Beginning many centuries ago, Vienna originated when the Romans established a Military camp. The Habsburgs later inherited the land during Napoleon’s reign. This reign was brief. It occurred in the 19th century as Napoleon's army passed by. Vienna than grew and grew. Its expanse, spreading throughout Napoleonic Europe.

As a result of new unwanted groups invading territory, wars began. This in turn escalated, creating a series of unofficial claims to territory and land. One of the first official battles of Vienna Austria was the Siege of Vienna. This battle was fought against the Ottoman Empire in 1529. Vienna was besieged and the battle broke the Ottoman expansion. The following war was the Battle of Vienna. This war was also fought against the Ottoman Empire . Leading the army, was the king of Poland, John III. These results are taken from estimations made in 2013. The size of Vienna is approximately 160.1 mi². Many foreigners make up a great amount of the population. As it now stands, Vienna is currently the seventh greatest populated city.

Additionally, unemployment rate consists of 8.6% of the city. The rate is constantly increasing each year. Unemployment is higher in the East rather than the West. Initially, the highest group of unemployed are people 50 and older. Although unemployment cause little to no effect on the overall city, it can genuinely increase overtime.

This brings us to an idea of Population increase or decrease. As the city matures and develops, unemployment can affect the population . Future references may ultimately, change the course of birthrate. 2014 calculations prove that the birthrate and death rate in Austria are both high in average.
