When you look up in the sky what do you think and what do you see, well i see hundreds of light years of exploration. We should focus on this because it could save us from asteroids.I think we should focus on space explosion because it could save us from a asteroid, it could help us learn more about the galaxy and how it works , and finally it could solve big problems on earth. One reason that we should focus on space exploration is that it could save us from asteroids. For example the NASA page it talks about how it’s helping trying to protect us from asteroids it saids that “The program focuses on finding asteroids 460 feet (140 meters) and larger that represent the most severe impact risks to Earth. The goal of the program is to find at least 90 percent of these asteroids early enough to allow deflection or other preparations for impact mitigation. By January 2018, discovery of near-Earth objects of all sizes had surpassed the 17,500 mark – an 84 percent increase since January 2013.” which shows how good NASA’s tec. Is. also they protect us from NEOs which are near earth objects NEOs can have NEAs which are near earth asteroids and NEC which are near earth comets. …show more content…
Plus MRI might help cure cancer! When you think about it that a pretty big deal. Also when NASA was researching about how to get clean water they found that they could use a special water filter which could them filter water. NASA makes/helps make many new tec. smoke detectors were made by NASA plus some help , NASA also made it’s own tec made by NASA only. For finding people under wreckage it is called the finder which was made to hear and see human heart beats. You can find more at NASA
Michael Massimino, one of NASA’s astronauts, says it best, “you have bills to pay, but you always want to put something away for your kids’ college fund. NASA is like a college fund, we are the future” (Massimino 1). NASA not only does space research, but daily around the world items developed from NASA’s research are used.... ... middle of paper ... ...
In conclusion, Continuing NASA and the programs run by it, is harmful to American society and Government. NASA harms the economy. NASA also harms the environment in which we live. And the money that NASA spends could be used to help solve problems in our country, not on another planet. Only if we work together, fixing our own problems first, respectfully with each other, as one body, one world, and one planet, then we will be able to reach out into space. We will be able to explore it safely, efficiently, and environmentally soundly.
These are the reasons why I believe there should be more investment in space research and technology. It would be a time consuming and financially draining quest, but the pay off in new technology, applications, resources, and expansion opportunities make it a goal to strive for. As our rate of consumption of Earth’s natural resources continues to increase, it is imperative that we invest in the research of outer space as a possible solution to sustaining the human race.
Being able to send people up into space was an extraordinary influential event for mankind. It told us that there were whole new worlds and concepts out there ready to be explored. The fundamentals of the solar system led us to discover more about the gravitational pull of the sun and other planets, which has helped aid us in launching probes and even setting the course for the International Space Station. Fundamentals like microbial life on Mars and the exotic environments of planets and moons have driven space exploration to a whole new level. In addition, due to space telescopes, we have learned new things that we had never heard nor seen about. The things that we have seen in space like supernovas, the creation of stars, and things like black holes have driven us farther and farther into space. In conclusion, as long as man has curiosity, there will be no end to what we will uncover in space. For this reason, this is why the Space Race was so important. It kicked started a chain of events that will have mankind exploring more of
NASA has made great advancements, we continue to explore the vast solar system filled with magnificent sights. There is so much more out there, from black holes to some of the biggest stars coming to the end of their life cycle. With all this out there waiting for us why don't we pursue all the possibilities out there, all the knowledge and advancements we’d gain would be significant. We must continue to fund these space exploration projects to see all that there is to see. We would discover there’s more to space than we think maybe more the the life cycle of a star or more to nuclear fusion. It's important that we expand and explore to find a new planet, one day this planet will die and we need somewhere to go and something to do, if our species wish to live on. Its also paying off in many other ways. Technological advancements you see today like your phone was possible through space exploration even though you may not think of it. The space programs have made huge advancements in our world such as more fire resistant clothing and, car interior. We went from having a 70 pound micro computer with just 40 KB of memory (Less than a GB, Less than a MB(Which is 100 times smaller than a GB) so it's 40/1000 of a MB) Today we have 1 TB(1000 GB) flash drive the size of your thumb in just about 40 years. Allowing us to miniaturize
Since the dawn of human civilization, people have explored almost everywhere around the world in some way, including space. Astronauts have based their job description on research and exploration, which does sounds entertaining, but the hazards and work involved are dangerous itself. Education for these individuals is difficult but worth it if he/she would want to go to space and go research. The work environment is either small or scary depending on what kind of person they are, and might be sick or exciting for some people. Without astronauts and people to explore the boundary of the galaxy, we would be without knowledge of things outside of the people's world, making them beneficial to society .
