A family’s way of living is based on the fathers’ level of success. If the father is not successful the family will not be happy with the life they have. In the movie Back to the Future, Directed by Robert Zemeckis there are many different examples of how the dad, George makes a very large impact on his family’s everyday life based on the way he decides to live his life when he is young. These Changes impact the amount of income he will be bringing in for the family. It is important that at a young age men are able to identify the best path to take when faced with a heavy decision, which may cause a large impact on their future life. When men are able to correctly identify the path, and chose to follow it they will change the path of their life. Once the father stands up for himself it will impact his family financially. stable it gives an allusion of happiness over the family. With the feeling of happiness members of the family have a better reason to be more aware of their health. Once the father has success, good health, and wealth it can have an impact of the outcome of his children, and the relationship with his wife. When a father with low self-esteem alters himself so that he is more confident at a young age it will change his path for successes in his future. In the Movie Back to the Future, George McFly is a shy grown man is the year of 1985. Until his son, Marty goes back in time to 1955, and helps George learn how stand up for himself. After the changes that George makes in 1955, his life in the new 1985 is altered. Because he learns how to stand up for himself he also becomes an author. The director, Robert Zemeckis shows early in the movie that writing is something George enjoys, but because he was to shy he did not pursue it. When men have low self-esteem they have a hard time trusting that their opinions are worth standing up for. When men settle with the basics of life working a nine to five job trying to pay the bills they are not living to their fullest potential. Once a man decides to change, he will start to become more successful. This success will help the man gain a good self-esteem. It is the changes that helps him decide to strive for success. When the father reaches success he has reached his final step of overcoming his low self-esteem problems. Once the father begins to make the necessary changes to having a better it will give him the incentive to work harder. Once the father becomes more successful he will be able to better financially support his family When the head of the house hold changes his past for the better, he will have the power to better support his family financially in the future. In the movie Back to the Future after Marty travels back in time and helps his dad change, he has his own truck that he saw early in the movie, and mentions that he really wanted it. This proves that because of his father’s success he has the ability to provide luxury items for his family. It is the head of the household’s responsibility to bring in the money in for the family. When men are able to explore different career paths it helps them to decide what the best job filed that best suits him. Also to reach his fullest potential he must be happy in the career or he will not have the urge to succeed. Once the man finds a job that he is happy he is given many different opportunity’s to succeed. When a father becomes more successful it will affect the family’s happiness because of the larger income.
In the movie Back to the Future the tones of lighting represents the emotion in the different scenes. At the beginning of the film when the McFly family is at home the lighting is poor which is representing the emotion of sadness in this scene. When Marty time travels back in time, and helps his father change it cause is dramatic change in the families emotional state, and the lighting also changes. Because At the end of the movie when the family is at home the lighting is brighter to help show the family happiness. Film makers’ use the lighting in a movie to help the audience better understand the emotions that the characters are feeling in the movie at a given time. It is said that money cannot buy happiness but it can, but it does. When a family is in a financial bind the head of the house hold becomes stressed with financial responsibility and soon become unhappy. So once the head of the house hold is able to better support his family he becomes relieved and happy because higher amount of money he now
has. When you raise a child as a very success full parent you have a better chance than of your child also being more successful. This is shown in Back to the Future when Marty’s older brother Dave goes from work in the beginning of the movie he works at a fast food restraint but after all the changes were made to George during time travel he has a “office job” and now wears suits to go into work. This is giving of the impression that now because of George standing up for himself he has also given his kid a better chance at being successful and wanting to strive to become a more important person. When growing up it is very important that men think about the choices they make because it can very well impact the kind of kids they have. If a part is more successful the child will grow up understand what they can recessive is they grow up and strive to be successful like their father. To make sure his child grows to their fullest potential he must show them at a young age that it takes time and dedication and does not come easily. The father figures success can alter the relationship he has with his wife. In the movie before Marty travels back in time his parents George and Lurane show no type of attraction to one another. George even ignores her when she is reminiscing on their past together. Once Marty gets back from time traveling there is a big difference in his parents and how George show affection to Lorraine by rubbing her back side. This proves that after George Mcfly become a wealthier man the marriage with Lorraine wan healthy. When to parent are married money can hold a strong burden over them. It is important that in a marriage there is communication between each other or it will put a strain on the relationship. When the family is tight on money it tends to cause couples strong disagreement. “Couples who disagree about finances once a week are over 30 percent more likely to get divorced” say’s the people who work with U.S. Divorce Rates and Statistics. When the father figure is successful it also can benefit the health of the family. When Marty get back from time traveling, and sees his parent for the first time he faints and then says, “Mom, dad you guys look great! Mom you look so thin” When Marty says this is he is surprise at how healthy his parent look compared to how they did before he went time traveling. His parent did not look healthy before because they were unhappy with the way that chose to live their life. As a family gains more money it gives them the feeling of happiness and relief that they have less to financially worry about. When people are happy with the way life is they are more likely to take care of themselves because they feel they have more to live for. Being healthy is very important part of life. If people are unhealthy is can put a label of unhappy on them. The reason unhappy people can be unhealthy is because when they are unhappy that are not given a reason to keep themselves healthy. Many unhappy people become bitter and lazy. This can result in health problems such as depression, and weight gain, which is shown at the beginning of the movie be Lorraine, Marty’s mother. It is important that the father of the house can properly provide for his family. If he is unable to satisfy his family’s wants and need it can cause a chain reaction of bad health and negative emotions. To make sure that his family dose not grow unhealthy and disappointed he must start at a young age. Also he must make sure that he raises his sons to know that they should begin to start shaping there future at a young age by making smart decisions. If his son is raised without the awareness of how important his choices are. The son will not know how to make the right choices for his future making it a domino effect for the future kids to come.
