the best and he has made America an even better place than it was before. He made us realize how much better the United States has become. From war to peacetime this president has stepped up to the plate and showed the world that we don’t back down and we take care of our own. Barack Obama has always been a successful man from a lawyer to senator and then to president.
He was definitely a good president. Breaking the barrier and paving the way for future African Americans. From humble beginnings to our first African American President, Barack Obama has made a lasting impression on many people.
Obama has done amazing things in his term as president from Obama Care to trying to bring troops home after the attack on Bin Laden. President Obama has worked hard on making this world a better place and he for the most part has made the world a better place.
Barack married Michelle Robinson in 1992, they have two children Malia Ann (1999) and Sasha (2001). After graduating from the University of Chicago in 1991, Obama worked as a civil rights lawyer and also a part time law professor at University of Chicago Law school. “When he graduated, opulent law firms flung their doors open to him. He was offered jobs at Wall Street firms, as well as a clerkship on the U.S. Supreme court” (Sapet,74). In 1991-1996 worked his way up the political ladder. “In 1996 he ran as democratic seat and was elected Illinois State Senator” (Sapet,

78). His accomplishments were many including changing the death penalty and child health care. “He had a hand in reforming the death penalty system. He also advocated the expansion of early childhood education. Through his work with the states health care program, 20,000 additional children and 65,000 more families were insured” (Sapet, 85) One major achievement of Mr Obama was being the first African American President elected in the United States.
Another is his healthcare bill, which helped many low income families afford the healthcare they needed. Known as the Affordable Healthcare Act and later as Obamacare.
“My health care plan has three central tenets. First, all Americans should have access to the benefits of modern medicine. Second, we must eliminate the waste that plagues our medical system (duplicative tests and procedures that are performed because the right information is not readily available, and doctors providing unnecessary care for fear of being sued). Third, we need a public health infrastructure that works with our medical system to prevent disease and improve health,” says Mr. Obama ( N.E. Journal of Medicine, 2008).
One major conflict was the War on Terrorism. On Sept 11, 2001, four planes were hijacked and used as weapons on the American people, leading us into war. Mr. Obama fought hard to help bring the war to an end, working with Russia and other countries to bring about peace. “Finally in 2011 he ordered the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, the person blamed for the 9/11 attacks, bringing the war to an end” (Pettinger,
2017). One lasting effect from President Obama’s legacy is Obamacare, many low income families were able to provide coverage for their families thanks to this act. “To make insurance affordable, we will give families income-related tax credits to expand access and streamline plan enrollment and transactions to reduce the administrative burden. I will also expand Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program immediately to cover all children who don't have private coverage. And I have specified how I will pay for it — by cutting out waste in the system and redirecting the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans to help middle-class families afford health insurance” (N.E. Journal of Medicine, 2008). One of his major policies that was revised by the new administration was his health care act. Obamacare didn't really go over very well with a lot of Americans or the politicians. The incoming president worked to revise the plan. “The Trump-backed effort to repeal the ACA did not succeed. So insurers can’t charge higher prices to people with illnesses, and young adults can stay on their parents’ plans until age 26. Failing to overturn the ACA left Medicaid intact for the nearly 12 million people in 32 states who qualify under the law’s expansion of the program. Some health experts believe that the repeal of the individual mandate, along with Trump administration regulatory changes allowing the sale of some health insurance plans that don’t comply with the rules of Obamacare, could inject considerable instability into the individual marketplaces that were created by the law and drive premiums up. That hurts people who don’t qualify for subsidies to buy private insurance under the law and could push even more insurers out over time (many insurers had already left, even before 2017)” (fivethirtyeight.com). Former president Barack Obama is keeping busy. He is vacationing in different continents and has been to at least nine different countries, this is called The Obama tour of the world. He still isn't out of politics and public service, he does have plans for the Obama presidential center in Chicago. The Obama presidential center will consist of three buildings in Jackson Park, a museum, a forum building with restaurants, an auditorium, a public garden and also a library. He is still not able to detach himself from the political fray, he’s been involved with National Democratic committee trying to win back state legislatures. (Newsweek.com) All in all Barack Obama was a really good president and really helped to change America for the better. We will all miss him, he left a great legacy behind. We were very lucky to have a great president like Obama and he has served two amazing terms and still is into politics and even though he’s not president anymore he still does a lot of good things in America because he truly is a good person. Now he is back with his wife and kids and probably is going to spend every moment with them. Goodbye Obama we will miss you. Both President Bush and President Obama had very different ways of running the country during their presidencies. Overall, President Bush used less persuasion on major domestic and foreign policies than President Obama. With these differences among the presidents, they both passed and approved laws that would try to better the nation and it’s citizens.
Over time there has been alot of president's that has been in and out of the white house. Some of the president's have done a great job in office some president's didn't do so good in the white house. People in general have all sorts of different opinions on president's some people may say one president was the best while another person may disagree. In my opinion out of all the president's there is a man named Abraham Lincoln who i think was one of the greatest president's of all time. One of are president's in the present who i think does not do a very good job in office is president Barack Obama. There are a lot of reason's why i put these two in the catogories i did and in my essay i am going to explain this reasoning behind my opinion.
