INDEPENDENCE DECLARED July 4, 1776 - Local leaders of the fight against the British Regime have officially declared the colonies as their own country. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and signed by figures such as George Washington just this morning. The document entailed our separation as well as the basis for it. Reasonings included taxation without representation, forced housing of military, and refusal to pass or allow lawmaking. Now having independence, of those who have heard the news, most everyone is rejoicing. This potentially brings the end to military control, forced taxation, lack or law making power, unfair court systems, and much more. With having declared independence, we now wait for Britain's
response. Assuming we become independent without struggle, we now will need a law system and government to run the country. There are rumors that a supposed Articles of the Confederation is in the works to resolve these pressing issues.
The Declaration of Independance was created and signed by the Continental Congress and declared the thirteen colonies, thirteen states, all part of the United States of America. 56 delegates signed and independence from Great Britain was finally in action.
Justification of the Colonists' Declaration of Independence from England Were the colonist justified in declaring independence from England? I feel that they had plenty of just cause to separate themselves. England was taxing the colonies without fair representation in Parliament, the British also took away the right to assemble, and they were using different tactics to attempt to intimidate the colonists. One of the greatest thing that angered the colonists was the taxation without representation. The British government had good reason to tax the colonies, because they just went to war to defend them.
After it was written, 56 delegates coming from all of the 13 colonies signed the Declaration of Independence in order to make it official. This document served great justice during the Atlantic Revolution; it sought to make a difference as to how the colonies were in terms of their alliance with Britain. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence for the American colonists to proclaim freedom from Great Britain's oppressor, King George III. American colonists had been suffering for many years when this important document was drafted. King George III had pushed the colonists into a state of tyranny and most decided it was time to start an independent nation under a different type of government. Jefferson focused his piece toward many audiences. He wanted not only King George III and the British Parliament to know the American's feelings, but also the entire world. The way the United States of America came into being was a combination of all of these.
