That’s a hard question to answer because each of them had different goals, Stringer wanted to be a respected businessman and Marlo only cared about his power and reputation. And none of them achieved their goals. I will try to compare them anyway.
Let’s see their strengths and weaknesses which in some cases are flip sides of each other:
**Avon Barksdale**
*Strengths: *Avon intuitively understood the drug trade or the so-called “the game.” He understood that the game involved violence, and reputation was of tremendous important. Brother Mouzone to Avon:
>What got you here is your word and your reputation. With that alone, you've still got an open line to New York. Without it, you're done.
That is why he had to act quickly to eliminate Marlo

I bleed red and you bleed green. I look at you these days, String, you know what I see? I see a man without a country. Not hard enough for this right here and maybe, just maybe, not smart enough for them out there.
He also fatally misjudged Brother Mouzone and Omar.
**Marlo Stanfield**
*Strengths: *He is absolutely ruthless and is willing to eliminate anyone on his way. He is also a quick learner. Over the course of three seasons, he starts to launder money, get a lawyer and infiltrate Proposition Joe’s inner circle while picking his brain. He is intelligent and understands the game. He lives and breathes the game and his reputation and power. Moreover, he doesn’t follow any rules.
*Weaknesses: *He kills way too many people. His greatest strength is his weakness as well. Moreover, like Avon, he sees the game as an end in itself. His reputation and power is everything for him. That’s why, at the end of the series, even though he is free, and rich, and connected, he is still a loser. He won’t be able to change and adept, as he tells Prop Joe before he kills him:
>The truth is, you won’t be able to change up any more than me.
Also,

No way do I crawl back in.
His nephew is his ultimate downfall. The rule number one in business: never mix family and business.
>Who you tellin'? I got muthafuckin' nephews and in-laws fuckin' all my shit up all the time, and it ain't like I can pop a cap in they ass and not hear about it Thanksgivin' time. For real, I'm livin' life with some burdensome niggas.
Ultimately, what you learn from The Wire is that running an organization is a not a one man show. Choosing people you surround yourself with is the most important decision you can make.
Avon got arrested because Stringer betrayed him. Stringer got killed because Avon betrayed him. Proposition Joe got killed because his nephew betrayed him. Marlo was disappointed and angry because his second kept him in dark and misinformed him. And if he ever decides to go back in the game, I doubt he will any formidable success with Chris and Snoop and others that carried out his orders.
I cannot say who was the best CEO between those four, but I can tell you who is the best CEO in The Wire, and that’s The
in a number of ways. One good aspect of his character is the fact that
...nk and feel. Members of the mob are made to feel that they own a part of the organization and that their extra effort directly translates to the success or failure of their business. Believing one has the ability to make an impact makes all the difference in employee engagement and job satisfaction. When compared to current corporate structures, people feel they are not being rewarded for good effort. Many people go to work and waste time but still get paid the same amount. They feel like they could get by with minimal effort or resort to absenteeism and the corporation would not feel the effect. They have no real connection or stake in the organization’s success. Over time, this mindset creates deadwood that needs to be removed. The mob sees people who are not useful as liabilities. Henry, Tommy, and Jimmy knew how to clear out deadwood. ~C.R.
I feel that the movie has no weaknesses. This is because even though I had a few things I didn’t like such as the anonymity given, I realised that there was a reason for this which I explained in my strengths of the movie below.
From they aspect that these men are icons in our society it is important to see that that set up a form of business that is so widely practiced it is almost impossible to find a CEO that does not run multiple parts in our market. Basically these men set a viable mold for present day economics. For example the companies of MSN, NBC, MSNBC, Time Warner Cable, Warner Bros, CNN and many more are all owned and operated by the same group of people. However, there are many other issues that stem from this control of such economical giants that will have to be touched on during some latter date.
...art, wise, and a good person which makes him a strong sidekick hero for Rick.
Weaknesses: Like his father Zeus, Apollo is all too happy to enjoy the charms of nymphs, as well as the occasional youth, and his conquests number in the dozens.
For example, they were both the greatest rulers of their empires. Elizabeth was the last of the large Tudor family, while Peter was Ivan’s successor and then he was succeeded by Catherine I. They were both also great political leaders;provided that, they both created new, stronger, and more able governments. Each of them also expanded the power of the country by exploring overseas, competing with neighboring countries, and supporting trade and industry. Yet, they both were very different. First of all, Elizabeth was well liked by the people of England, and Peter was disliked among the Orthodox Church and many people in his empire. Also, Peter would secularize schools making them non-religious and Elizabeth and her country were very religious. Lastly, Peter created the Table of Ranks, which had sectioned off his people;conversely, Elizabeth created the Poor Laws and cared for the victims of poverty. Lastly, Elizabeth was a great supporter of the arts ,but, Peter was more interested in trade. Each of them were magnificent leaders who only made their empires stronger and more
He is muscular and that’s because he has been popular. He looks muscular because he works out. And if any of the greasers has a chance of improving his lot in life and making something of himself, it is Darry
them, they both are on a journey to keep themselves alive. Another I got in common they have is confidence,
They are both put into two completely different positions, therefore they both act, and shape their characters in different ways.
In organizations aspiring for growth and continual improvement, relationships are more intricate and alternatives more numerous than the either/or imposition implied by the notion of leaders and followers. Practically no one leads all of the time. Leaders also work as followers; all in all, “everyone uses a portion of their day following and another portion leading” (Galie and Bopst, 2006, p. 11).
They are both determined to get what they want by using the skills they know. They will both work hard to get the job they want. They are both very resourceful. They will use their resources to help solve problems they experience.
His highly complacent attitude often leads to problems. Although he generally is very blunt, his desire to be humble and respected can come in the way of him expressing words that are essential to the avoidance of a conflict. This is his major character flaw. His quick manner of
Physical: Oliver is a very physical young man, there are not too many moments he is not on the move. He experiments with different ways of moving, demonstrates balancing skills, uses gross-motor manipulatives, and shows fine-motor strength and coordination that is age appropriate. Oliver’s physical development is among one of his greatest strengths.
This means that if he does not marry his niece, he is risking their family’s honour and reputation.
