Strategic Management and Strategic Competiveness Ford Motor Company began in Detroit, Michigan by a guy named Henry Ford. Ford has been producing vehicles in America since 1903. Ford has been through its ups and downs during all the recessions but has always been able to come out on top. Ford Motor Company sells mostly automobiles and commercial vehicles around the world. Ford also owns and operates Lincoln, which is a luxury vehicle line of Ford Motor Company. Ford also owns many stakes in other automobile companies, which has led to their success in other countries. Assess how globalization and technology changes have impacted the corporation you researched. Ford Motor Company offers vehicles and services to consumers at the best rate available. Today technology has become more sophisticated, allowing Ford Motor Company to make parts outside of America and produce them at a low rate. This has changed the way most manufacturing companies are able to stay in business. Some feel technology is taking over and pushing the human race out of the work force. This is very true on many aspects but humans cannot keep up with the flow of goods and the demands today. During the 2008 Financial Crisis all four big competitors were in need of a buy out from the government. Ford Motor Company was the only one to not take the buyout due to its beliefs they didn’t need help. In 2008 Ford sold its other business adventures Jaguar and Range Rover to another competitor to help restart their new business goals. Globalization is a process in which it allows mixing and collaboration from the consumer to the companies, the government, and internationally benefits. The union is key because Ford is a union workforce and that means the union will say whether or not it is safe working conditions. The last group is organizational stakeholder and this is also important because without the employees, manager, and non-managers the company will not be successful as it is now. Conclusion During this assignment I learned a lot about how Ford Motor Company began and is operating today. Ford has changed their mission throughout the years as many just as many other companies have. Although Ford has switched their vision they have followed it every time and have been successful every time. Ford has maintained its own throughout the Great Depression and the Financial Crisis of 2008. This showed to me that the company believed in themselves to not get help from the government unlike other companies.
