Bruce Wayne Transforms to Batman
When we often ponder on Bruce Wayne, we think of a superhero or someone who has superior powers. No one is generally born with powers and a desire to help everyone. It takes a special kind of person. Bruce Wayne had an irregular background. Events happened to him that no one else typically goes through at that age. Batman suffered and fought through the pain that children don’t typically go through. Batman witnessed his parent’s death. Losing one parent at that age would be difficult but losing two at the same time would be so heartbreaking. Could you imagine how many

things were running through his mind when he saw his father and mother’s life being taken? Without his parents, who was going to be there to help him? At the moment, Batman perhaps felt alone and hopeless in the immense world. If Bruce Wayne’s parents wouldn’t have died, his life would be different. Imagine how Bruce Wayne’s life would be prior to his parent’s death. He would be living happily with them and going on with his daily life. He wouldn’t be having the mental flashbacks of his parent’s dying. By Batman witnessing his parent’s death did that made it worse on him? By having dead parents did that push Batman to become a better person? Did Bruce Wayne feel that he needed to help the city of Gotham from collapsing into pieces without his parents? Did his parent’s death change his mind about being what we call “normal?” Did it make him want to give a helping hand to the world? Maybe Bruce Wayne felt like it was something he had to do in order to save the city of Gotham. Did his love life play an important role to his psychological and emotional issues? Bruce Wayne was never actually alone. His butler took him in after his parent’s death. But at that very moment when his parents were killed, Bruce Wayne probably felt as if he was no one and had nothing to keep living for. Bruce Wayne was a witness to his parent’s death causing him to be psychologically and emotionally scarred, leading him to become Batman. If Batman’s parents were alive, then Batman wouldn’t be living with the psychological and emotional issues of their death. His parents would still be alive and would be around to talk to him when he needed them most and his life would be the same. His life changed when his saw this tragedy. From that moment on, Batman was a different person. He didn’t think about becoming a superhero or someone that wanted to save the world until after his parent’s death. He wanted to get back at the criminals like the ones that killed his parents. He didn’t want to be evil or do mean things, he just wanted to try and help people out of harmful situations. Being a witness to his parent’s death has caused many problems to the way he thinks about life. When someone goes through heartbreak, something about your attitude and perspective on life changes. People can’t just make it through a normal day without thinking of their loved ones. Instead you find yourself having way too much alone time and you sit in your room and contemplate many things. Things that are almost suicidal. Batman had a different take on life after witnessing his parent’s death. He was ready to change the world! By Batman witnessing his parent’s death that made it worse on him. When you watch a tragedy what do you think of? Do you think of happy feelings or are you saddened by the scene you’re watching? Batman literally witnessed his parent’s dying. I think if Bruce Wayne wouldn’t have watched his parent’s die, it would have been an easier situation to go through. But by actually witnessing it, he has their terrifying screams, their last motions/words, and the bloody imagery right inside his head. Imagine right now, your parents being killed right in front of your eyes. What would be your first reaction? Normally you turn to your parents shoulder to cry on, but at this point you don’t have that anymore. Can you visualize the pain and suffering he had to watch his parents go through? No one likes to see pain and suffering from anyone, especially your parents. At that very second when his parents died, he became emotionally scarred for the rest of his life. Have you ever had a nightmare about something that happened in real life, but not to the extreme that it happened in real life? Do you frantically wake up sweating and wishing the nightmare was over? Batman has to live with the flashbacks every day of his life. Flashbacks upon flashbacks. In other words, he watches his parents die every day of his life. The flashbacks alone would put you in a state of mind that you never want to be in. Your mind goes back to that scene every day and you start to question yourself. You ask yourself things like, “Why did this happen to me” or “could I have done something to prevent this?” It’s almost like you start blaming yourself for something that you can’t control but you feel as if you could have done more. The images of his parent’s death that runs through Batman’s head every day would drive you psycho. You could never get those images out of your head even if you tried your hardest. When you saw your parent’s getting killed every day that would make your mind go crazy. By Batman having dead parents that pushed him to be a better person. When his parents died, the city of Gotham was suddenly going down hill. Gotham was lost without the Wayne’s. Batman wanted to be a better person and help the city get back to normal. He saw the attention the city was needing and he was there with a helping hand. Batman wanted to do good things in the world. He also wanted to stop criminals from doing harm. After realizing how his parent’s death affected him, he didn’t want anyone else to go through this same situation. Therefore, he decided to battle corruption in the city of Gotham. We will look at The Killing Joke for another example as to why Batman was a good person.
