The ultimate reason I deserve this scholarship is because I won’t disappoint you. I am very hardworking and I like to take on challenges. Getting this scholarship would help me achieve my dream. The biggest academic achievement I’ve made is making the B Honor Roll. From seventh grade to tenth grade, I had not made the honor roll once. I did not realize how important grades are and how much they impact your future. This year has been amazing. I’ve achieved not only making the B Honor Roll every quarter, but I’ve learned to study for tests and get a great score on them. It was not easy to get to this point. I had to really push myself to get here. I have never been so proud of myself until now. I’ve learned that if you push yourself and have confidence in yourself, you are capable of doing anything. …show more content…
Every year, since I was in seventh grade, I have helped a teacher at my school teach younger students and kids in the community with volleyball skills. It was two weeks of staying after school until five o’ clock. We’d put first, second, and third grade together. Then we’d put fourth, fifth, and sixth grade together. During the practice I would help them with the simple things like their form, bumping, setting, hitting, and serving. After we worked on all of that, they’d get to choose a game to play to finish off practice. It’s something I enjoy doing, and I’m looking forward to doing it again this year and my senior year. Another service I’ve done is cleaned the ditch along the highway in Badger. It wasn’t the warmest day, and not many people came to help, but the few people that did come helped because we got done sooner. It took about three hours, and I felt it was the longest three hours ever, but when we finally got done, it was such a heart-warming feeling to know I helped out my
I endeavor to obtain excellence in my academics; I wish to exemplify scholarship by constantly asking the whys and hows of things. I will not let a bad grade define who I am as a student or who I will become. I also want to take the most challenging classes available, not because it will look good on my college application, but because I genuinely love the concept of learning and discovering new things. Education doesn’t end after high school, so I plan to attend university, eager to attain the knowledge to better understand my world: and expand it.
The service experience that I enjoyed the most was the Festivice. The Festivice is run by the Special Olympics of York County and was held on January 16, 2016 in downtown York. While I was volunteering at the Festivice, my friends and I had to run the ice sled and supervise kids going on the bouncy house. At the ice sled, I had to collect the sleds after they have been used and return them back to the top. I also had to catch kids at the end of the ice hill. While at the bouncy house, I had to set a timer for three minutes , so that every kid gets a fair amount of time to play in the bouncy house and I had to supervise the kids.
During my early education, meaning elementary school and middle school, I was a very average student. I gave an average amount of effort to my grades, and I received above average results. This did not bother me, until the end of my 8th-grade year. At this point in the year, I was filling out what classes I desired to take the following year, my freshman year. I realized that from this point forward, I had to take my education much more serious, in order to get accepted to whichever college I desired. therefore, when planning my classes, I decided to challenge myself more than I ever have in the past, and take multiple honors courses. I assumed because of my grades, that I had what it took to be an honors-level student, but I was very wrong. One teacher, Mrs. Johnson, made me realize the kind of effort, time and energy needed to be devoted to my education.
Getting this scholarship was my jump start to furthering my education and I knew from there that I was going to prove statistics wrong. I knew I was going to college and that things were going to be different for me and I was going to make a difference. I won’t be the black kid who drops out of school, because my education is too important to
Why do I deserve the UNGMS scholarship and what are my educational and career goals?
A personal accomplishment that I am proud of is when I got all A’s throughout the school year and made the honor roll for the first time, the reason why this is an accomplishment because I never made the honor roll in any of my school years, this was major for me because I proved a lot of people who thought I could never get an A in school or even make the honor roll because of my past grade point average.

I need this scholarship to achieve my goals and most importantly to make my family proud. My family did not get this chance that you are giving me so I am not just doing this for me, I am also doing this for them. I already have all the support from all of my family and all of my friends, but that alone is not enough to conquer my dreams, and to prove all the people that have doubted me that they were wrong. I hope that this organization can help me reach my goals, and to most importantly make them become a reality. I want to look back onto my life and know that this scholarship, and college helped me to be the man I will be. I hope you accept me into your college and most importantly giving me this
Over the past few years I have volunteered as an usher at my church, as a food vender at the PGA Honda Classic, helping my best friends mom in her classroom, working a food stand at a local softball tournament, as an assistant coach to a 10U travel softball team, and as a camp counselor at a softball camp. Personally, I think that being an assistant coach for a 10U travel softball team helped shape me a lot. Helping coach the younger travel team felt great to give back to the community, and it made me think of where my own softball journey began. I absolutely loved coaching the younger girls because I am now much more experienced in the game and can help them a lot more and get them stronger so that they can excel more in the game. I want them to love the sport just as much as I did when I was younger so that their love for the game will grow even more just as mine did. Coaching these girls was one of the best things I could’ve ever done. Talking to the girls about when I started softball, what my favorite part of the game is, going to college to play the game I love, how much they love the game now, and how they’ll all be in my shoes in a matter of years had me grinning from ear to ear. I loved every minute of it, I loved hitting to the girls, working on their fielding, pushing them to be their best, making sure they put 110% effort into everything they did, and
I have come to realize in life that every penny counts, and so it is my hope that some of the burdens that I will face will be lifted. Why I need this Scholarship (100 words) I have very ambitious goals that I am hoping to achieve, and I am coming to find that in order to achieve them I am going to end up with a substantial amount of debt. I need this scholarship because I have the mindset that every penny counts, and I am hoping to help relieve some of the stress that I have over money. I would greatly appreciate this generous scholarship because it could be put to great use to help fund my future educational plans as an undergraduate student at Judson
Between the stressful schedules and pricey cost to attend to the difference between getting a job and not getting it was a high school diploma or a college degree. I am interested in furthering my education through college and eventually graduate school, because I believe and know that my degree will give me the best possible chance to be successful in whatever I choose to do after I graduate. I’m confident that I will not only be able to put in an excess amount of time and effort, but be able to surpass the goals I am setting for myself. Being considered for this scholarship will aid me on my path to success. I’m committed to making a great name for myself and to being a role model to those who are younger than
The proudest action I have encountered, would be making the Dean’s List my first semester of college. I ended my first semester at Kent State with a 3.7 GPA. I do not think my parents have been more proud of me than in the moment they found out how well I had done. Neither of my parent went to college, so it’s important for my siblings and I to go to college and graduate. My older sister has already graduate college, and now it is my turn. My circumstances and environment played a major role in my academic career.
I joined any group I could to further my education about technology and how they worked. Through hard work and perseverance I overcame many hardships in my life and became the dedicated, hardworking, and motivated student I am today. My biggest accomplishment in school is when I graduated high school early despite what others said. I decided that public high school was not for me, because of all of the distractions I had. So I begged my mom to transfer me to butterflied high school. I went one time a week to meet with my teacher were I turned in all my homework and took my tests. I feel that going
Before I tell you the reasons of why I should be awarded this scholarship. I want to Thank you for allowing students the opportunity to be granted this scholarship. As for me, I believe I should be awarded this scholarship because of the hard work and dedication I contributed during my high school time. Completing high school with a weighed GPA over a 3.0 is a challenging task. I was born a premie weighting 2 lbs 1.8oz, which came from being born 12 weeks early.
