“I’ve never been on a baseball field, if I did, the kids in my neighborhood would spit loogies on my forehead.” (Clark Reedy, benchwarmers) Clark is one of the main antagonist in the movie “Benchwarmers” along with a few other nerds. This movie shows that no matter if any person is popular their dreams can still be full filled. I highly recommend this movie to all because it's enjoyable to watch and shows how the importance of real friendship. “Benchwarmers” shows the difference between Gus Mathews, Richie Goodman, Clark reedy, and Mel Carmichael.
First, Gus Mathews a 25 year old baseball star during the movie but a bully as a kid and good friends with Richie Goodman and Clark reedy. Gus has a wife named Liz who has a child on the way, also Gus works as a landscaper. Guy spends most of his free time playing baseball with his friends, and always has an eye open for kids being bullied. One day Gus spotted a kid

named Nelson getting “beef stew” ((To flatulate (fart) in someone's face, usually after kicking their ass (Urban dictionary)) from a bully some baseball team. Gus stopped the nonsense and challenged them to a pickup game made of Gus, Richie, and Clark. After beating the immature teen baseball team Nelson’s father, Mel heard of it and insisted of then coming over for lunch and work together to figure out a way of ending bullying. Gus is a prime example of leadership and courage for stepping in front of bullies. Later in the movie a team of 3 is formed (Gus, Richie, and Clark). Gus is the leader and also by far the most talented one. He leads his nerdy team to a championship and during the final game he allows all the nerds play the game for his team, including Nelson. Secondly, is Richie Goodman a middle aged video clerk who was bullied all as a child. Richie tries to impress girls but always fails due to his coconut hair or the fact that he has never matured into a full-fledged adult. Richie is one to always talk back to the opposing team which resulted in several titty twisters and wedgies. Richie is an odd character but also shows bravery to face up against bullies and show a soft side to a hot salad girl at pizza hut. Richie has a brother named Howie who has a bad case of Agoraphobia. “[After hitting the ball] I ticked it, it hit the bat!” (Richie Goodman benchwarmers) Richie was terrible at baseball and was mainly useful for popularity directed towards nerds showing that any nerd can be good at anything. Thirdly, is Clark Reedy a protagonist in the film and best friends with Richie and Gus.
Clark is a lousy paper boy that somehow always manages to throw the newspapers on the room instead of the front door. Clark is gross and weird he picks his nose and eats all different kind of bugs. Clark also is terrible at baseball just like Richie. Clark is known for releasing the baseball after swinging and letting it fly, resulting in 20 closed eye strikeouts, 5 broken windshields, and 6 dead birds. Although Clark is a follower just like Richie, Clark shows the power of friendship and how an only few people can put an end to bullying. After not being a able to hit the ball for several games due to the lack of his baseball skills, Gus decided to tape Clark's hands to the baseball bat which not only brought his first hit on base but several scares for the opposing team. Clark is a leader and encourager in the eyes of all the nerds online that watch Clark and his team through a broadcast that was made as the three man team gained popularity through their winning
streak. Lastly, is Mel Carmichael a filthy rich billionaire and father of Nelson Carmichael. Once Mel heard about the Benchwarmers winning streak Mel decided to sponsor them and introduce them to a round robin little league tournament. As the benchwarmers played the first few games Mel felt even more impressed than before and invites his former friend, Reggie Jackson to teach them some things. Mel shows courage in his attempt to stop bullying, he also has “fat stacks of money” (Richie, benchwarmers), and so money is no option. As an insane crazy billionaire Mel builds his own stadium just for the championship game, and the winner of the championship game keeps the stadium all for themselves. Mel also supplied the Benchwarmers team with New jerseys a sweet travel bus and a manager for the team. To Conclude, Benchwarmers is a hilarious encouraging movie that previews its points through comedy and real life situations. When the characters Gus, Clark, and Richie were put to the test they all came out on top through friendship and perseverance. Bullying is not right and nobody should ever be treated so poorly as like in the movie.

Humans are funny creatures. We judge and classify others and ourselves into groups. We tear apart others esteem to feel stronger. And we put limits on ourselves, whether they are thought up by our imagination or other’s. The truth is, we aren’t perfect, but we can become better, that is, if we choose to. Benchwarmers captures that thought perfectly. Though it is a comedy, and a very hilarious one at that, it provides some very true points to consider. Benchwarmers is a great movie to watch because within this side-splittingly funny movie, there are important messages such as: bullying is a double edged sword, stereotypes can be overcome, and that diversity is what makes life exciting.

A hero’s journey is an important aspect of any movie. Sports films give a good indication of how the hero’s journey is trying to be portrayed. In the movie “The Rookie” is a 2002 film starring Dennis Quaid as Jim Morris who is a small town teacher finds himself playing baseball for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays farm system after an open tryout. Directors go through the journey closely isolate each particular aspect giving clear indication from one transition to the next.

Everyone at some point in their lives lies even when they know that they should be telling the truth. Deception is a key element in William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet are both deceptive to their parents when they do not tell them about their marriage. They then continue to lie, Juliet telling her parents she would marry Paris when she secretly arranged to fake her death and Romeo deceiving Friar Laurence by going back to Verona. All of the deceiving in the play leads to conflicts, which eventually ends in death of both Romeo and Juliet. By showing how Romeo and Juliet being deceptive to their parents and role models led to pain and conflict, Shakespeare shows that you should always be honest if you want to maintain

The film that I have chosen to analyze is “The Purge”. “The Purge” is a 2013 American horror film directed by James DeMonaco. It was released on June 7, 2013, to mixed reviews. I will be analyzing “The Purge” by looking at conflict theory, class division, the importance of the ethnicity of each individual character, and the government’s overall political and economic agenda. In brief, I believe that Purge night takes place because of Conflict theory, due to political and economic agendas.
