Life holds many milestones that people want to reach at some point in they're lives. One goal that teenagers want to reach is being able to drive. Having the knowledge on how to drive can be very essential since almost everybody travels by vehicle. While driving might sound really cool, not many teenagers might understand that there are two types of transmission: automatic and manual. Many people own a vehicle that is automatic since it's so common, but there are also people who own a vehicle with a manual transmission because they find driving with a stick shift really fun. Although it's mostly based on personal belief, I find/would prefer automatic over manual because one can have both hands on the wheel at all times, the vehicle won't stall while driving (or at least have a less chance), and it's so simple to learn and use. …show more content…
This is a very important point because it will help having more control on your vehicle and it's the safest way to drive. This is the most commonly way driving is taught when learning behind-the-wheel. Another reason I had preferred automatic is because the vehicle won't stall while driving (or at least have a less chance). When a vehicle stalls, it could be a hassle in order to move your vehicle to the side. Plus, it might even be really embarrassing. My final reason (and my favorite reason) why I prefer automatic is because it is so simple to learn and use. Now a days, driver instructors are no longer teaching how to drive manual vehicle. Many people (especially teenagers) who learn how to drive are taught to drive an automatic vehicle because as many drivers and many drivers education instructors mention "it such a easy way for everyone to
It seems obvious that automation has been a highly instrumental force in changing American society, and to oppose automation would seemingly be a definite resistance to change. While opinions today may differ on whether or not automation has improved our way of life, I would argue that there are few who could live without at least some of the conveniences that automation makes possible.... ... middle of paper ... ...
A vast majority of our population find operating a manual transmission, or stick shift, to be extremely difficult. However, in actuality all it takes is some serious practice and devotion to make driving a stick shift like second nature. For successful driving, the same steps must be followed each time the car is driven.
A robotic driver can think faster and smarter than a human driver -- and look in all directions at once. That’s the idea behind autonomous driving, where you take your hands off the wheel and let the car do the driving for you.
You want to get a new car, but you are not sure whether to get one with an automatic transmission or one with a manual transmission. Well read on and perhaps this essay will help you out with your decision. Cars have played a big role in my life. When I was a little kid my dad and I used to work on his 197? Ford Granada. Every time something would go wrong with the car he would ask me to help him fix it. Not because I knew much about cars, because I didn't know anything about the subject, but because he wanted me to learn about cars and spend some time with me. Or maybe he just didn't want me to get ripped off at a garage when something went wrong with my car. Either way, we spent a lot of time working on cars. He taught me to love cars; I think it was because of him that I got really into cars. Unlike most people when they do something for a long time, they tend to get bored of whatever it is they're doing. But I, instead of getting bored of cars, the more I work on them, the more I like them. What I really like about cars is the engine. A car can look beautiful and exciting on the outside, but if you don't have enough power under the hood, the car will just end up being boring. The transmission plays a really big role on the car too because, besides getting power to the wheels, it can make or break the car. There are two different kinds of transmissions, automatics and manuals. Stick shift cars have played a bigger role in my life than automatics. If you want your drive to be boring or you're just lazy, no pun intended, ...
I have been wanting to drive because it will be one of the most useful life skills after I graduate from high school. To me, being able to drive means to have a convenient, interesting life, and being a helpful person. My life will be more convenient when I can drive by myself. I am jealous of the day students who can drive off campus to have food when they do not have classes. For those of us who can not drive, the only chance to get out of the school is to up for the school shuttles that can only go certain destinations.
People who are willing and fascinate with technologies recommend to use fully Automated Driving System.
A car with good handling and stability is much safer to drive than a poorly designed one. This is because it grips better and is more responsive.
There are many distracted or impaired drivers on the road which neither would be the case with a self-driving car. According to, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Alcohol impaired driving accounted for 31% of auto accident fatalities in 2013 (NTSA 3). Therefore, Self-driving vehicles would essentially eliminate or at the very least dramatically reduce this statistic, saving many lives each year. It is like having a designated driver built into your vehicle.
The chief disadvantage of EV's is that they usually can travel no more than 100 miles before their batteries must be charged (Harverdink, 1). While on the other side I only need to fill up the gas tank every 200 miles. Now, if you've ever been to Sitka, Alaska then of course you realize that from one end of the island to the next it is only about 14 miles, which is just the main road. There are all sorts of smaller roads that lead to more houses and stores. Being a teenager like myself, in a small town all that you can do is cruise around to kill some time. My boyfriend and I pretty much drive 100 miles in a day. Just from going back and forth and back and forth. Then we at least have one more day of doing that before we have to fill up the tank again. So for me, I think that it is better to have a gas car rather than electric.
Teenagers are getting back on the roads and behind the wheel, meaning the risk of accidents is higher. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among 15- to 20-year olds. Automakers are creating ways to make their automobiles safer in order to reduce these deaths. Teenage drivers are inexperienced and need the extra protection to keep them safe if an incident were to occur. Automobile safety features are necessary for the teenage driver to stay protected and alert.
Driving a car and obtaining a driver’s license does perhaps seem to provide people with a great sense of independence and freedom. Teenagers need to feel independent in order to learn to become successful on their own as well as realize how to handle life situations on their own, and having a license seems the perfect start and most effective way to do so. When teenagers feel this independence they tend to act more mature, knowing the responsibilities they must now carry on their own (More4Kids). Teenagers often look forward to the freedom that driving offers as well. Teenagers are able to take drives to escape from life’s many stressed, and leave any troubles at home behind without rebelling out against their loved ones.
Learning to drive is an experience many people go through at usually a young age. The responsibility of learning is big because it can mean life or death to yourself and others. Being a male it is expected you can drive well under pressure and think out your plan of action when in danger. To drive a car with manual transmission is a different journey and it requires more skills and the ability to multitask at any given second. Every driving experience starts off with learning to drive but everybody’s experience is different.
...ood reason that why people use it. In contrast, private cars, it has more flexible, comfortable and more safe although it is also more expensive than public transport, private car is still be a choice for people. These considerably differences between public transport and private car will become to suitable options if people are deciding to choose vehicles for responding their demand in the travel.
“Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time,” said by Steven Wright. Teenagers look forward to their sixteenth birthday so they are able to drive. Everyone has felt that feeling where they can hardly wait to get behind the wheel and start driving. Little do people know teen drivers are more likely to die from a car accident than from a homicide, suicide, or cancer combined (Littlefield). They are mostly inexperienced with the road and how to handle distractions. If the age were moved to eighteen teenagers would have more driving experience (Sostarecz). Teenage drivers are extremely eager to drive because of freedom, but they are not aware of the distractions and peer pressure on the road; their experience of driving is not as well as others and statistics show how many deaths are caused due to teenage driving.
One of the most important advantages of owning a car is convenience. It allows you the freedom to go anywhere you want whenever you want. There is no hanging about waiting for public transport to turn up in potentially bad weather.
