The climate region that I had chose to do my essay on is the Arid Dry climate region. This climate is a very plain and also very exciting climate to be in. You could do a tremendous amount of activities such as offroading and sports.
This climate region is a very happy but boring place to be. The arid climate region has some cool spots that have a cool breeze come threw but most of it is just hot and humid. The State I chose to do this climate region on was Arizona. Arizona is one of the hottest states in the United states. Most of Arizona is desert like climate with dead bushes and hard dried dirt. In the northern part of Arizona there are trees that are lush and green. The reason the bushes and trees up in the northern part of Arizona
There are lots of fresh dihydrogen monoxide lakes and rivers as well as coal, oil and mineral mines this location is withal able to grow potatoes and grapes it’s additionally mundane to find good fishing locations. The climate found in this area varies greatly because of the mountains. Coastal temperatures incline to be warmer than those inland, and northern climates are cooler than southern climates. The landscape of the Cordillera has long chains of high rugged mountains. This includes the Rocky Mountains and the Coastal Mountains. Components of this region are covered with forests. The Cordillera is located on the west coast of Canada and includes British Columbia, the Yukon, southwest Alberta and part of North West Territories. The climate of the Cordillera's coast is mild, wet and infrequently has snow that stays. The interior of the Cordillera is customarily more gelid and dryer with more sizable voluminous amounts of snow. In the summer, it is warmer and there is less rain.
In Montana, tall mountains create two distinct climate regions. To the west of the mountains, the weather is milder (Av2 books).
A few of Arizona industries are mining, health care, education, and transportation. Some of the land in Arizona is the Grand Canyon, The Sonoran Desert, Humphrey’s Peak, and Oak Greek Canyon. Arizona’s climate in the winter is usually only down to 60 degrees. The lowest it can get is to 40 degrees. In the summer the heat can get all the way up to 110 degrees. Some of the goods and services are electronic goods. Another one is space vehicles, and guided missiles. Some of the electronics are computers. Some of the goods are metal. Also one of the services are semiconductors.
These conditions did not come swiftly and technically started during the 1800’s, when pioneers first started to settle there. Their “cattle overgrazed the land, stripping it of the shrubby grasses that had held the soil in place for centuries” and they “used growing methods common to the more humid eastern United States” because that’s all the pioneers knew about farming (Gale,
Desertification to The Sahel The region known as the Sahel is a wide stretch of land running from the Atlantic ocean to the African "Horn", an area that contains the countries of Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Somalia And it is the strip of land that separates savanna from the desert, the issue I have been researching is Desertification to the Sahel, in other terms, The Sahel is shrinking at an alarming rate. Animals have been allowed to graze on its fragile land, which has destroyed the vegetation. The people who live along the Sahel have caused it to shrink by cutting trees and bushes for fuel.
The climate of the Southern colonies is perfect. The climate contains hot summers and mild winters. The soil is perfect for farming and the growing season, for crops, was
The type of biome where dust bowls are known to occur is in the temperate grasslands. The typical climate in a temperate grassland biome includes very cold winters that drop below -40 degrees Fahrenheit and very warm summers that exceed over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The precipitation level ranges from 10 to 35 inches per year. Most of the precipitation in this biome occurs during late spring and early summer.
Similar to the other states and territories, Arizona had what they believed was endless open range. Arizona also had a favorable climate that promoted the growth of vegetation. “Perennial grasses blanketed the broad valley floors, betraying no hint of the wide variations in annual rainfall and productivity that would later catch cattlemen unprepared” (Sayre 248). However, in the twenty years of the Cattle Boom, Arizona experienced a tragedy of the commons. The overpopulation of cattle had depleted the vegetation and degraded the
The State of Arizona is vast with many different landscapes, weather patterns, temperatures, and wonders. With Arizona, you can easily experience any climate from around the world in just a few hours drive.
Norways climate is temperate along the coast and cooler in the interior regions. The terrain is glaciated , mostly high plateaus and rugged mountain broken by fertile valleys , small , scattered plains and coastlines deeply indented by fjords. The highest point of Norway at 2472 m is Glittertind and the lowest at0 m is the Norwegian Sea.
The notion that all deserts are hot and sandy is especially erroneous. The surrounding landforms, air temperature, and soil composition have no bearing on whether or not a climate region is classified as a dessert. The sole characteristic used in classifying climate regions as a desert is aridity; a lack of moisture (Cressy 390). Deserts can be defined as regions where less than 10 inches of liquid equivalent precipitation falls each year. A better definition is any climatic region where evaporation substantially exceeds precipitation for most of the year (Cressey 390). Thus, based on this definition it is clear that deserts are not regulated to hot low latitude regions of the earth.
The world should be pulling their resources together because the way the drought is affecting the Eastern Africa’s people is killing them. Reasonable one can not live in conditions where there is minimal food and water. People need to get their basic needs to survive and Eastern Africa is far from the ideal place to do so due to drought. The Eastern Africa people have limited crops which are mostly failing due to lack of water, little cattle herds due to the hot conditions and poor ground to feed on ,while the rest of the world has the resources to provide large-scale relief (Stewart, 2011). This is a big issue because on a global scale we are letting Eastern Africa’s people suffer when there is no need of it. The drought in Eastern Africa is causing many conflicts and death due to lack of food and water.
The Namib Desert The Namib Desert is a parched and rippled desert, an endless expanse. It stretches along the southwest coast of Africa from Angola in the north. through Namibia, into South Africa. The name Namib means “emptiness.”
The Sahara’s climate is very hot and dry. Although it is very hot during the day, it does become cold at night. On average, it only has 8 inches of rainfall per year. The Sahara's climate consists of b...
The best climate for agriculture is temperate climate, with no extremes of temperature or precipitation. If there are extremes, no crops can be grown and people won't be able to continue their lives. So areas with temperate climates have a denser population than extreme climates. A second effect of climate on people is that people are not able to live in extreme climates, especially cold temperatures. Topography, which divides into three parts; altitude, slope and aspect.
