for the various benefits to myself, my school, and my community. A member of my family was a former member of the National Honor Society; he has mentioned many positive benefits of being a member and how being a member is beneficial to the community. Due to my exemplary qualities of a National Honor Society member, I am qualified to be part of the chapter.
As a student at Northvale Public School, I grew up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in the homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Though it will take a lot of effort this school year, being a part of this society is a dream of mine that I will make sure to come true.
In addition, I would be very enthusiastic about gaining new experience in leadership, community activities, and co-curricular activities. When I was a part of the National Junior Honor Society I accepted as many opportunities as I could; I participated in activities such as: spray painting recycling trash cans, painting recycling boxes, sorting paper after school, and ringing the bell at Christmas time for the Salvation Army while singing Christmas carols. Furthermore, I should be a National Honor Society member because I make the right choices in everyday life. Many students all over the country make the choice to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, but I can honestly say that I do not use any of these substances. Not only are these a danger to personal health, but they are a danger to the health of the people around them, and every person making the choice to stay away from these substances keeps the society a little safer and a little healthier.
Scholarship, leadership, character, service and citizenship are the key building blocks to a successful National Honor Society member. I believe that I represent and exemplify these attributes and possess qualities that would contribute positively to the grandioseness of National Honor Society. Scholarship is an essential key to a successful student and I believe I harbor this characteristic, as I have a vehement commitment to learning. In my opinion, education is crucial to have a prosperous life, therefore, I spend an abundance of my time diligently acquiring knowledge. Moreover, I consistently work to the best of my ability, regardless of merit or acknowledgment.
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. “In order to be a good leader, there are two things to remember. Lead from the Front and always set the Example. From these two leadership principles, everything else will fall into place.”
One of the standards of the National Junior Honor Society is leadership. Members are not only expected to show great leadership skills to improve the community, but to be a role model, and to set a good example for his or her peers and others around them. To open and inspire others to learn more and dream more. I believe that National Junior Honor Society could add-on to my leadership,
The National Honor Society is a substantial organization that I believe allows students to help their community by volunteering to help those who are in need of any kind. As I see it, NHS allows students who strive and have signified excellence in their studies, have helped their community, and have shown outstanding leadership, to be recognized by their school and many others. If selected to this group, I would like to run for office to be able to remain involved in all aspects of the organization, introduce new members to the organization, help plan out the events we will do, and help out our school and community with these events. I would also help volunteer in the community service projects; since these types of projects do help us unite
I see the National Honor Society as a great opportunity for students that demonstrate high qualities in academics, service, leadership and character. It seems that this organization helps students to become a better person in their society, making them remarkable leaders. It also helps colleges and even jobs to notice a good leader and a well prepared person when looking at the students’ resumes. Colleges and jobs will know this is the right person to go for.
