I awoke Friday morning to the sounds of banging pots and pans and I knew it was no one other than my brother up making breakfast. Daylight saving had just occured so the sun was starting to shine its rays earlier than normal. Guessing by how bright my room was lit up by the sun's natural light, I would say it was around 7:00 a.m. Laying in my bed contemplating on whether or not I want to get up to start my day or tell my boss I can't make it into work so I can relax a little longer, not going in seemed like the most logical solution since I had gotten off of work late last night. I lay here staring at the ceiling for a few minutes when suddenly I hear the door open. "Elizabeth, what are you doing still laying down? Did you forget what today was?" Completely clueless I answer, "What are you talking about Richard? I have no special plans today." His jaw drops as if I had …show more content…
just told him that his favorite meal of brocolli and asparagus tasted repulsive (It does but I wont tell him that.) Looking at his facial expression for a few seconds, suddenly it's like a light bulb goes off inside my head! Quickly I jump up as if a fire was just lit under me. "I'm going to meet the King and Queen today!" Richard looks at me and chuckles. "Now that is the Elizabeth I know. I'm going to leave and let you get dressed." Two days prior, Wednesday started off as a typical Wednesday.
After running a few errands, I was scheduled to go into work at 1:00 p.m. Normally the restaurant is packed around this time, as people grab lunch. I walked into the restaurant and it was alive with the buzzing and chattering of conversation. Although there were thirty plus people sitting down having lunch, one face in particular stood out in the crowd. I rushed over to my coworker and before she could look up i quickly blurted out, "Is that who I think it is?" She looked a little confused so I followed it with "Lady Macbeth! Is that Lady Macbeth?!" I realized I may have said that a little too loudly as the chattering suddenly stopped and the red haired maiden was staring in our direction. Liliana nodded her head yes and I couldn't contain my excitement. Before I could have another outburst, Liliana said, "Here she comes." Suddenly a lump caught in my throat and my palms were sweaty. I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder and as I turned around, I was face to face with a beautiful gingered hair woman, her green eyes sparkling with
amusement. "I dont mean to intrude on your conversation but I couldn't help but overhear. I have been looking for a reason to come over here for the past five minutes," a soft voice spoke out. "Is there any way that I can talk to your manager?" The first thing that ran through my mind is, "This is the first time we have had her as a customer. Is she going to complain that the food was bad? With her being royalty, she has eaten at finer establishments than this, im sure of it." Then my mind went back to her question. I am the manager. "Y-y-yes ma'am. You are speaking to her." "Oh goodie! I just wanted to say that everything in your establishment is the best I have come across in a long time and I was very pleased with every single aspect, down to your waiters." I was a bit taken aback by her response so I was choked up and couldn't seem to speak. "Anyways, i know this is short notice but King Macbeth and I will be having a banquet on Friday night. I have been searching for a perfect catering company to cater the banquet, and it seems as if I had found it. Would you and your company do me the honor of catering the banquet?" My company doesn't do catering but that somehow doesn't stop me from blurting out, "Yes, we will be honored!" "Very well then," she says as she pays her and her guests tab then exits the restaurant. My excitement quickly became reality when Liliana looked at me and said, "How are we going to pull catering a party off?" The night of the banquet was finally here and although these past 48 hours have been the most stressful, I truly believe that we will pull this banquet off. The banquet was held near Lady lake, close to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's castle under an all white cabana. Everybody was dressed in black and white. The menu that Lady Macbeth requested consisted of lobsters, steak, potatoes and brocolli and cheese and white wine. The night air carried the scents throughout the town and brought about a few uninvited guests, that were quickly removed by the king's noblemen. King Macbeth and Lady Macbeth arrived fairly early. Lady Macbeth was smiling and greeting the guests but the somber look on King Macbeth's face worried me. Did he not think everything looked wonderful? Before I could get to thinking too deep, King Macbeth was stopped by a guest. They talked for a minute at most and during that one minute, you would think that the guest told King Macbeth that he won the lottery (not that he needed it.) From that point on, King Macbeth had the biggest smile on his face as they continued on to their table. As they prepared to be seated, King Macbeth looked at his seat with the strangest facial expression I have seen in my twenty years of