"In the end that was the choice you made, and it doesn't matter how hard it was to make it. It matters that you did." (Cassandra Clare) In the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor, Paul's parents make many decisions that affected Paul's life. From moving to Tangerine, being inattentive towards Paul, and to having secrets kept from him, you could tell Paul Fisher has a pretty crazy life. Those decisions were made by his parents. However, those decisions that his parents made has molded Paul into a stronger person.
In Junot Diaz’s essay “The Money” he explains where his family stands economically. Stating that his father was regularly being fired from his forklifting jobs and his mother 's only job was to care for him and his four siblings. With the money brought home by his father, his mom would save some. Her reason was to raise enough to send to her parents back in the Dominican Republic. When his family went on a vacation, they came back to an unpleasant surprise; their house had been broke into. Eventually Diaz was able to get back their money and belongings. Diaz returned the money to his mother although she didn’t thank him for it, this disappointed him. Like Diaz I have also encountered a similar situation where I was disappointed. When I was in second grade, my life life took a completely different turn. My dad took an unexpected trip to Guatemala, on his return, the outcome was not what I expected.
In “A Long Way Gone”, we follow a twelve-year-old African boy, Ishmael Beah, who was in the midst, let alone survived a civil war in Sierra Leone, that turned his world upside down. Ishmael was a kind and innocent boy, who lived in a village where everybody knew each other and happiness was clearly vibrant amongst all the villagers. Throughout the novel, he describes the horrific scenes he encounters that would seem unreal and traumatizing to any reader. The main key to his survival is family, who swap out from being related to becoming non-blood related people who he journeys with and meets along his journey by chance.
While watching the documentary “Two American Families” there was three aspects I noticed within the two families. The first being how there was a shift in the social class of the families due to economic problems. The second being the role reversal of the male and the female. The third being the effect of the families’ financial instability on the children and their decisions into adulthood.
In “The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells, the author portrays, for the most part, that the choices humans make now cannot drastically change the outcomes in the far future. The obvious representation of social and political classes, even as the time traveler goes 800,000 years into the future, describes this more. The fact that, even 800,000 years later, there are still apparent classes that can determine an individual’s worth guides the reader towards the conclusion that even if an individual were to change the present, it would be impossible to avoid the very same mistake from being repeated in the future.
Cognitive development is where children start to become aware of their surroundings and become familiar with different things. Cognitive development plays enormous roles in a child’s growth into adulthood. In the story, Crews mentions that his first memory was around ten years before he was born, and the memory takes place where he has never been and involves his daddy who he never knew. One of the most important stages of cognitive development is sensorimotor stage. During the sensorimotor stage, children are only aware of the things they see, do, and the physical interactions with their immediate surroundings. Also, according the “The Role of the Father in Child Development”, it suggests the father-child separation period starts at the early age of nine months. Although the narrator was only 18 months old when his father died; he was still unable to make that immediate connection that a child needs from his father. Crews started a quest to find his father’s love; however, he never got a chance to complete. According to “The Role of the Father in Child Development”, the presence of a male model other than a father (e.g. an older brother) may inhibit the negative effects of a father’s absence Biller (1968, 1971a) argues that the father is a superior role model. All fathers are held to a superior role in every child’s life. Fathers are often the superhero that a little boy would like to be. The author always yearned for that superior male figure in his life. Crews’ father lived a life which consisted of drinking, fighting, working long hours, and influencing others to live the same lifestyle. The writer began to question the choices that his father made after he was convicted of his transgressions. Because of the actions of his father, Crews questioned what an ideal father should be and how it impacted his life in a negative
The father’s upbringing was such that financial stability was the priority. The child learned that dads are busy and do not have time to spend with their children. What a devastating realization for a child to conclude. Yet like most little boys, this one wanted to grow up to be like his role model, no matter the example. During the time from childhood to adolescent, parental influence can be either beneficial or detrimental. If the parents have a stable home, clear boundaries and open communications with their teens, the transition could flow easier. The perfect father does not guarantee the child will not rebel.