Batman wanted to settle things with the Joker. He wanted to become friends. He wanted to stop the ongoing fight that the Joker and him were having. We will now look at the Joker. The Joker didn’t want to become friends in The Killing Joke. Therefore, Batman fought to defend Barbara and Gordon. Batman doesn’t try to intentionally hurt someone. Batman is there to protect and defend you from all harm. When your parents die, you have to mentally become stronger. Bruce Wayne had to show the world that he was strong so he became Batman. It would get him involved with changing the world for the …show more content…
better. Did his love life play and important factor in his psychological and emotional issues? Batman wasn’t exactly the chick magnet. Batman had a hard time finding a girl that liked him, and when he did, something about it just didn’t work. You hear all the time where people kill themselves over not being loved by someone. Since Batman already had all this other stuff happening in his life, this just added to the psychologically and emotional stress. Not being loved by and girl and being rejected obviously made him sad and upset. Batman had love interests for Catwoman, Talia, Jezabel Jet, and others. None of them could settle down and really love him though. Batman felt rejected. Would he ever find someone to love him? I’m sure he asked that question plenty of times. His love life added to his psychological and emotional problems. It drove him crazy that no one would love him. Was Bruce Wayne truly alone when his parents died?
Sometimes we like to think he was just because when we hear of a child’s parents dying, we think the child is alone. That was not the case for Bruce Wayne. If Bruce Wayne didn’t have Alfred then he would probably be living with much more emotional and psychological problems. When you have someone they to guide and comfort you during hard times, it always makes this easier. Bruce was lucky enough to have his butler Alfred. His butler took him in and sort of adopted him. Even as Bruce became Batman, Alfred was always there. He helped Batman put that cape on every time he went out into the world. The butler was almost like Batman’s own personal security
agent. Batman went through multiple problems in his life, but you would never know that unless you truly look into his life. Bruce Wayne was a witness to his parent’s death cause him to become psychologically and emotionally scarred, leading him to become Batman. Witnessing his parent’s death made him who is was. Bruce Wayne never would have become Batman hadn’t his parent’s died. Yes, he has psychological and emotional problems that he deals with every day, but he didn’t let that stop him from becoming something that he wanted to be. Batman is a man that people look up to all over the world and without going through trials and troubles, he wouldn’t be the man he is. Even in our everyday life, we go through trials and tribulations. But that is what shapes us into becoming what we are. Until someone is at their breaking point, they will never know who they truly are. All this emotional and psycho problems shaped Bruce Wayne into the Batman. It shaped him into become one of the greatest men alive and that everyone loves. I’m sure Bruce Wayne’s parents would be so proud of the man he has become.
Soon after launch on January 28th, 1986, the space shuttle Challenger broke apart and shattered the nation. The tragedy was on the hearts and minds of the nation and President Ronald Reagan. President Reagan addressed the county, commemorating the men and woman whose lives were lost and offering hope to Americans and future exploration. Reagan begins his speech by getting on the same level as the audience by showing empathy and attempting to remind us that this was the job of the crew. He proceeds with using his credibility to promise future space travel. Ultimately, his attempt to appeal to the audience’s emotions made his argument much stronger. Reagan effectively addresses the public about the tragedy while comforting, acknowledging, honoring and motivating his audience all in an effort to move the mood from grief to hope for future exploration.
The chapter, Church, has the troop hold up in a church for a few days. In the church, the monks take an immediately likely to the troop help with food and weapon cleaning. A few of the soldiers discuss what they wanted to do before the war. The troops learn more about each other and insight into what faith can be to them.
