Being an American citizen is something that many people want to accomplish yet some may never get to. Americans is one of the few countries in the world who practice democracy and freedom of speech. American citizens are offered rights that would get citizens from other countries persecuted. I am proud to be an American but there are some issues in my country that I wish could be different. There are issues such as pay gap, racial discrimination, and poverty. I cannot save my country from all of the issues but I do plan on doing something to make a difference. I plan on using my education to open up my own business and providing people with jobs to help contribute with the unemployment gap and helping to end poverty. I plan on attending the
The only group of people that have ever felt a sense of belonging in the modernized United States are Caucasian people. Why? It’s not that they owned the land, or rightfully claimed it. No, it’s because their ancestors have used influence and power to take what they greedily lusted for. To make their stolen country succeed, they forcibly enlisted several slaves, and used the people they invited, to keep their iron fist credible. If the people could not rely on the government to feel protected, entitled, and successful, then they would combine forces to seek other forms of management. Similar to the formation of the Americas, and the Civil War, when the South’s protection (the possession of slaves to promote their economic success) was threatened.
To be an American means more than just living in the country for a set amount of years. It means more than being granted citizenship, and more than just waving a Boy Scout American flag in your yard on Memorial Day. To be an American is to be free, and that is what we as Americans sometimes take for granted and forget. Being an American isn 't just living in the "greatest country in the world", there are plenty of other countries that say the same exact things. There are far less countries in this world, though, that are free, and have the American mindset. Not many countries employ so many freedoms and have the 'American dream '. The American mindset is not just something that
In conclusion, everyone has the chance for themselves to make their own definition what it means to be an American. Having the American Dream, otherwise being successful, you can choose how you view being American. As I have previously explained in this essay, I believe being American means that you are a proud patriot of your country and show some type of position in your country, having a voice in your country and using your liberties promised to you by the government. What is your definition of being an
The founding fathers were the individuals of the thirteen colonies in North America who led the american revolution against the authority of the british crown, and established The United States of america. The founding fathers had a vision to give liberty to the US and made the US of of the greatest country ever made. And in my opinion the US is still growing in the same way because the founding father envisioned. Their vision was to have the US become the greatest country in the world.The people who first came to the America wanted a better like most people today that migrate to the US.They wanted to become wealthy and practice their religion.
Being an American has a big picture that can be described in many ways. Personally, being an American is to achieve everything; however, the person next to you may have a different opinion about it. In history, America has been attracting immigrants from different parts of the world to live the full freedom and opportunity. To be an American means much more than living in the United States is to be able to expand the beliefs one has. That is why people view the American Dream.

545 million people have called themselves Americans since this country began in 1776, and around 1.2 million people have died in war for this country. (Source 1)(Source 2) So what did these people live for? What did they die for? They did not live or die for 3,537,436 sq. miles of land. (source 3) They did not call themselves American after any person, object, or place. They called themselves American because they wanted to take on the American identity. An identity shaped by its past, modeled by the presence, and ready to shape the future. The American identity is one of dreamers. To be American is to have a dream, whatever that dream is, and to strive to make that dream a reality. A dream is what all Americans live, and die for.
The United States of America is supposed to be the greatest nation on earth. We are supposed to celebrate freedom and praise equality. We are all supposed to have the opportunity to live a nice, long, wonderful life.There are quite a few problems that make the above difficult, to say the least.
How hard is it to live the life of an American? Is the American Dream feasible? The American Dream is easily available for the people who are wanting to work hard, willing to stand up and be brave to express what they feel, and hopeful for the better as they live their life day by day, yet the American Dream isn’t easy to attain for some because they are afraid to fail, and they do not have any confidence. The American Dream is the idea of coming to the United States and believing that there is something better for you than what you had before coming to America. The American Dream is attainable for every American, but every American who wants the dream must follow these simple directions as being willing to work hard, willing to stand up
This is a document that determines if you are allowed to remain in a country on a permanent basis. It is called a “Permanent Resident Card,“ or an “Alien Registration Card, or a “Green Card.” Unless you are able to derive/acquire citizenship from your parents, or unless you are willing to cheat (methods listed below), you will have to apply for a green card. A green card allows you to become a permanent or semi-permanent US citizen. If you have a green card, you may apply to become a full US citizen via the process of naturalization.
If you are faced with the necessity of moving away from your home, leaving behind family, friends, colleges, your hometown, and many of your personal belongings, the chances are that you would feel a large array of emotions. You would feel the nervousness that climbs up your skin, sending tingles to your fingertips, an uneasy feeling gnawing at you from the inside, refusing to go away for anything, the bitter fear of something going wrong and all of your hard-earned efforts going out in vain, and the weary grief of losing nearly everything you've ever had. With all of these haunting emotions, it is no wonder why settling into a new country can be so hard. Not to mention how stressful it could be to try and fit into a new environment socially and financial. However, here are a few ways to get ahead of the difficulties of being an immigrant:
Immigration is the base of this whole country. you are not a Native American your ancestors. immigration was overall a great thing for the United States especially economically politically and it brought diversity.
Our country once united, now divided. We can all agree immigration is broken in the United States. Two parties on opposite sides of the political spectrum have quite different ideas on how to go about immigration reform. Option A, which tends to be supported by the left, is to give amnesty to all illegal immigrants in our country, rewarding breaking the law. Or option B, Republicans propose that we should enforce the existing laws on immigration to prevent illegal immigrants from coming into our country. This issue is a pressing matter because it will affect people on both sides of the argument. When going about selecting which immigration reform path to take, we must ask ourselves a crucial question;
When a baby is born, he/she comes into this world eager to learn. Always taking in information and absorbing it like a new computer. Every experience he/she encounters could possibly stick in that baby’s mind. However, some of the things that a child hears or perceives can either benefit or corrupt their learning. Teaching a child a second language has the same concept as putting in new software in a computer. Many advantages come with a safe and powerful computer and the same would come with knowing a second language. If a child was not taught a second language in their early years, that child might be at a disadvantage in their future, and as that child grows up not knowing a second language could potentially hold him/her back with grades and obtaining a job. Knowing a second language can benefit from those things and can also help with keeping strong ties with their family, culture, community, and even music.
America has done a great deal for me. This country has accepted my family and has given them freedom, education, and work. Because they were allowed these opportunities, we live a stable life with food, clothes, and shelter. In 2001, I was born in the land of the free, and received rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as stated in the Declaration of Independence. For all this, I owe a great deal to my nation, America. It is my duty to make America greater than it has ever been before. My responsibility to my country is to be a leader, especially as a female. I owe it to my country to be highly educated. Furthermore, I owe it to my country to be an active member in society. I believe that these are just a few of the responsibilities that I have to America.
