The Aries rules the head (the anima) portion of our physical body. The cranium, the skull, the noodle and the dome as well as the brain and nerve centers, to be precise it rules the brain inside the portion of the scalp above the eyebrows and the eyes. It’s no secret Aries always lead with their head and are subject to all kinds of head complaints sinuses, blood pounding headaches after they get angry, which could lead to high blood pressure later on in life, especially when you’re under big time stress, toothaches gum infections, and are also prone to injuries and accidents to the head & face. American Football is a huge spectator sport where offensive and defensive players will use teamwork and perseverance to try and score more points than their opponent. Football is highly respected in America, where boys will try and pursue the dream of playing in the NFL (National Football Association) someday; but if you look at an average neighborhood, you will find that kids and adults of all ages love to go out and throw around the pigskin. (Lerner and Lerner 275). One thing Americans will take pride in is the college and NFL football teams they root for. People sit down with a beer and talk hours upon hours of football and two individuals can get in a heated discussion in the local sports store of whose sports team is better. Surprisingly enough, one will find the most passionate football players at the high school level. Most boys will start their football career as a young child in football programs such as Pop Warner to get a foothold and to get those involved in teamwork and friendships. These programs are usually the start to someone falling in love with the sport and making it a career choice eight years later. Football is one of America’s favorite sports. When fall season comes around, people across America are placing bets, finding out where that new sports bar is, and buying wide screen T.V’s to watch NFL on Sundays. After their team plays, they will go out and reminisce what happened that Sunday. While thousands of fans are still pumped from the NFL games they watched; small towns across America are getting ready to shut down their shops and restaurants to have the chance to make it to the local high schools football game. Ray Glier, a reporter for the New York Times, writes about football in the small town of Appala...
A. Background In recent years, there has been an increase in research investigating the long-term effects of repeated head trauma on the brain, especially in athletes. Following his discovery of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), Dr. Bennet Omalu inspired a movement of research aimed at establishing better safety standards and protocols in football. It was not until 2002 that the initial connection between repetitive head trauma, such as concussions, and brain injury was suspected (Ott, 2015). As common as concussions were during the late 1970s and 1980s, they were often swept under the rug, as they were seen as insignificant injuries.
The world of sports is filled with great memories, grand moments and at times complete mayhem. There are moments like hitting a Home Run in game 7 of the World Series or memories of scoring an overtime goal during the Stanley Cup finals. However, there are also incredibly low moments when mayhem occurs such as an action or incident that results in a concussion. An injury such as a concussion can ruin your sports career or potentially your ability to function normally in the future. Concussions are caused by blunt force trauma to the head, a fall or an injury that shakes the brain inside the skull. Recovering from a concussion can take weeks, months or even years to heal. For some, it can impair your mental or mobility functions for life.
The Effects of Concussions on Human Beings. Did you know, that someone suffers from a brain injury every 21 seconds (Haas)? Children get concussions all the time, and most of the time they go unnoticed. The majority of concussions happen when one is playing a sport such as football, hockey, or lacrosse. Many famous athletes have had their careers, even their lives, cut short due to concussions.
An anonymous person once said, "He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything." Ever since I was a young girl, I always knew I wanted to do something with helping people. But as I grew up, I also took an interest in sports, which leads me to where I am today. I would like to be able to help people in the sports ' world. In this essay, I plan to research concussions and how the long-term effects can impact people for the rest of their lives. Through research, I have learned exactly what a concussion is, the long-term effects and severity, and finally the treatments for a concussion. This relates to my senior project because for my final product, I will be presenting the lasting effects of concussions.
Today, there are thousands of people who play sports with a huge risk of severe injuries such as concussions. This is a major problem in most sports mainly being football. This is mainly because of either the lack of protection or lack of rules. I believe that there should be more rules or protection to prevent concussions. The main problem is that there are too many kids and adults becoming severely injured because of lack of awareness for concussions. Many of solutions have been tried but that usually only lowers the amount of injuries by a small percentage. A solution to this problem could be to increase the awareness for concussions by creating more rules in professional sports. The amount of concussions need to be lowered.
