Introduction:
Recently I have been about a career that I would like to pursue because soon i will be heading to high school. In Ms. Pennington’s english class I have been looking at possibilities on cfnc.org. One of my goals for this paper is to learn about myself through my survey. As a second goal I would like to look at careers that match my results. Finally I hope that my paper will help me realize and accept things about myself that I can work on or change.
Survey Results:
My Basic skills survey showed what skills I am strongest and weakest at. My strongest area is learning strategies. My weakest area was critical thinking. I like how the survey shows what careers that I am best suited for according to my skills. This survey also

This survey also focuses on my personality traits and favorite subject area’s. After I took the survey my results showed that I scored well in Law and Technology & Communications clusters.
Career Choice:
After taking into consideration all of my career options I have decided that I want to be an Obstetrician. I have chose this because I love helping people and making them happy. Some of the tasks that I will be responsible for doing is performing regular ultrasounds and post-natal/post-partum care and delivery.
To go more in depth about what I will be doing on a day to day basis is monitoring my patient’s results. I will also teach students, direct and coordinate the activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, therapists and other medical staff. I will also collect data and medical history and use that data while examining my patient.
I feel this career will be very important by the time I am ready to work. I feel this way because while women are pregnant the health of them and their baby needs to be insured. The average salary for an employed Obstetrician in the Greensboro area is $215,000 a year.
Plan for High

By that I mean I want them to teach me how to take care of myself and other people. I will continue allstar cheerleading and probably try out for lacrosse but I am not sure that I will participate in any school sports. I am planning on having a high G.P.A. so that I can get into a great college. I haven’t really focused on any scholarships except for a sports one, but I will look into other options.
Some extracurricular activities that I plan on doing is going to an Obstetrician’s office and getting a feel for what I will be doing daily.
Plan for College:
The college’s that have the Obstetrics/Gynecology program are Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. I am leaning more towards Chapel Hill. The degrees that I will need to be working towards are undergraduate then on to my bachelor’s degree. After I earn those I will have to complete at least four years of residency. While I’m earning all of these degrees it will take me about twelve years to complete all of my studies.
While attending college I will be living on campus. My plan on paying for college is my parents have an account set up for me but I also plan on looking at scholarships to help out. These scholarships will help depending on what’s available. For example when I’m a Junior in high school I will be very interested in money that I don’t have to pay back.
After all the research I would still like to be a neonatal nurse. I am really interested in this job so I think I will stick with it. I like taking care of babies, they are so much fun.
Higher paid than most jobs annually. The more the experience the more the pay you will receive. This is profession that is going to be increasing in open positions because of the baby booming population. But there are also disadvantages too. This career can become emotionally stressful/draining. You have to deal with many patients from day to day. Some patients are easier to handle than others. You may have to deal with a lot of blood because of open wounds. A lot of physical stress involved too. Most of the time is spent standing, also some nights may have to work overnight shifts or be on
Throughout this researched that I investigated I became interested in this field in a way. If I had an option in medical field I would take the option. Knowing that you are helping patients out is an amazing feeling. I would work with infants rather than adults. I would cherish every moment because you would never know if that’s the last time to work with the patient not just because of death but maybe cause they might recover from there sickness.
Ultimately, I hope to join the faculty of an academic medical center, where I can combine patient care with my love of teaching, and where I can continue to explore how interactive technologies can inform and empower patients. Most of all, however, I look forward to taking care of my patients, drawing on the remarkable depth and breadth of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The skills needed to be employed are to be sure you can work at a fast and high stressed level. To be able to perform patient vital signs, talk to parents and record patient history, perform EKGs and other tests, obtain accurate patient information needed for diagnosis and treatment, work with other medical staff and non-medical personnel, communicate with other medical service providers, and to educate patients about procedures or
I know that through my hard work and dedication I can make my goals a reality. However, it may not be possible without these Scholarships. While my parents will help me in any way they can, I am hoping that my hard work and dedication to my studies pays off. I am a very self-driven individual who will accomplish any goal I set my mind on achieving. I am also aware of how without scholarships I may face a financial setback. I am hoping that through the help of scholarships I will be able to achieve all my goals in a timely
The healthcare field is a perfect field for me to be in. I am passionate about others well-being.
