The Aryan Brotherhood is a large prison gang, spread out in many United States prisons. They, in fact, are still active today. The Aryan Brotherhood is also a racist group, and are very violent. In this following document you will learn of the Aryan Brotherhood’s many atrocities. This document was formed for an 8th grade English class. The Aryan Brotherhood is a massive, widespread gang of criminals, former inmates, and racists. They have a rough total of twenty thousand members across the United States. They, being racist aside being criminals, have enemies, like the Black Guerrilla Family (BGF), Crips, Bloods, El Rukns. Many of these groups are black or mexican, as their names may have stated. To join, all you had to do was kill a black …show more content…
or mexican person, and to leave, you had to be in a body bag. It all started in the late 50’s and early 60’s when a gang named the Blue Bird Gang started, it was created due to other gangs like the Mexican Mafia and the Black Guerilla Family. When the BBB started to accept new members, they renamed themselves the Aryan Brotherhood, or the AB. The AB controls gambling, narcotics, “punk” selling, and other contraband inside prison walls. Outside, they are out for hire to murder, rob, to sell methamphetamine etc. Later in the Aryan history, the 80’s, the group started to tear themselves apart from the top.
The first was Michael “Big Mac” McElhiney. He, and others, were tired of being stuck in prison, or control units. They were also “bribed”, so to speak, with immunity to prosecution, food, cigarettes, good housing etc. to leak information to the FBI. This produced a 140 page indictment withholding 32 murders accountable to the AB. Michael was worried for the future of the Aryan Brotherhood, so he went to court, and called many members to it as defense witnesses. The court may have slipped a bit, letting all of them stay in the same building together. This allowed the group to formulate a decent defense plan. They also sent notes to a large amount of prisons and threatened the top gang of the time, the Dirty White Boys, to join the Aryan Brotherhood or be “hit” on site. These notes that had been sent contained the words, quote, “Kill as many D.C. n@##$%& as possible”. But this attack never came about, as it was planned on Halloween night, 1999. When Michael went back to court, he was in the midst of a deadlocked jury, so he was returned to his cell, but he had to get out. The Aryan Brotherhood was losing power in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. All the remaining AB wanted to do was get out of the Control Units. Now, the AB is doing relatively well, having many prisons with informants, members etcetera in them. The AB also is still trafficking drugs, taking in murder cases and other
criminal cases.
The impression that I made out from watching this film is that back in 1965 in Los Angeles the gangs Crips and Bloods was found to protect black Americans from the violence cause by white police officers and white gang members. During those periods black kids in high school and junior schools were being attacked by white students in school so black people teamed up together to fight against them in school; and that was how the black gangs became. Some gangs were sponsored by Slausons, Farmers, Bausinessmen, and Gladiators. Moving forward, bastards of the party came from a passage in city of quartz which was later made a documentary film in 2005, it was produced by Alex Demyanenko, and directed by a former blood gang member Cle Sloan. Inside this movie, it explored the creation of two of Los Angeles’s notorious gangs Crips and Bloods from the perspective of Los Angeles community.
The Silber Medal winning biography, “Surviving Hitler," written by Andrea Warren paints picture of life for teenagers during the Holocaust, mainly by telling the story of Jack Mandelbaum. Avoiding the use of historical analysis, Warren, along with Mandelbaum’s experiences, explains how Jack, along with a few other Jewish and non-Jewish people survived.
This group is the Ku Klux Klan. This group of people were known primarily for their very Nazi-based ideologies, which in turn, they ended up murdering many who were not white, or even burning down the homes and business’ of those who weren’t. They were strongly against the progressive movement of the American Government toward the African American people. Although today this group has lost many in numbers, there are still a surprisingly large amount of people who are part of
The Slauson gang emerged in a African American community in Southern Los Angeles. The gang was originally just a club for young African American men and it served as a way of creating a sense of belonging. These young men were rejected from well-known organizations like the boy scouts, the cub scouts, and the explorer scouts simply because they were black. These young men in a show of defiance formed the Slauson club, which was at least one group that they were able to get into. The club provided them with meaning, purpose, and a sense of belonging that they had been missing in their lives. The Slauson gang was similar to other organizations in that it served the same purpose, it brought people together in what could almost be seen as an act
Led by members known as Z-1 and Z-2, Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano and Jaime Gonzalez Duran changed the face of Mexican crime forever. The Zetas were then known for their brutality in their dealings with citizens and rival cartels that refused to cooperate with the Gulf Cartel. As the government started to crack down on crime, the Zetas continued to get more violent, recruiting more military members and submitting them through training of their own. As the Zetas grew and got higher up into the Gulf Cartel there was a lot of animosity. Gulf Cartel members were reluctant to let these new members get into the higher ups of the organization. This led to the Zetas pushing harder in their dealings and eventually fully splitting from the cartel to form the independent Los Zetas Cartel in 2010. The Zetas are now over 3000 members strong with most of them hav...