The basic astrological assumptions are not hard to grasp. For if astronomy is the study of the movements of the heavenly bodies, then astrology is the study of the effects of those movements. The astronomers of the ancient world assumed a division of the universe whereby the superior, immutable bodies of the celestial worlds ruled over the terrestrial or sublunary sphere, where all was mortality and change. It was assumed that the stars had special qualities and influences which were transmitted downwards upon the passive earth, and which varied in their effect, according to the changing relationship of the heavenly bodies to each other. They were led to postulate a single system in which the seven moving stars or planet shifted their position in relation to the earth and each other, against a fixed backcloth of the twelve signs of the zodiac. There is nothing obscure about these general assumptions.
Athletics provide and develop kids with invaluable skills such as teamwork and determination. However, with some of those benefits comes the potential of a serious injury. Recently, concussions have been a major topic of discussion in the sports world. Many retired players of contact sports, including but not limited to, the National Football League (NFL) and the National Hockey League (NHL), have reported experiencing changes in their lifestyle both physically and psychologically. Concussions are a serious injury as they not only impact one’s life immediately but can also impact his or her future. It is important that we understand the science behind concussions and formulate ways to protect ourselves against them.
Head injuries are very serious and dangerous. Some head injuries can cause neurological brain damage. They are commonly found in the sports world, putting athletes at risk. There are a lot of head injuries that are dangerous or could cause serious damage brain and in turn, the body. Because of this, precautions, rules, and guidelines need to be in place to prevent and treat these athletes. If these things are not put in place, it could mean the difference between life and death for these athletes. There are many different injuries that can occur to the head and face. Facial injuries can be very dangerous as it can concern the eyes nose and mouth.
Modern life is rather fast paced and requires quite a bit of physical and mental activity; this in combination with several other aspects puts our bodies under great amounts of stress. It is very common to have a tension in the triangular area going from the base of your neck and across the shoulders. This makes the shoulders raise and move forward. This often will constrict the lungs and makes the breathing become more shallow, which restricts the ability to breathe normally. Along with breathing issues it makes the posture worse which will make the head out of alignment this makes certain muscles have to provide more support of the head than normal. The back becomes tighter and puts extra pressure on the skull which pulls on the muscles where the head and neck come together and around the surface of the skull. This adds to some of the most common reasons people obtain headaches.
It represented the whole of the narrative of the zodiac, with the head of a
Should the fear of brain trauma, change the rules of sports for good? Athletes have been susceptible for brain injuries since contact sports were invented. Although some are familiar with this, many people are unaware of the long term ramifications that often come with these types of injuries. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, (ALS) is a disease that is slowly plaguing our nation, starting with athletes. It is one of the fatal repercussions of repetitive head trauma, that is often overlooked. CTE, also known as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is also a disease caused by head trauma that can drastically impact one’s life. CTE’s have a subset of different associated diseases such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinsons, and Huntingtons disease.
Astrology has had its ups and downs through history, but it always maintained that station of being. (www.astrologers.com/history.html# Relevant, p.1) After some aspects of religion became prevalent, astrology became known as the “work of the devil”. (Weblinker.com Enterprises, p.1) During the Renaissance, though, astrology became more liked than before. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) Even religious leaders began to practice astrology more often. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) People of the royal families had their own astrologers. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1) That is how worldwide astrology was. (Weblinkers.com Enterprises, p.1)
Astrology is a method of study relating astronomy to human affairs and the natural world. Astrology, the study of celestial events in correlation with behavior on Earth, is used to demonstrate how humans are essential parts of the universe. It is defined as, “the science of the stars”. The purpose of astrology mentioned in “The Only Astrology Book You’ll ever Need” is the art and science of studying the celestial bodies and their cyclical motion and determining their influence on human character, behavior, experience, and events (Woolfolk, page 47). Celestial bodies are classified as any event that can involve any body relating to the sky, whether it be the Sun, Moon, a planet, an asteroid, comet, star,