When a person is shopping they typically are drawn to something eye catching that is either in or on the storefront. Some storefronts appeal to a very specific customer group whereas others are very general. One storefront that does a good job of pulling the attention of a fairly specific customer group is H&M. The front of this store is very modern, with clean lines that make it appear very sleek and elegant. Something else that this store does that helps them is that almost the entire storefront is made of huge floor to ceiling windows which not only go along to the sleek, modern design but it also allows the customers to see completely into the store. The front of this store helps them to attract the customer group that they are targeting because it gives off a very professional and sophisticated vibe that goes with the type of people that shop there. The floor to ceiling glass windows also help the store attract customers because it
Throughout The Epic of Gilgamesh and Batman Returns the main characters incentives came from the loss of close loved ones. For Gilgamesh his friendship started when the gods created an equal to him called Enkidu. Aruru, the goddess of creation, put Enkidu on earth to teach Gilgamesh on how to be humble. Together they were seen as soul mates. Side by side with Enkidu, Gilgamesh destroys Humbaba, the monster of the Cedar Forest, and the bull sent from the gods to kill him. After overcoming these two heroic battles Enkidu gets terribly ill and dies. The author of The Epic of Gilgamesh says, “[Gilgamesh] seven days and nights I sat besides the body, weeping for Enkidu beside the body, and then I saw a worm fall out of his nose. Must I die too? Must Gilgamesh be like that? It was then I felt the fear of it in my belly. I roam the wilderness because of the fear. Enkidu, the companion whom I loved, is dirt, nothing but clay is Enkidu.” Gilgamesh, now fearing morality, does everything in his power to try to find immortality. Unlike Gilgamesh, Batman had other things to seek besides immortality. As a young boy Bruce Wayne, the person behind Batman’s identity, was walking home with his parents and got mugged; both of his parents died right before his eyes. In this very moment, his life took a drastic turn. His life purpose was to kill the man who caused him that
But I do know one thing, Batman was there for us when we needed him the most. He separated us from our darkest nightmares every night. He guarded our houses and protected our families, our friends, and our children. Batman stood up for what he believed, he always had us, the people of Gotham in his best interest. What more could we have asked Batman to do? I could stand up here and say "I never knew the man," but that might not be the truth. During my life, I have known many men, many men who are full of strength, courage, and virtue. Any of these men could have been the Batman and I would have never been aware. However good men still walk among us today, even without Batman. These good men and women are my hope, my consolation for
In 1729, Jonathan Swift published a pamphlet called “A Modest Proposal”. It is a satirical piece that described a radical and humorous proposal to a very serious problem. The problem Swift was attacking was the poverty and state of destitution that Ireland was in at the time. Swift wanted to bring attention to the seriousness of the problem and does so by satirically proposing to eat the babies of poor families in order to rid Ireland of poverty. Clearly, this proposal is not to be taken seriously, but merely to prompt others to work to better the state of the nation. Swift hoped to reach not only the people of Ireland who he was calling to action, but the British, who were oppressing the poor. He writes with contempt for those who are oppressing the Irish and also dissatisfaction with the people in Ireland themselves to be oppressed.
In the novel The Stranger by Albert Camus, the narrator’s monotonous tone makes the reader experience a lack of emotion and feeling. The novel starts off describing Mersault’s current job and how he must go on leave in order to attend his mother’s funeral. He and his mother have been disconnected for some time as they had come to a mutual agreement with her staying in an elderly home. Mersault, the main protagonist, did not have the money or time to tend to his mother. The elderly home was the best option for the both of them. When he returns home from the funeral, Mersault gets caught up in external affairs he should not be in. He ends up writing a break up letter to Raymond’s girlfriend, which drives the rest of the story. Raymond beats his
In origin, a hero is an archetype character that refers to protectors, warriors, or god-like man who protects humanity. For instance, Hercules was a hero in Greek mythology. In modern culture, heroism is recognized as an extremely popular trait that a character can possess. In this case, Bat Man, also referred to as The Dark Knight, is indisputably idealized as a hero. Unlike most superheros in comicbooks culture, Bat Man is a simple human being with absolutely no superpowers. Regardless of that, he as a simple human being still exhibits the courage, intelligence, talent and the necessary skills in fighting crime and defeating potentially hazardous villains seeking to either rule the world or cause destruction. In detail, Bat Man’s real name is Bruce Wayne. Bruce was 10 years old when his parents were murdered which fundamentally change his perception about the world. After his parents’ death, Bruce inherited a multibillion dollar company that his father created before his birth, which explains why he has the most advanced technology to help him fight crime. While growing up, Bruce trained himself to fight and had been working out. One night, he came to the conclusion that Gotham city is falling into the hands of criminals. For that reason, he convinced himself that it should be his obligation to prevent it, although he needed a hero identity to hide his real identity
Batman was created after Detective Comics (D.C.) wanted a new super hero to follow-up after Superman. In May of 1933, Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman. Bob was born on October 24, 1915 and died November 3, 1998. Bill was born February 8, 1914 and died January 1974. Bill always loved comics as a child and still when he went to high school at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx New York. He and Bob went to the same high school but never socialized because they were in different classes. Bob meet Bill when Bill was working as a shoe salesman. They worked on many comics together for kids comic books and local newspapers. When they found out that Detective Comics (D.C.) wanted a new super hero they went to work. One day Bob came to Bill with a character, Batman. Bill liked the idea but said it looked too much like Superman. The original illustration had a Robin style mask and red outfit. So Bob took a Webster’s Dictionary and found a picture of a bat. He added bat ears to the mask, giving the full mask a more mysterious look. He changed the colors to black and yellow and added a cape that was cut like bat wings. When writing the comics Bill made Batman’s personality a...