Asteroids are mysterious rocks in space that are deadly to living things on Earth. Asteroids have hit multiple planets every day, including earth, many times before, that's what people say what killed the Dinosaurs, with no doubt asteroids are dangerous for humans and animals. We have known about asteriods for many many years. More then you could ever imagine. We have known that they hit us and planets everyday or even once a week for it to hit earth. Anyway this peice will tell you the dangers, the wonders, and the facts about astiroids. (NASA Team, pg. 2)
Asteroids have been around for centuries but scientists have been trying to conduct a machine that will capture the asteroid to protect and mine the material. I think we should fund asteroid studies because we can protect the earth, collect resources, and find new technology. When we capture the asteroid then we can find many different things in the asteroid and probably outside it too. If we fund asteroid studies to protect the earth we can create a device or machine that will collect or destroy asteroids. The main reason scientists need to capture asteroids is to protect the earth from asteroids that may survive the burning sensation of the atmosphere.
According to ushistory.org, governments are formed to protect people from conflicts and to provide law and order. Although an asteroid wiping out the entire earth is not technically a conflict, it would probably be difficult to do those things if the earth was uninhabitable and everyone was dead. So, of course the government has an obligation to search for and protect people from killer asteroids. At the moment, NASA has the Planetary Defense Coordination Office as part of its planetary science division. PDCO is responsible for all NASA-funded projects that search for and catalog asteroids and comets that pass near the earth.
There are many reasons advancements in space exploration are important but the most pressing reason is that our planet will not be able to sustain itself forever. In about 7.59 billion years, our sun is going to become a red giant. This occurs because the sun runs out of its main fuel, hydrogen, at its core. When this occurs, “The Suns current radius will expand to 256 times its current size, but it will lose 33% of its mass (Schroder, K.P. & Smith, Robert 2008).” As the Sun loses mass, its gravitational pull on earth weakens. “With the reduced solar mass and, consequently, lower gravitational attraction, all planetary orbits-that of Earth included-are bound to expand (Schroder, K.P. & Smith, Robert 2008) .” The speed at which the Earth moves away from the Sun is not fast enough to exceed the speed at which the Sun expands. Water on Earth will be boiled away and the Suns s...
“Why should we go into space? What is the justification for spending all the effort and money on getting a few lumps of moon rocks? Aren’t there better causes here on Earth?”- Stephen Hawking. Space is the everlasting, ever growing place where we happen to reside. From the beginning of intelligent life here on Earth, we have wanted to learn. Whether it be simply constructing a fire, or solving the riddles that still puzzle us to this day. Many of the questions we still have are pertaining to space. Are we alone? How did we get here? Where are we going? Many answers can come from exploring space. Getting a “few lumps of moon rock” can answer so many questions we asked ourselves for millennia. Can we truly belong in a place we do not know about? Space exploration will better us now and in the future for several reasons.
The 1960's brought new advancements for all of Earth. Machines and men were sent into space, and this sparked a new government agency, called NASA. Space was a new frontier, and virtually everyone was interested in exploring it. Over the years, the interest in space exploration has weakened, and NASA was almost terminated from existence, although there have been many advancements in it over that time. Space exploration should continue because it could help solve many problems on Earth, such as overpopulation and lack of resources. Exploration of the final frontier must continue in order for human life to continue.
Most people think that the costly downside to funding space exploration is a reason to avoid spending money on sciences and instead spend it on problems here on earth, but such funding for space exploration actually promotes economical as well as scientific benefits. Space exploration is an important expenditure for the high cost because of the potential for numerous benefits such as the possibility to find useful resources to cultivate, space exploration and satellites produce many thousands of jobs in our economy, and it creates and discovers newer and better technologies through research and development.
Space exploration is amazing in my opinion, and I feel that we should have more. Space exploration is when we explore outside of the Earth. We have learned a great deal from space exploration.
By being in a very technologically advanced era, scientists can invent revolutionary devices never thought of. NASA is doing that right now and has been doing that since it began. They are not only climbing the stairs in space exploration but in the medical industry, too. Nevertheless, they are forever changing millions of lives by using all they have discovered. Most of all, they are teaching people a life lesson, to always use the things you have for the greater good. NASA has achieved profound success ever since their start in 1958 and they will continue to make discovery and innovation their first and foremost goal for years to come.