living. Lady Macbeth nudged Macbeth to take his seat but he refused. She looked quite embarrassed as it took her 5 minutes to get him to take a seat, and still the seat he took wasn't the one he was reserved to sit in. Once everybody was settled and the food was done being served, I heard compliments from everywhere. "This is quite delicious!" "This is marvelous! The best food i've had in a while." "I am going to recommend this company to everyone I come across!" I was so pleased with the compliments and I figured this was the big break myself and my company had worked so hard for. As i was basking in the compliments a voice suddenly blurted out, "how can this be?! I thought you were dead!" The room fell silent. Lady Macbeth's face flushed and I quickly realized the statement came from King Macbeth. He quickly grabbed her hand and lead her out of the dining hall. I heard yelling then Lady Macbeth came back in, quickly thanked me and left. As everyone got the memo that the banquet was over, they got up to leave. I walked into the kitchen and I seen a man, mid 40's, in a black suit standing by the stove. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I got goosebumps as I realized something about this man was rather ghostly. Before I could run out of the kitchen, he called out to me: by name. I slowly turned around and observed him. Sure enough he didn't work for the company so I hadn't the slightest clue as to how he knew my name. "I'm sorry ma'am. I can see you are a little frightened and I mean no harm." "Oh no, it's fine," I replied, knowing that for some reason I was scared out of my mind of this man and his next statement will confirm why I feel the way that I do. "My name is Banquo. Last week, the king ordered four men to kill me. They beat me to death and I just want to make it clear that I will be avenged!" After he finished his statement, he quickly disappeared. I fainted. I awoke the next morning in my bed and sure enough thought that what had occured the night prior was a dream. The fact that I was still in my uniform confirmed that it was not. I quickly hopped up and took my shower and set out on my trek for Lady Macbeth. This revelation was surely not something I can keep to myself. I had to find Lady Macbeth to let her know of the claims that were being made against her husband. I walked outside and down to the restaurant and checked with Liliana to see if Lady Macbeth had shown up there for lunch today. "No Eli, she hasn't come down here today but you may want to go check at the castle to see if she is there." It completely slipped my mind that I knew where she lived. I ran out the door and down a couple blocks to the castle and thankfully, she was the first person I seen as I approached the castle. "Lady Macbeth," I yelled to her and she turned around. "Yes? Elizabeth isn't it? How may I help you." Out of breath before I could even think about what I was saying, my mouth ran at 100 miles per hour and I notified her of what I had seen. "The night of the banquet after you and King Macbeth left, a man appeared to me in the kitchen. He told me that he had been killed by four men because Macbeth had told them to. He wanted to let Macbeth know that he will be avenged and I am positive that is the same man that appeared to Macbeth that had him flipping out." I finished and tried to catch my breath and the expression on Lady Macbeth's face was as if she had seen a ghost. "Wow. I don't know what to say to this." She was quiet for a few minutes after that and I took that as my que to go. I said my goodbyes and started to walk home. "Maybe I should have kept that to myself," I thought. Somehow I thought that this situation was just beginning instead of being over. Tuesday I arrived at work preparing to work until closing. The day dragged on slowly and not many customers came in so I decided to close at 7:00 p.m. instead of 9:00 p.m. As I finished closing up, a white van pulled up and a short, gruffy man got out and approached me. "Excuse me ma'am." As I finish locking up the restaurant, I tell him that we are closed for the night and start walking the other way. Suddenly three more men exit the van and start walking towards me. The short one repeats himself with another sentence following that sent chills up my spine. "Excuse me ma'am. Are you Elizabeth?" "Yes I am. Who wants t-..." Before I can finish my sentence, tape is put over my mouth and I am thrown into the back of the van. As the four men converse, I quickly realize who they are and what their mission is. "Lady Macbeth said she has to be silenced. How should we do this?" As they sit discussing how they should murder me, I think back to my thoughts earlier. Maybe I should have kept my mouth closed. The van stops after a few minutes and I am taken from the van and threw into a small room that smells of mold inside of the castle. One of the men, a tall slender caucasion man, was given instructions to make sure I dont get away while the other three men went to talk to Macbeth about how he wanted me killed. After about fifteen minutes of sitting and waiting, I could see the man who was put in charge to watch me getting sleepy. Five minutes later, he is