Barack Hussein Obama was the 44th presidential elect. He was elected president in 2008, then reelected in 2012, winning the popular vote against Mitt Romney. Many people across the United States do not like Barack Obama and they tend to not believe that he is a U.S citizen even though he was born in Hawaii. In 1970, Ann gave birth to a daughter named Maya. While living in Indonesia, Ann Soetoro became scared for the safety of Barack after a series of events happened, and sent him back to live with his grandparents in Hawaii. Soon after his mother and sister joined him. Barack Obama’s education started when he enrolled into Punahou Academy. During high school, Obama excelled in academics as well as basketball. Barack graduated in 1979 and was one of three black students in his school. As a young man, Obama struggled with the problem of racism, and with the absence of his father. After the divorce of his parents, Barack only ever saw his father once more. It is said that nothing could be done to get his father to come back to Hawaii after leaving.
In 1981, Barack Sr. was in a tragic car accident that resulted in the loss of both legs. Barack Sr., now in a wheelchair, was not capable of doing much. He then moves to Indonesia when his mother remarries, but then at 10 years old moves back to Hawaii where he spent his early childhood. It was with his grandparents that he developed much of his character and learned how strongly education was emphasized in his family.