Since the beginning of time itself, man has been dreaming of time travel. The current model of physics shows no obvious doubts towards the possibility of time travel, which leaves many questions (“Quantum Time Travel”). If the quarrel for time travel holds any truth, how will man manifest the means of going about it? Before the theories set forth by the men and women in the scientific community can be understood, one must have at least a general knowledge of the basics behind quantum mechanics, as well as the estimable; Einstein’s, theory of space-time. Also, in a world where time travel occurs, there is the possibility of a paradox, or impossible situation caused by the travelers’ actions. Many answers to the paradoxes have been set forth by notable people. Possibly the most widely accepted theory of time travel, Einstein’s black hole theory, still holds prevalence to this day. Some other theories have come to light recently, and most are yet to be disproved.
These childhood notes came in handy during the course of my personal, academic and professional life. Born as the elder of the two daughters to a single father, responsibility became second nature to me. I worked hard academically, led many group assignments during my post graduation studies in travel and tourism, received a scholarship and eventually took charge of the family business at a young age. I faced many personal setbacks during this course, but eventually discovered ways to overcome them.
Families often have a profound effect, good or bad, on an individual’s functioning throughout his or her life. Growing up Joe was left to care for his 3 younger siblings when his Dad alcoholic father would disappear for days and his passive-depressed mother would stay in bed. While in some circumstances children (optimum of three) correspond with increased life satisfaction. Joe’s parents were obviously unprepared for the demands of raising children and ran away, Joes Dad to the bottle and Joes mother to her bed, leaving Joe to raise three sibling a task Joe was obvious unprepared to perform due to his young age. For Joe’s parents, and Joe himself, children added little to nothing to life satisfaction and had a negative impact on Joe’s formative years (Compton & Hoffman, 2013).
The mood of this film is truly captured in the lighting and the lighting plays a key role in the accenting the humor of the film. “Deep inky blacks and desaturated colors that characterized the look of Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro’s Delicatessen” (McGrath). The dark nature of the film is maintained using lighting. This helps to set the mood for many scenes and is what provide the juxtaposition. In the few scenes of the film that are purely comedy the dark moody lighting helps to provide contrast to the humor and makes the character’s actions seem even more out of place and
Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a non-fiction book written by Robert Kiyosaki. Kiyosaki takes us into his life to describe to us the difference between two separate households and how they manage money. When you first open up the book, you are immediately shown the confliction Robert has between choosing whose advice to follow. His biological father is known as his poor dad who is highly educated but doesn’t make the right choices when it comes to money. His rich dad isn’t his father but is a childhood friend’s father who is also trying to teach Robert how to manage money. Rich dad has very little education background but the way he deals with money is what made him successful. Robert’s poor dad views education as the main principle to success. As long as you do well in school, you will have a good steady job thought poor dad. Poor dad always stated “I’m not interested in money”, and “money doesn’t matter.” Rich dad on the other hand knew how to make money work for him not the other way around. He felt that in order to succeed and make a lot of money, you need to work for yourself and not others. Robert learned many lessons from both dads and he feels he is very fortunate to have had two father figures to teach him and give him examples on how to become rich and successful.
There are numerous people in society who lack certain skills that they need for survival.
Previously the father’s role was to work and earn money as the primary source of support for the family, while mothers took care of the family by managing the household. The father teaches his children courage and self-confidence while the mother carries over the sense of tenderness to them. Both of them are role models for their children. The male figure, which is the father, is very important in the girl’s life because the good relationship between the father and the daughter will result in being the girl confident and she will start to trust in men and to choose the right person to be her future husband. But the characteristics of individual family members have changed across generations over the past years. Now, mothers are the only or supporting provider for the family. On the other hand, many fathers choose to stay home and take care of the children. Although families all around the world underwent unprecedented modifications that changed the form of nations, there are still traditional family patterns; father, mother, and children. Such huge changes in the structure of the family, immigration, and work have transformed the daily lives of children and their way of living. There are major inferences for the living arrangements of children because of the changing family dynamics. This means that children are not receiving the attention they need from the
Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a book that educates readers about financial literacy. Robert Kiyosaki, the author, has two dads – one rich and one poor, although the rich dad is not his, but his friend’s dad. Both dads have different views about earning money, and Robert had the choice of contrasting both views while growing up. His rich dad’s views were more powerful and useful to Robert. The author guides the reader through six main lessons his rich dad taught him on how to let money work for you, instead of working for money.
