This happens through minimising everything in one’s life, including their households as well as other belongings. However, over time people will realise that those things they currently own are not requisite, therefore throwing them away is not an awful thing at all. When getting rid of all their expensive belongings, people will realize that those things are not a necessity, therefore can be discarded, and they will end up saving a lot of money. Having a simplistic lifestyle helps keep a person’s body fit. Minimalism helps reduce the amount of food a person eats, therefore, “With less junk taking up space in your mind, a great diet and mindset for accomplishment, your brain can perform at a higher level.” (Fechter, 2015). Maintaining a healthy diet is both helpful for the mind and body. When having a healthy lifestyle, one is cleaning their mind as they see things more clearly, which helps a person perform at greater levels. A budget is implemented daily, monthly, and annually for a typical millionaire. They live by the budget and are goal oriented. Living well below their means is crucial for a millionaire, and discovering ways to allocate time and money more efficiently. The typical millionaire next door is different than the majority of America presumes. Let’s first off mention what it is not. The typical millionaire is surprisingly not the individual with the lavish house worth a million dollars, owning multiple expensive cars, a boat, expensive clothes, and ultimately living lavishly. The individual is frugal and often looks for discounts for consumable goods. The book illustrates the typical millionaire in one simple word: frugal. It is shocking to believe that this is true, but it does make sense. To achieve financial independence is inherently more satisfying and important than accumulating wealth. McKibben provides that what we think makes us happy- is actually just the product of a capitalistic brainwashing charade to make everyone into happy consumers. People are told that when they buy they will be happy, that they will have value, because they have stuff. Consumerism taps into people's insecurities; the goal is to make people feel inadequate if they do not contribute to the system of buying. In conclusion, having a healthy lifestyle helps reduce the risk of health problems, whether you have a family history of diseases or not. Physical activity, and making smart choices with how much you consume and what you consume can expand your lifespan. Being aware of your body composition can help identify your risk classification, and it can help plan a way to avoid diseases. Just like too much body fat can be harmful to health, having too little fat can also be crucial to a person’s health. The goal should be to have a balanced calorie intake and physical activity (calorie in = calorie out) for a healthy lifestyle.
For this paper I decided to take a second and evaluate my life and think about what were some of my current lifestyle habits and behaviors and which out of these habits would I like to change. After sitting down and evaluating all of my main habits I categorized them into groups of which ones were helping to lead me to a long healthy lifestyle and which ones were likely to lead me to an unhealthy life and lifestyle. After narrowing these unhealthy habits down to my top three I decided to focus this paper and my attention on my current nutrition and most of all on my negative eating habits. After evaluating my lifestyle and all of my unhealthy habits I felt that my current nutrition level and eating patterns were in need of the most improvement and change.
