The stylistic period that descriptive realism of particulars is a characteristic of is Northern Europe 1400- 1500. During this period artists included many accidental details in their painting, details that didn't have to be added but it made the more realistic and easy to relate to. The artwork that I'm going to describe that contain descriptive realism of particulars in chapter 15 of the textbook is named Miraculous Draught of Fish. It was painted by a great artists known as Konrad Witz in the year of 1444. This painting can be found on page 414 of the textbook and it is numbered figure 15-20.

This painting is about a biblical event when Jesus walked on water and he told Peter to do the same; according to the story Peter took few steps until he got distracted by his surrounding and started to drawn. The lesson of this story to believers of Christ is that we should always put our focus on Christ no matter how big and difficult the problem might be. Wizt painted Jesus on water wearing a beautiful red gown and a halo around his head. the halo represent Jesus position of been the son of God in the heavenly realm. The detail and emphasis that Wizt put in the rows and how perfectly Jesus gown floats gives the viewer an illusion of him walking over water. Right opposite Jesus is a boat with some of his disciples fishing. Peter is between Jesus and the boat full of Jesus Disciples. The painting is significant because of the beautiful landscape he painted in the back of it. He included great detail of houses, tree, hill, and a wide land that keeps going with no end. According to the textbook art historians were able to find the exact location of lake and the landscape, because of how he carefully observe and included each little detail in his painting.