The Aryan Brotherhood started in 1964 was founded by Tyler Bingham and Barry Mills who were white supremacists and Irish American bikers. It started at the San Quentin state prison. The prison group was created to protect white prisoners from the black inmates. The cause changed into revenue when the group gained power. This gang is the most violent white supremacists group, and over one hundred murders have been attributed to this gang during its existence. The gang has been listed for assaults and brutal murders on police officials. It is one of the largest prison gangs in United States with branches in Nevada, California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Georgia, Mississippi, Colorado, Kansas, and Ohio. It has formed an alliance with the Mexico Mafia. The Aryan Brothers have around 30,000 members. The prison gang has a structure of presidents, vice presidents, majors, captains and lieutenants. It has a committee of members of a council that govern its branches across the United States. Its official symbol is a three-leaf clover. In order to join the gang one has to assault or kill another prisoner, and if one tries to leave the gang he is killed by the members. This gang is known for extortion, organized crime, drug trafficking, inmate prostitution and murder. They live by the motto ‘in for life and out by death’. They strongly believe ...

Many people with the same hateful beliefs form groups to “take on” the specific people they hate. A typical gang is based on hating someone who isn’t like them.
The reason why the Ku Klux Klan is separate from the Neo-Nazis and the Skinheads is because the Ku Klux Klan’s hatred and violence is aimed more towards blacks rather than the Neo- Nazis and the Skinheads, whose hatred is, aimed more towards the Jewish people. The Neo-Nazis, sometimes called White Aryan Resistance, is a group that follows under Adolph Hitler’s philosophies, which targets Jewish people. Unlike the Ku Klux Klan, the Skinheads do not join because they believe in the cause. Many join the "gang” to feel apart of something because they feel that they do not belong anywhere else.
In the Deprivation Theory, inmate subcultures develop in response to the deprivations of prison life. Then there is the Importation Theory where inmate subcultures are brought into prisons from the outside world. These theories are very true and visible in the movie because the prison is split up by race, which is very common for male inmates in prisons. There are basically gangs formed based on race. John Smith, who shares a cell with Wade Porter, says, “It’s not about gangs, it’s about race.” That statement is true to how prisons are in real life. In the movie, there is the Aryan Brotherhood, who basically runs the show. Most of the white men are in this gang, except for some who are in smaller gangs below them. Wade Porter finds himself joining the Aryan Brotherhood due to the need for protection. Next are the Hispanics who are split into two gangs, the northerners and the southerners who have a huge rivalry. Then there is the blacks who are joined by the Asians and the pacific islanders. This movie is a great representation of how prisons are split up by race. The gangs in the movie are also show how there is social control in prison because the gangs are split up into
Race, as a general understanding is classifying someone based on how they look rather than who they are. It is based on a number of things but more than anything else it’s based on skin's melanin content. A “race” is a social construction which alters over the course of time due to historical and social pressures. Racial formation is defined as how race shapes and is shaped by social structure, and how racial categories are represented and given meaning in media, language and everyday life. Racial formation is something that we see changing overtime because it is rooted in our history. Racial formation also comes with other factors below it like racial projects. Racial projects seek
A long-standing issue in America is racism with Caucasians historically being the dominant race. Although racism is not as severe of an issue as it was in the past, even today there is still a population of people, known as White Supremacists, that believe Christian Caucasians are supreme over all other collective groups. There are many White Supremacist groups, which have nuances among them. For example, some are politically focused trying to only have certain officials elected, while others are religiously focused trying to further their religious ideals. Some are even radical as well going so far as to harass and even murder those who are not like them. One of the groups focusing specifically on religion is the Aryan Nations. Aryan Nations, a religiously driven, American white supremacist group, perverts biblical text to rationalize their beliefs for themselves and recruitment of more members. Members of the Aryan Nations believe in racism, segregation, and have acted on their beliefs.
We live in a society that has a lot of gang related activity. There are hundreds of gangs across the country, some have grew too powerful to keep under control. The bloods are a gang that originated in Los Angeles in the 1972 as a response to the street violence imposed by the Crips. Although over time they continued to grow, they were still heavily outnumbered by the crips.
Have you ever wondered what America would be like if it was a white-only country? Well that is what Richard Girnt Butler tried to do in the 1970’s. Richard Butler started the Aryan Nations for many reasons
Apartheid is a word that means ‘separation’ in Afrikaans which is a spoken language in southern Africa. Apartheid was used in the twentieth century for racial segregation and political and economic discrimination in the late 1940’s . This is the separation between the blacks, coloured, and white South Africans. The apartheid in South Africa displays racial inequalities by having the twenty percent of whites rule over the majority of blacks and coloured. All whites wanted the blacks to have a whole other separate society. The African National Congress (ANC) which began as a nonviolent civil rights group tried to get rid of apartheid which was not successful until Nelson Mendela became the president and restored the South Africans natural rights.