asleep and I see this as my perfect opportunity. I struggle to get the rope that is binding my wrists loose and after fidgeting for a few minutes, I am finally successful. I open the door and peep down the hallway to make sure no one is coming. After I am positive the coast is clear I run for my life down the hallway and out the front door. I am tired but that doesn't stop me, my adrenaline has me running all the way home like the energizer bunny. I burst through the front door and Richard looks at me bewildered. "Elizabeth, it's almost 11 p.m. Where have you been?" "I have no time to answer questions Richie. Pack your stuff." I responded. He stares at me with a puzzled look as if wanting to question why but instead he says okay and heads to his room to start packing. Around 1 a.m. we are headed to the train station with all of belongings, not sure where we were going but I know that for our safety, we have to leave Knight Falls. As we are seated on the train, Richard starts questioning me. "Are you going to tell me where we are going or why we had to leave yet?" "Now is not the right time Richard." He seemed to get the hint that I wasn't going to say anything more on the subject and he laid back into his seat and dozed off. As I sit and stare out the window, I think about my thoughts that I had before I even spoke to Lady Macbeth. Maybe I should have kept that revelation to myself then it feels like deja vu because I have the same chilling thought. This is not the end of the terror that I will have to endure but it is only the beginning.
Art is always a highly debated topic. What is art? What is artistic? Which is better poem or song? Music and poetry are both great ways to express artistic passion, and each have something a little different to from the other. Two greatly artistic pieces is the song “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band, and the poem “Living Room” by david Yezzi. In this case, though it is a great piece, the song “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band is not as artistic as the poem “Living Room” by David Yezzi. The use of similes, rhyme scheme, diction, symbolism, and just overall theme, truly makes “Living Room” the more artistic piece. Each have their pro’s and con’s, and each have powerful poetic devices, some more than others. Though both pieces have artistic grounds,
Through out the Summer, I was back at home with a part time job at a very fancy restaurant and doing Summer school. When the fall came I was all set and registered at the University of Toronto where Mary had teached. No matter where I walked in the school something would remind me of her. I was in a nursing program and that first week I had seen the most beautiful girl alive, she almost looked exactly like Mary. She had long brown hair and big blue eyes, this girl was a one of a kind. I finally grew the nerve to go talk to her. " Hello, how are you?'' I asked. "Good afternoon, I'm good thanks.'' Just the way she talked made me think of her. "My name's Franklin Crabbe, yours?" She looked nervous then responded : " My name's Christina Pallas" Pallas? That was Mary's last name, I wonder if she knew her.
The most popular method for educators at the centre to build on children’s comments and conversations is by talking with them, particularly by talking through processes or experiences as they are happening. With infants this process of talking through experiences and processes seems more like narration. Spending time in the infant room feels solidary as I talk to myself for most of the day, however it is important to remind myself that the child is learning through my one-sided conversations. Baby’s language develops socially, they listen to those speaking around them and then begin to internalise the words that are high frequency (Clarke, 2004). As they develop their vocabulary grows as they build their repertoire through socialisation. Research
The three sources Behind the Bedroom Wall, by Laura Williams, “Survivors of the Holocaust,” and “Last Letters of the Holocaust: 1941,” all have characters and people who realize that through catastrophic events, that family is very valuable in order to surpass discrimination. The way in which individuals construct gender in today’s society can come from an array of different sources. Gender construction can come from societal, family, club, organizations or cultural influences. The construction of gender norms and stereotypes is coming more recently form the media, more particularly, the music industry. Every day millions of people listen to music on their phones, radios, televisions etc. and these forms of media are all part of a complex system constructing certain gender norms and stereotypes. Many people in society are influenced by the lyrics presented by artists without even consciously recognizing it. When hearing the lyric, “Take a couple days off take it off leave nothing but ya t-shirt ya panties on (Ludacris, Sex Room). One

Lots of observations were collected whilst the children were making their maps and working together to find the word treasure, so I have highlighted just a few to address the overall understandings of the findings.