It was hard for Obama to know that his father was the person whom he had the most resemblance in terms of physical appearance and he was never around. There were so many questions and confusions in Obama’s head. His mother was a white woman and he was black. Obama was in the need of finding a community where he would feel welcome. Despite Obama’s traumas produced by the deficiency of his father’s presence Obama proved to be very smart. He was a student at Columbia University. He was one of the few black students that went t...
The facts bear out the conclusion that the way healthcare in this country is distributed is flawed. It causes us to lose money, productivity, and unjustly leaves too many people struggling for what Thomas Jefferson realized was fundamental. Among industrialized countries, America holds the unique position of not having any form of universal health care. This should lead Americans to ask why the health of its citizens is “less equal” than the health of a European.
The United States (U.S.) has a health care system that is much different than any other health care system in the world (Nies & McEwen, 2015). It is frequently recognized as one with most recent technological inventions, but at the same time is often criticized for being overly expensive (Nies & McEwen, 2015). In 2010, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) (U. S. Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.) This plan was implemented in an attempt to make preventative care more affordable and accessible for all uninsured Americans (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.). Under the law, the new Patient’s Bill of Rights gives consumers the power to be in charge of their health care choices. (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, n.d.).
Barack received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and then worked as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago. This helped him gain a lot of confidence and responsibility. He had many plans and goals to make the community better. He achieved his goals and this was just the beginning of a successful path in his life. He decided to attend Harvard Law School, which helped him bring change for himself, his family, and especially to his community. Also in that school he also gained the knowledge and power of becoming a leader that he wanted to become.
...or government and for the people. He established two new cabinet-level positions, Departments of Transportation and of Housing and Urban Development. With this, he passed the Model Cities Act, which gave 1.2 billion dollars to improving housing, health and education across the country in areas, which needed it the most. This was another step to minorities having a better chance at improving their lifestyle if they were not blessed with a great deal of money.
With congress passing ObamaCare last year we are taking baby steps towards a health system overhaul we so desperately need. The skeptics, though, still argue against it, citing the costs as too much or that it’s un-american. Health care is a basic need for everyone, and as such should be right protected and provided for by the government. There are great, economic, moral, and social benefits to be reaped, and so it is important for our government to continue down this path its started and also important for Americans to provide our full support. There is much to overcome to completely reverse the direction of the health system, and I’m sure it will take many years for the results to pay off, but I’m glad we’ve at least provided the groundwork for future generations to build
In order to make ones’ health care coverage more affordable, the nation needs to address the continually increasing medical care costs. Approximately more than one-sixth of the United States economy is devoted to health care spending, such as: soaring prices for medical services, costly prescription drugs, newly advanced medical technology, and even unhealthy lifestyles. Our system is spending approximately $2.7 trillion annually on health care. According to experts, it is estimated that approximately 20%-30% of that spending (approx. $800 billion a year) appears to go towards wasteful, redundant, or even inefficient care.
Despite the established health care facilities in the United States, most citizens do not have access to proper medical care. We must appreciate from the very onset that a healthy and strong nation must have a proper health care system. Such a health system should be available and affordable to all. The cost of health services is high. In fact, the ...
The U.S. expends far more on healthcare than any other country in the world, yet we get fewer benefits, less than ideal health outcomes, and a lot of dissatisfaction manifested by unequal access, the significant numbers of uninsured and underinsured Americans, uneven quality, and unconstrained wastes. The financing of healthcare is also complicated, as there is no single payer system and payment schemes vary across payors and providers.
Reforming the health care delivery system to progress the quality and value of care is indispensable to addressing the ever-increasing costs, poor quality, and increasing numbers of Americans without health insurance coverage. What is more, reforms should improve access to the right care at the right time in the right setting. They should keep people healthy and prevent common, preventable impediments of illnesses to the greatest extent possible. Thoughtfully assembled reforms would support greater access to health-improving care, in contrast to the current system, which encourages more tests, procedures, and treatments that are either
In fact, he received 12th place on C-Spans list of best presidents and had a sixty percent approval rating at the end of his presidency (CNN, 2017). He showed much grace as the Republican party tried to destroy his presidency. Instead of retaliating, Obama continued to campaign for the country, eventually gaining some support of Republicans. By establishing policies to protect rights of consumers, small business, minorities, disabled individuals, increase the minimum wage of federal contractors, protect the rights of the lesbian, gay bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) community, Obama proved that he was the president for all Americans not just the select privileged
Although Obama has made some controversial choices in his terms most of the policies that he proposed in his term as a United State president were very well thought out and helped out the U.S for the greater. There were many policies both domestic and foreign that has led Obama to this legacy. One of this policy was the Immigration policy which created a smart, fair and effective system that helped keep our borders safe. Second there was the foreign policy which changed the way the U.S dealt with other countries Thirdly there was the education policy which made it easier for students to afford school. Obama’s policy will have a huge impact on the U.S domestic and foreign policy.
In 1996, five years after graduating from Harvard Law School, Obama entered the public domain as a political figure.