My future career goal is to become an anesthesiologist. An anesthesiologist administers an anesthetic to patients before going into surgery. They also have to keep monitor of vital life signs and make sure everything in the body is functioning properly while under the anesthetic. I think being an anesthesiologist is something I’d enjoy being because I like being in control. I like making sure people are okay and that is specifically what anesthesiologists do; they make sure the patient can’t feel any pain and is comfortable during surgery.
Becoming an obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) requires about twelve through fifteen years of education and practical experience. The first eight years are typical medical education. Doctors start to train in OBGYN practice at the same time as residency programs that follow up after graduation from medical school. OBGYNs have to go after a four year undergraduate degree for instance a bachelor of science in human biology. Students must also think about taking courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy, because course like those give you a strong substructure of education for medical school and human health. Most programs which endeavor science degrees usually subsume laboratory courses, which allow learners to become knowledgeable with lab equipment and procedures. During the last two years of college, you will then begin to get ready for the medical col...
Application of career theories to my own life allows for analyzing past and future career decisions. Holland’s Theory of Careers states that one’s vocation is an expression of self, personality, and way of life. There is an indisputable and fundamental difference in the quality of life one experiences if they choose a career one truly enjoys, versus choosing a career one detests. A true testament to the validity of Holland’s theory, my job/career choices reflect my interests, as well as the evolution of my personality (internal self). My first job as a fine jewelry specialist and second job as a make-up artist echo my love of the fashion world. As I matured and became less fascinated by presumed “glamour” careers, I became captivated by physical fitness, nutrition, and medicine; I received my national fitness trainer certificate so that I may become a personal trainer. Nevertheless, my career decisions do not fit uniformly into merely one career theory.
It is one I know I will love and will be much more than just a job. It gives ordinary people the opportunity to be a proponent for every patient especially those who may fall through the cracks of the health care system. With that being said, I established important goals to remain on this path for success. By the end of my career I hope to be ultimately satisfied with my choices and following the realistic and clear career goals I have put out with myself, I hope to acquire the characteristics needed to become a successful perioperative nurse and become not only a healthcare provider, but an advocate for my patients and to have the education needed to give them the care and dedication each patient
Desiring a career in the medical field, I am currently studying to be a Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse or OB/GYN nurse. OB/GYN nurses specialize in the health care of women. The focus is mainly on helping women through pregnancies, labor, childbirth, and postpartum care; they provide care for women throughout every stage of their life("Obstetrics and Gynecology Nurse (OB GYN)"). The care provided by an OB/GYN nurse is critically important during the fickle months of a pregnancy. The nurse also provides support to the soon-to-be-moms as they may have a wide array of physical and emotional change throughout the duration
To become an ob-gyn it takes a lot. You need to have a completion of an undergraduate bachelor degree, followed by a doctorate of medicine degree. Pre- medical courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biology are required of all applicants. Experience and a full medical license tend to be required. Working under pressure may seem like a lot but after so much experience, it gets easier. Soon to be obstetricians tend to go to college for eight to ten years and work very long hours. Enjoying medicine and surgery helps you enjoy your job more.
Towards the end of the residency program, a prospective OB/GYN should schedule an advanced clinical elective in ob/gyn. The specialties include Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecological Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Family Planning, and Pediatric and Adolescent
What will I do for the rest of my life? Every person asks this question at some stage of their life, usually during their later teenage years. As a high school junior, I am now asking myself this question. After considerable thought, I have devised a tentative plan for my future. I realize that some of these plans and goals may change over time, but with a plan, the first steps of the journey can begin. To prepare me for the journey, I have taken very challenging high school curriculum, such as Honors and Advanced Placement courses. These classes will not only assist in my admission to college, but have also helped me to develop strong study skills and time management.
