Baha I Want To Pursue My Education

I have experienced different perspectives of education. Some educate themselves to serve humanity and have good lives, while others look for money, fame and positions. I consider myself belonging to the first group. I desire to pursue my education to achieve success and fulfillment in my education and also to serve humanity. Education is like a ladder through which I can step up to a better and happier life. I have a strong passion to become a highly-educated person and accomplish all I had desired and was deprived of in my home country, Iran.
As a Baha’i, I belong to a religion whose believers have been persecuted in different ways. Since the Islamic revolution in 1979, hundreds have been killed and many more have been fired from their jobs, because of being Baha’i. I was a witness and also a recipient of those injustices. After graduation from high school in 2002, my great desire to become a professional healthcare worker was refused by the Islamic government’s law. To make the best benefit of that great opportunity, I decided to work very hard to learn English and also become a successful student at all my classes. I took ESL classes for a year at South Seattle Community College. After finishing the ESL courses successfully and improving my English skills, I decided to take the college’s Nursing Assistant program, so I could find out for sure if caring for people was really what I wanted to do. I received my Nursing Assistant Certificate with a GPA of 3.9, and started working—I soon discovered that I really enjoyed caring for patients, and found it rewarding to be able to meet their needs. This motivated me to continue learning about healthcare
