Athletes Paid Too Much Essay

Are salaries of celebrities too much or too little? The average money an athlete makes in the NBA is $5.15 million, MLB $3.2 million, and MLS get paid $0.16 million. The lowest paid 10 percent of actors only make $8.79 per hour, but the top ten percent made $90 an hour. Independent actors made $45.39 per hour and people who worked in a motion picture made $43.33 an hour. Personally, actors and athletes should be paid on how well they do in their tasks as well as how much they contribute.

Although not all actors make this amount, many of them do.” This unknown writer is correct and has a really good point on how much actors could make just off of one movie. “ Is it fair that Tom Cruise gets millions and firefighters get stuffed, in comparison?” Marcus Geduld also has a good point because firefighters save lives every day while actors just provide us with entertainment and not much else. Some people could disagree with me, though. Actors work very hard and I cannot deny that. However, if actors mess up they get another chance. Someone like a police officer doesn’t and they have to live with that mistake. In a job, it’s really about hard work. Actors are just based on luck if the movie comes out to be good.

Now that I think more about it, it’s still based on hard work and determination, but these contracts for athletes and actors aren’t deserved. All of these people were very correct and the majority of what they said was true. Real people who contribute day and night deserve the money. What do you think about this topic?