This paper will explore my findings of my observation of a young boy, age 28 months, named Jax. Jax is fun little man and happens to be my nephew. I will discuss the attributes and characteristics of Jax that I witnessed in the few hours that I had observed him. Starting with motor development skills, I observed that Jax is a very favorable walker. He is well coordinated, and loves to run. Still, just like any two-year-old, he still stumbles frequently. He loves to play with his toys and can pick up and grasp his toys well. He is great at maneuvering his toys and putting them where he wants them. I did notice that he did favor his right hand regularly. Jax did love to throw things, and catch them as well. However, he seemed to be a bit better at catching things, more so than he was at throwing

An entire week before thursday rolled around so that i could go back to the ASL table with my Gardner-Webb people. I found Lian and was glad that she came to the table tonight. She was sitting with Rian and they allowed me to join them. I asked Rian what she had been up to because I had seen very little of her in the past two weeks and she told me that she was working on the set for the Little shop of Horrors production on the following week. While she was explaining her role in helping with the set, I noticed that she used classifiers to explain how the set was assembled and how she painted it. After she discussed her job painting the set, i asked her what her plans were for next year, and she said graduate school. I informed her that I was

Inside the nicely decorated room with taupe walls just the perfect hint of beige, lie colorful accessories with incredible stories waiting to be told. A spotless, uninteresting window hangs at the end of the room. Like a silent watchman observing all the mysterious characteristics of the area. The sheer white curtains cascade silently in the dim lethargic room. In the presence of this commotion, a sleepy, dormant, charming room sits waiting to be discovered. Just beyond the slightly pollen and dust laden screens, the sun struggles to peak around the edges of the darkness to cast a bright, enthusiastic beam of light into the world that lies beyond the spotless double panes of glass. Daylight casts a dazzling light on the various trees and flowers in the woods. The leaves of fall, showcasing colors of orange, red, and mustard radiate from the gold inviting sunshine on a cool fall day. A wonderful world comes to life outside the porthole. Colossal colors littered with, abundant number of birds preparing themselves for the long awaited venture south, and an old toad in search of the perfect log to fall asleep in for the winter.
The place where I feel the most comfortable, and show my personality, is my bedroom. This is the place where I can really be myself and do what I want; it’s the place I come home to, and wake up every day. My room makes me feel comfortable because it is my own space. My house is always crazy, with my dog barking, and my siblings running around making noise, my room is the only place in the house where I can come and relax without caring about everything else, the only place that I can go to clear my mind.
Critics have referred to the concept of Mariana taking Isabella's place in Angelo's bed "the bed trick." This plan of the Duke's, which is supposed to save Isabella, Claudio, and Mariana, appears to be almost corrupt and shameful, and is one of the reasons scholars consider Measure for Measure a problem play. What exactly is going on here with all of these characters? It seems almost uncharacteristic of the sweet, naïve, virginal Isabella to condone another performing such an act in her place. Isabella is, in a sense, asking Mariana to perform the very act which she has not only been avoiding, but that she is disgusted by. The fact that Isabella would accept the Duke's plan without question, which she does, has caused critics to question how saintly she actually is. The Duke has also been criticized for conducting and carrying out his plan. After all, he is the Duke, and he could have stopped Angelo and saved Mariana from having to sacrifice herself if he would have simply removed his disguise. It seems to be odd that a character the audience is expected to revere would not try to solve this problem by a more respectable, and much more simple, solution. Mariana has also been criticized for accepting her part in the action, because she is the character who commits the sin. Hence, the deception presented by these three "good" characters in the play is almost as corrupt as Angelo's deception. Why would Shakespeare do this? It appears that perhaps Shakespeare wanted to make all of his characters appear human. Angelo depicts a "holier-than-thou" persona and eventually falls because of it, Isabella is portrayed as a saintly virgin but here the audience sees she is also falli...
Interior design is a complicated profession. It is sometimes referred to as interior architecture and often confused with interior decorating. It involves the design, organization and planning of an interior structure rather than just refinishing and furnishing existing interior spaces. It involves managing a business, hopefully meeting the desires of the client and delivering to them an interior environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. There is a lot more to interior design than first meets the eye.
