Just like cultures around the world, Asian cultures have numerous issues. Asia is struggling to find a method to better its society. Just like America, Asians have numerous issue in the everyday life, millions of people are suffering through anxiety, addiction and numerous other obstacles. These issues have been prevalent throughout the social history of Asia. Below I will highlight what I consider to be some important issues within the Asian culture.
In Asia the motivation for the future of youths is dull. The pressure these new generations face is demanding. The more recent generations have come to learn that the world is full of competitors. Social media and digital media can have positive and negative outcomes. Today, many young people have used digital media as an outlet of coping with pressure and anxiety. Many people have started to publish blogs and talk about their days. In China and around the world, social media helps the young to mingle with the world. This gives the young people an opportunity to network with the other side of the world and become more open with other personality. It allows these people to express themselves, and relieve stress. In Korea, due to strictness, school and work, teens have taken the opportunity to express themselves anonymously through social media. Social media is a diverse and open space to connect with others who are going through the same problems or have similar issues. Which can help you cope with problems if you need advice. Older generations argue that digital media has caused today 's generation to be be lazy. Some of that is true, people use it to play games and lose track of time, others get distract themselves by becoming interested in Hollywood
The Asian American history is the history of the ethnic and racial groups in the United States who are of Asian descent. Spickard (2007) shows that the "'Asian American' was an idea created in the 1960s to bring together the Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino Americans for a strategic and political purposes.
Keep in mind that this is a very general overview. There are many different cultures within Asia and they are all different. Asian students are very culturally diverse, and an effort should be made to learn about their individual characteristics and cultural background.
Asians are one of the fastest growing groups in the United States and their culture is unique. A majority of the Asian culture is known for making big dinners to bring the family together to simply talk or celebrate together. There are three main categories of Asian dietary culture, which are the southwest, northwest and southeast. We will be focusing on the second largest dietary culture of Asia, which is in the northeast that contains China, Korea, and Japan. Food in this culture is not only a method of fueling ones body it is also used in certain types of medicines to heal ailments and also used in religious offerings.

Today marriage is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as the relationship between a husband and a wife or a similar relationship between people of the same sex. For the purposes of this paper, it will focus on marriage between a man and a woman and how marriage is differently defined between the American and Chinese cultures. This paper will discuss the cultural differences found between the American and Chinese culture with emphasis on age and mate-selection. The cultural differences between American and Chinese culture related to marriage practices shows that Americans value individualism and Chinese historically value collectivism.
Before taking this Asian American class, I only knew that this class is an academic discipline about history, experience, culture, and policies relevant to Asian American. However, the professor, Stohler used interesting teaching style to talk about how this class relates to Asian American’s history, such as providing the PowerPoint and let every students discussing in the class or online. I found out that students could pay more attentions on this teaching style. Owing to this quarter almost ended, there are some reflections and ideas in my mind. Social media has changed the way people communicate with each other and in turn, has affected our ability to empathize in both negative and positive ways. One of the most harmful consequences is the rise of cyber-bullying. Another negative issue has been the trend of trolling in comments sections of websites, chat rooms, and other online venues of communication. In spite of this, there have been constructive consequences due to social media such as the ability for family and friends to keep in touch on a regular basis. Because of social media, many people are finding support and resources to help them when they fall on hard times or experience tragedies like death and illness. Asian Americans feel the need to respect their family’s reputation by appeasing the demands and expectations that their parents have for them. Asian students believe that education is important because of the views pushed on them by their parents. Educational pressure from Asian American parents play a large role in their children’s vocational outcomes.
Recent advancements in technology have created a new form of communication. We call this new type of communication social media. Some of the big names in social media are Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. Most people today use some form of social media on a daily basis. Social media is most popular amongst adolescents. According to a poll conducted by Infographic, nine out of ten teenagers have used social media. Whenever a new technological advancement occurs there is concern over how it will affect society. In the case of social media, the concern is greatest for adolescents. So, how does social media effect adolescents? Social media can have both negative and positive effects. Some of the effects of using social media can be depression, addiction, cyberbullying and exposure to inappropriate content.
In our ways of distinguishing and differentiating different groups of people, there tends to be an oversimplification of how we perceive race, gender, and other groups (32). This is a problem because it creates an idea that such organizations completely or accurately define groups of people. Consequently, the presence of stereotypes occur and function to potentially create harmful associations and social reactions. To be more specific, different groups of people will elicit specific reactions which are a response to already-present stereotypes. In the case of the stereotype content model, these reactions are measured by warmth and competence.

Social media has nothing but negative effects on people’s minds. Social networking can become very addicting and people can get wrapped up in the drama and excitement of the cyber world. It would only improve our society today if social media never existed to our knowledge. Our society today feels so connected with social media that it interferes with our lives making every task even harder with the temptations.
Social media can be used in our days as a very helpful tool for many things in changing any person’s life ant attitude. It has a positive impact on the society level.
