Every sports community has countless discussions within one another. The one community I will be discussing about will be the basketball community. More specifically, the debate whether the Cleveland Cavilers and the Golden State Warriors are rivalries. This is one of the most talked about topics in a basketball community, it also both fans and non-fans to be involved in this discussion. Some sports critics say that this is one of the greatest rivalries that this game has ever seen, while others take the opposite stance saying that it does not need to be considered as a rivalry. My solution to this problem would be look at this topic from both sides of the argument, using research articles, interview clips and considering some discussions …show more content…
In fact, it has never been better, with the up and coming stars. After the past three World Series, the attendance has gone up, for good reasons. One argument for that would be the fact that the game is just more than something you watch, you follow that team through the whole season, watching it with friends, family making new communities for you to be a part of. Take for instance, the last World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians, more than 75 million viewers saw the entire game or just a part of it, the ratings were the highest in twenty-five years. As you can see this argument is saying that baseball is not a boring sport, in fact it is a great …show more content…
To begin, it was about one hundred and eight years since the Cubs won a World Series and sixty-eight years since the Indians won a World Series. No other game in the World Series has come close to the amount of history involved between these two clubs. During this game, many non-baseball fans became baseball fans, therefore game is the best World Series game. The baseball community has a history of not changing its mind but when it does, it usually sends a message to everyone. That message is that we need to reconsider, where the game is placed on the all-time list of great World Series games. This is the argument for case that the past World Series game seven was the best one yet to
Baseball has been of the longest living sports in our world today. The game started with the idea of a stick and ball and now has become one of the most complex sports known in our society. Several rules and regulations have been added to help enhance the game for everyone. Although baseball has endured several issues during its history and development of the game the game has still been a success throughout the world.
There are always different areas and beliefs in big cities, but in some cities they are taken to a whole new level. Everyone is proud of where they are from naturally, whether it’s in regards to their sports team, schools, or maybe a famous product that originated from there. There is a very well known divide in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, where there seems to be a highway or street creating an invisible line. Cincinnati is well known for its education, food, and the diverse lifestyles one may be able experience in the rather large suburban area. If someone asks a Cincinnatian where they’re from, they will proudly respond with either the Westside or Eastside! Common phrases one may hear are, “Westside best-side or Eastside money-side.” It’s not necessarily true that someone is considered good or bad due to their response; it’s just a pride factor to them.
...ercent grantees that the best teams will face off in the World Series. Baseball has been a game of adaptation, with the end of the dead ball era by putting cork in the ball, the games populatirty grew because the chance of home runs and harder hit balls made the game more entertaining and interactive. By adding steroid testing, the playing field has been leveled so that no one person has a distinct advantage over another. Both are examples of how the game has developed to benefit both the fans and to the players. The whole world is evolving into a time of equality and fairness and baseball is the last of the major sports in America to adapt this rule of reviewing plays that are controversial.
Your perspective may be in full agreement with any of the others, in partial agreement, or wholly different. Whatever the case, support your ideas with logical reasoning and detailed, persuasive examples. Every time the month of March rolls around, there is always some sense of hype in the air. That’s when the nation’s best college basketball teams compete against each other. It is as celebrated with each college being its own celebrity.
Defending Titles Diversely: A Persuasive Essay about the Lack of Diversity in Sports Many Americans have seen or at least heard of the movie “Remember the Titans.” The classic film focuses on a school that blends black and whites and takes on an African American head coach. The coach knows the importance of winning, but also knows the team must work together to get those wins and have respect for every single person in the locker room. Although coach Boone was still put in a tough situation with the school board and the community, he was able to lead his team, with the help of a white assistant coach, to an undefeated season. The team coming together is exactly what America does with sports.
Baseball is what is today because of the scandals that have plagued baseball, the alcohol
The best college football rivalries intrigue us to a point that we are on the edge of our seats for the entire game, but many people do not know exactly what makes these games so unique. Many rivalries are based off of supremacy in a certain state or in a region. Factors such as trash talking, championship contention, or recruiting implications can play into these games that appear on the schedule every year. There are games in which private schools battle it out against public schools to prove that they have earned the right to go against the public school on the gridiron year in and year out. Sometimes teams play to simply win an oversized, metal stick to keep all year. All of these can contribute to the fans paying their money or tuning in to watch these games in which history is renewed and there is a chance for more history to be made.
For this assignment I choose to attend a Los Angeles Clippers game even though I am a big Lakers fan; mainly because it better fit into my budget and the appeal of watching this young high flying team made it seem like it was going to be a good night. Going into the game it was being dubbed as the “battle of the double-doubles” as the Minnesota Timberwolves led by Kevin Love and his 28 straight double doubles took on Blake Griffin and his 26 straight double doubles.
Its America’s pastime. Since 1869, the MLB has been the sweetheart of American sports. A requisite to be a true American is to have a conceptual understanding of baseball; the seventh inning stretch, “Take Me Out To The Ball Game,” as well as hotdogs and warm summer nights at the ball park are all favorite memories of American pastime. However, what one might not realize is the extreme physics behind the game. The velocity of the pitch, and degree of the ball exiting the bat, the exit speed, and how an outfielder throws are entailed within the physics of baseball. It is important to understand the physics involved with baseball to grow in understanding and appreciation of the sport.
As soon as I started high school, my goal was to play college baseball. I played baseball for a very competitive select club that traveled out of town every week from Thursday through Sun as well as practicing every Tuesday and Wednesday. All through high school, I sacrificed my free time in the summer to prepare myself for college baseball. After receiving offers from four year universities as well as junior colleges, I decided that a junior college would provide me the best opportunity to continue to develop as a player. Even though I decided I wanted to play at a junior college, I wanted the experience of going away to college and living in a dorm so I decided to attend a junior college in Iowa where they had dorms for student athletes. Being ecstatic to be able to go off to college and play baseball was short lived. During the first month of baseball practice, I injured my arm, spent two months in physical therapy with no improvement, and then finally receiving the bad news that I would need surgery to improve. Surgery was performed over Thanksgiving break, but I was now faced with months of physical therapy, which meant
...nstructions however, a printer's error had changed sixty feet to sixty feet six inches. When this error was discovered, it was to late to do anything. Hundreds of fields around the country had already been altered, and it remains the official distance separating the pitcher from the batter. Also in 1898 the first base stealing statistics and rules that define a balk appear. By 1900 the first pentagon shaped home plate appears on a baseball diamond. The history of baseball is so interesting to see how people actually came up with this wonderful idea to play a game called baseball. If you compare the modern game now, to game in the 1800's, the game looks pretty much the same just some minor changes of how the game is played. Well to conclude my essay baseball still remains as "Americas favorite past time sport."

Baseball is like the circus it is entertaining, you never know what to expect and there is good food. There are many different opinions on what America's pastime is. Some people say it is football, some people say it is basketball but it is actually baseball. Baseball is the most unique sport in America. That is one reason why it is the pastime. However that isn't the only reason that baseball is America's pastime. Baseball is America's pastime because it is the oldest sport in America, the history of the sport is more interesting and the rules of the game make the game better than all the other sports.
