Our success is important to our life. It can determine our happiness,so we need to try hard to accomplish our goals. Some people believe that successful people try new things and try risks rather than only doing what they already know how to do well, others disagree. In my view, I think that we should try new things and take the risk for a few reasons. First of all, It can give us the sense of excitement. When you force yourself to learn a new thing, you will challenge yourself to do that and this will refresh your mind and body. For example, I rememeber when I got transferred to another high school. I was so stressed because I had to learn computer skills, which I have never taken before. I was extremely difficult for me, so I decided to register in private classes with my teacher to improve and learn new skills. At the beginning, I was so confused, but since I decided …show more content…
When you are an ambitious person, we would have the opportuninty to get better life than the others. For example, I came to the United States two years ago with my husband and daughter because I was struggling in my life since I was not able to work in Jordan since it's not my native country, I was not authorized to work in there, so I was fully dependent on my parents to obtain my cost living, but I wanted to change that as soon as possible, so I decided to come here to have the opportunity to work and survive and guarantee my family future. at the beginning, I was so scared because I have not been traveling abroad before and I like to live with my family, so it was really tough decision and risky, but it was worth it because I nearly accomplish everything I wanted including to my work opportunity, I am living now in a safe area, which is really so important and my husband opens his own buisenessand ge is making good amount of money. My experience taught me that, The only thing that can improve your life is when you take risk and try new
Regardless of where one is born or how wealthy their family may be, having and maintaining a growth mind-set could then lead to success, and circumstances could help motivate one into trying harder and achieving more than they originally
Ralph Waldo Emerson, A well known author , wrote a quote stating " Unless you try to do something beyond what you have mastered , you will never grow ". This statement speaks true volume because you are not challenging yourself to improve the skill sets that you have and your are limiting yourself to what you can actually achieve. His quote should be used as an inspirational guideline to help encourage others to go beyond what they have already accomplished. Getting involved in certain activities or even trying something new can allow people to explore their potential in ways they would have never done prior. In order for someone to challenge themselves they should figure out new ways to improve their overall demeanor.
The power to grow emotionally and reach specific life goals lies in mindset of each person. Truslow was a marvelous historian who initially came up with the infamous term “The American Dream” (91). It is because of him that thousands of people seek and question what that dream truly means. To Adam the simple relationship between an employee and boss was sacred. In America looking at each person with equality is highly expected. This is why America leaves such high expectations for the rest of the world. The United States is known to be the land of the free where each person has the same opportunity as the next guy. The simple fact that people in America have room to choose what they want from life is extraordinary (Adams 91). According to Adams, “The American Dream opens all sorts of questions” ( 92). The true meaning of succeeding and being financially set will forever vary on the
Introduction- In order to succeed in life, you have to be open to trying new experiences, even if you know you might fail. If you do fail, you have to persevere and try again if you want to reach your goal. To become better than you are, you must be exposed to new ideas and moments of failure and doubt.
Nate Parker once said, “The American Dream is more about opportunity than anything else” (Brainyquote.com). When people are wishing to pursue the American Dream, they are looking for jobs, opportunities, and roles in the world where they can successfully complete what they desire for themselves. There are billions of people on this planet, and with them, billions of desires about what they want to accomplish. No matter what a person is wishing to pursue, there are many different opportunities that go along with their desire. A person’s attitude, however, towards these opportunities is crucial to his or her success. The ability to achieve the American Dream is determined by a person’s attitude because one’s work and determination, or lack
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.” was once said by Robert Kennedy. Taking risks does not mean someone will alway have a good outcome, some of the times they will fail over and over again and think they will never achieve, until they take one more try and get it right and accomplish something exceptional. So why do people take risks? Why are some so willing to risk everything in life to attain something so small? What makes these outcomes so extraordinary that people are remarkably eager to do anything to get there? This all boils down to the very stories and essays that are read today. But, how do the characters we read about take risks? What are their motives for doing such things? In this unit, people and characters
This paper explores the factors involved in success in the teaching field regardless of the environment. The information is based on the interview of current teacher Jane Satrom and her experience with a variety of adversities as a long time educator such as attending professional learning community (PLC) and department planning period (DPP) meetings. Her responses to various questions are compared to written advice for success in the college textbook Peak Performance: Success in College and Beyond in order to verify which skills and strategies are necessary in order to succeed. Major themes discussed are self-control, motivation, time management, and goal setting as used to succeed in the classroom. There are varying perspectives in the definition
Life in America is sweet and it is easy to succeed. America has ample resources to support the growth of its citizens especially young people. This enviable country, The United States, rewards hard work and high achievers are encouraged to chase their dreams. I thought that being here was a big opportunity, that I should take advantage of it. In my family, education comes first, without an education, your chances of succeeding are slim. My mom always told me, "Work hard now and enjoy later," meaning if I put in the work now I will reap the benefits later. Through my upbringing, I gained my own understanding of what the American dream is. To me, the American dream means that one can succeed and reach the highest level of achievement if one puts one’s mind to it. No one is in your way but yourself; you either do what you need to do to be successful or you stay dormant and not accomplish anything in life. Not only do you have to make the first step but you have to be able to stay to hang in there when the going gets tough. Winston Churchill said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts" (Churchill By Himself, 2011). Churchill (2011) also
The idea that this country offers so much opportunity that can be obtained by anyone provides people with the ability to dream their own dreams. The American Dream can be a motivational fire, but it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, one must focus on building a balanced life for themselves, participate in honest work and practice their craft to have marketable skills are just stick out from the competition. People work their whole lives making money so they can satisfy their desires. The idea of being able to purchase the items people always dreamed of is an achievement in itself. Having a great family owning a home and having beautiful things to fill it with is a common dream amongst people. Many people take pride in what they possess. People want to own nice homes, nice cars, and nice clothes. Some need to look successful in order to feel successful. These people feel successful when they can admire what their hard work has given them and when they can see they build something their kids can also benefit from.
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
to achieve happiness risks, do not need to be taken because not all risks are worth the reward, or could be happy with a simple life without risks. happiness can be different for everyone and someone could just be pleased with a daily routine such as eating or sleeping. Not everyone likes taking risks, therefore some people try to live a risk free life. Also not all risks give the target the intended reward. Not everyone receives happiness form taking risks in life, therefore sometimes not taking risks are better than taking them. IN conclusion risks are not needed to be taken to achieve
Ever since the times of the BC era, wealth had defined success (Definition of Success). A wealthy person of those times would be looked at as a superior being, they would be someone you’d show respect for. They were successful. Although that's the definition of success back then, does it mean something different now? Like every human being, and every past structure of society, the word evolves with time because society's’ values change. The definition of the word “success” was often considered as the achievement of wealth, but now it has become modernized to fit into today's society. Today, success is thought as an individual doing what makes them happy in life, generally doing their best, or even contributing positive things to the world to make it a better place (What does success mean).
Not every event has a guaranteed outcome- sometimes, one has to take a gamble in the game of life. There are some, however, who would prefer to travel within the safe, confined lane of actions with a definite outcome. Deciding whether or not to take risks in life can be tricky, but as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment.” This quote means that people should take risks in their endeavors, because life is precisely about trying new things and experiences. As the quote explains, taking risks in life is a vital step to success, fulfillment, and gaining more out of experiences.
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
