The United State of America, established by the Founding Father who lead the American Revolution, accomplished many hardship in order to construct what America is today. As history established America’s future, the suffering the United State encountered through history illustrate America’s ability to identify mistakes and make changes to prevent the predictable. The 2nd Amendment was written by the Founding Father who had their rights to bear arms revoked when they believe rising up to their government was appropriate. The Twentieth Century, American’s are divided on the 2nd Amendment rights, “The right to bear arms.” To understand why the Founding Father written this Amendment, investigating the histories and current measures may help the American people gain a better understanding of gun’s rights in today’s America.
On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights was ratified effective by Congress. These first ten amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America promised the states certain rights and freedoms which could not be infringed by the government. After all, the founding fathers knew from experience that men in their weakness were often tempted by power. They had become all too familiar with this when under the control of King George in England. Therefore, in order to protect the future people of their beautiful country, they promised certain liberties which could not be taken away. Every single one of these freedoms is important for the United States of America. However, the second amendment is especially important to our nation because it allows the people to protect their freedom and defend themselves and the common good against an overreaching government.
The U.S. should not have gun control laws. The Second Amendment to the Constitution states that, “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” This amendment has been around since 1791, and there has been gun control almost as long as it's been around. The National Rifle Association is an advocate of the Second Amendment and an opponent of those who propose restrictions on guns. Even Presidents Reagan and Bush are members, and Nixon, Eisenhower, and Kennedy were also members. Why do people feel the need to own a handgun? One reason is heritage. For as long as this country has been around, there have been gun owners, to defend themselves and to hunt for food. Buying, owning, or carrying a handgun doesn't hurt anyone. Until a person commits a crime, he/she is free to choose what he/she wants to do. Even if guns were completely banned from the U.S.A., people would still find a way to get them. Criminals would get guns. They would have their way, and there would be nothing we could do about it. We would have no way to defend ourselves. What is gun control to you? To me, it is the unconstitutional regulation and banning of guns to try to keep the crime rates in this country down. Does it work? Some gun laws are okay and they may work to some extent, but not to the extent that was intended. As for most of these gun laws such as the Brady Law, it serves no purpose. It is only there to make our lawmaking bodies and those of us who are too naive to see the truth feel better. Do you really think that the Brady Law keeps handguns out of the hands of criminals?

Civilian ownership of firearms has for more than two hundred years been the very cornerstone upon which the liberty of the public has been supported. The very reason that Americans have never suffered a tyranny on the scale of Nazi-Germany has been due to the proliferation of firearms in the hands of the general public.
The Second Amendment to the Constitution(Second Amendment) of the United States of America(USA) is one of the most controversial. The Second Amendment specifically grants that, "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed"

Luckily though, she held a concealed carry and she had a gun with her, which therefore made a life changing difference. Another case where having a concealed carry saved a life was one where an attacker broke into a woman’s home. The woman, who was getting out of the shower at the time, was met by the attacker who was holding a kitchen knife in his hands. The woman put up a fight, and fell back into the tub when she lost the struggle. She knew she had to do something, so she convinced the man that she had money in her bedroom. When going to retrieve the “money”, she grabbed a .22 caliber handgun and shot her attacker nine times. Police say the man ran out the door and collapsed, dying in her backyard. (Hawkins) Monica Jones, mother of three kids, heard the neighbor child screaming one Thursday. When she went to go see what the commotion was all about, she discovered a man who had ripped the child’s clothes off and had tried to rape her. Jones pointed a shotgun at the man and told him to stay or she would shoot him. (Hawkins) It is times like the ones above that make having a gun around a priceless opportunity. There are bad guys everywhere. Guns are like fire extinguishers.
The first amendment is the cornerstone of our American society founded years ago by our forefathers. Without the first amendment many ideas, beliefs, and groups could not exist today. The first amendment guaranteed the people of the United States the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and freedom of petition. Although the first amendment guarantees us, Americans the freedom of speech, we cannot use it to cause others harm. This amendment has helped shaped Americans into what we are today, because of our right to assemble, speak freely, and worship as we please.
Being a young American I have witnessed many problems with growing up in this great country of ours. We have homeless people who can't find work, rising inflation rates, an unbalanced budget, and more importantly, a problem with guns.
The amendments are a set of rights assured to every American as part of the freedom our country promises. The amendment that will be the focal point of this paper, the second, was ratified in 1791. Our country was a completely different place during those times, which is the reason I believe the Bill of Rights should be rewritten, and updated every so often. By updated, I do not mean anything taken away or added to it, but for the way it was written to be altered. If it was more easily understandable there would be no leeway for people to get away with limiting these rights of our people.
The problem with guns is fairly obvious: they decrease the difficulty of killing or injuring a person. In Jeffrey A. Roth's Firearms and Violence (NIJ Research in Brief, February 1994), he points out the obvious dangers. About 60 percent of all murder victims in the United States in 1989 (about 12,000 people) were killed with firearms. Firearm attacks injured another 70,000 victims, some of whom were left permanently disabled. In 1985, the cost of shootings was an estimated $14 billion nationwide for medical care, long-term disability, and premature death. In robberies and assaults, victims are far more likely to die when the perpetrator is armed with a gun than when he or she has another weapon or is unarmed.
America is known to be a land where we as American citizens can be anything we want to be. As humans, we all face adversities that mold the way we carry out decisions and have an impact on the way we make decisions and view situations. American citizens have the right to vote for our leaders, and it is vital to exercise this freedom. The First Amendment constitutes our freedom of speech, but if not properly exercise our right to vote, how can we justify protesting the outcome of policies.
The 2nd amendment of The Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution states the following, “…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This unalienable right has led to numerous massacres across the country since it was first incepted and has been a topic of controversy and interest since to this day. An amendment in the Bill of Rights is an unalienable right and therefore cannot be taken away for the very government of the United States was created in order to protect them. While the amendment can’t and won’t be eradicated all together, there are still steps to be taken where we can live in a world where we are better prepared in situations where we are encounter a gun-wielding threat.
Imagine you are at home and your children are sound asleep in their room. While getting ready for bed you hear a noise downstairs. You go down to see an armed robber and realize you must protect your home. Do you have time to call 911 or should you use your own weapon to remove the intruder from your home? On average it takes about 11 minutes for a first responder to get to your home when it only takes seconds for you to get to your own firearm and be ready to defend your home and family. If it wasn't for the second amendment and your right to bear arms you could be in this situation without almost any form of defense. And don't think that just because owning firearms would be illegal criminals would just give them up as well. Gun laws would take guns from the people that need them for defence not the people using them to commit crimes.