A rhetoric analysis can be defined as the breakdown of components used to make a persuasive argument or judgment on a particular subject or topic. The ability to make a conclusion or decision on a given thought or idea in a moment of seconds is a result of rhetorical analysis. “Because media rhetoric surrounds us, it is important to understand how rhetoric works. If we refuse to stop and think about how and why it persuades us, we can become mindless consumers who buy into arguments about what makes us value ourselves and what makes us happy”. In Carroll’s essay “Backpacks Vs. Briefcases: Steps toward Rhetorical Analysis”, she discusses the nature of rhetorical analysis, how it affects our everyday lives and explains the role context plays.
Somebody who had established higher power in their community. Somebody who tried to run from fate, and has the moment of recognition and understanding of their destiny. Batman. Even though he is considered the strong and powerful superhero of Gotham City, Batman's characteristic features show that he relates strongly to that of a "tragic" hero. In the beginning, the Batman is presented at a higher state of appreciation, even though the police see him as a vigilante. Despite his wealth, Batman, otherwise known as Bruce Wayne, is easily relatable to audiences, which makes it easy to sympathize and empathize with the character. Batman is in a constant battle within himself, trying to be the good guy, while defeating the bad guys. His morals prove true when he admits that he won't kill any of the many villians that cause destruction for Gotham City. But, because of this moral, sometimes the villians end up escaping and doing more harm then good. In the end, this interal chaos and internal battle is seen interally and externally through Batman. At the end of the most recent Batman series, The Dark Knight, his exit at the end of the movie is, in essence, his figurative death. Bruce Wayne wants to keep Gotham City safe. And with the "Batman" gone, villians will be least likely to continue to destroy and conquer. As an audience, we cling to the edge of our seats and feel dismay for our beloved superhero and what is to become of
Director Steven Spielberg and auther Markus Zusak, in their intriguing production, movie Saving Private Ryan and book The Book Thief, both taking place during World War II. However , in Saving Private Ryan Spielberg focus on a lot of complications that occur during war , but guilt was one difficulty that stood out to me. Zusak, on the other hand , showas that having courage during war can be a advantage and also an disadvantage depending on the situation. Both director and author grabed the audience attention with emotional and logical appeal.
Batman Begins has an incredible amount of struggles that not only Bruce Wayne must face but all of Gotham must face. The first of many of these was Thomas and Martha Wayne's sudden death at the beginning. This left both the people of Gotham and Bruce Wayne to struggle along without them “Their deaths galvanized the city into saving itself and Gotham has limped on ever since.” (Batman Begins, Ras Al Ghul, Scene 31) This also created much anger and rage in Bruce Wayne that he released as Batman. There is also the struggle with the crime rate in Gotham and keeping alive the cities slowly falling government. These things differ from the Dark Knight where the struggles are with mainly the Joker and his actions. Many more unexpected and out of control struggles occur in The Dark Knight. The Joker (mastermind terrorist) creates many series of problems and difficulties for Batman, Gordon, Dent, and all of Gotham in general. Another big problem, quite different from the first one is the capturing of Joker. Unlike the first film, the struggles of The Dark Knight are much more external while the first one was fixing what was on Gotham’s internal problems. An example was after Rachel’s death it changed Harvey into an evil person therefore changing the whole ending of the movie, and a lot of the next one. Another big difference between the two films is The Dark Knight has a lot more violence and explosions,
Bruce Wayne was a poor kid from a poor city. His family was killed and he decides to fight crime, similar to Spider Man. Only Batman, some how got extremely rich to own his own cave, custom Bat Mobile, and have some sweet gadgets. I don’t know a lot about Batman, but I know enough that money doesn’t grow on trees. Besides, even if he did get the money reasonably, there would be other flaws. For example, there is no way he built his car him self. He had to have had a body shop customize it. And if this were the case, it wouldn’t be too hard for Joker or someone to find out...
For Batman, he is a famous person with high social class. His image is a successful businessman and on the other hand he is a hero to save the city. He is very strong and well body shape. When he catches the thief, he acts independently. He will not ask for help and refuse the others involve although he gets hurt. He is very clever and very calm. He will first plan before he takes action.
